Somewhere down in Texas
I went to the dentist this morning because i have a wisdom tooth that is freaking killing me! The two bottom ones are impacted and they are going to pull them (actually they have to be cut out) on Friday morning. I am quite nervous because i have had minimal dental work done to me. I hear that it is painless and i will be under local anestesia. I quess no smoking pipes and cigars for me for about a week. Oh yeah, I quess this will be the time I quit Copenhagen finally.

I had all 4 of mine taken out at the same time. It was done under a general anesthetic. Man, I would not want to be awake for that, specially if they are impacted....

AHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHHAHHA
Yea right!

when i had mine taken out my dad had to remove part of my jaw along with the teeth. He hooked me up with so many meds that 2 hours after surgery I convinced Linds that I was fine and could go fishing in the 100+ heat. About 30 min later my dad was carrying me back into the house. Needless to say, I had a major relapse and was on bed rest for 2 weeks. THE MEDS ROCK!

I went through the same level of anxiety with decayed impacted lower wisdom teeth. Lots of lidocane and nitrous and they were out. I especially liked one of the tools the dentist used that was like a cross between vice grips and a slide hammer. He called it the sledge-o-matic. It could be worse. Ever see Clan of the Cave Bear?

After all was said and done the dentist gave me prescriptions for percodan and Valium. The only complication I had was a dry socket which was quickly remedied on a drop in visit.

If you have insurance be sure to submit extractions described as "full bony impacted" to both your health and dental plans. Health insurance often covers such extractions as a surgical procedure.

I shall sleep peacefully on Thursday night knowing that a Sledge-o-Matic is gonna be used in my mouth! OUCH!!! That just sounds painful!

Don't worry Dustin, he will sterilize it before he uses it.

But seriously, don't worry brother, they have all done this before, and there will be pain, but you will heal.

Slight apin when the needle goes in; no more pain when you get out of CVS with your presciption for percoset or viacodin and grab a BIG bottle of wine and go home to relax.
It will be worth it. You may want to take the next two days off of work if you can so that you are not loopey at work and can still take your medicine.

I think a bottle of Chimay will be in order here.

Luckily I am having them cut out on Friday morning, giving me time to recover over the weekend.

YOU ARE SCREWED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! RUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

nah it is no big deal, if you are really worked up about it, call the dentist and they will give you a Scrip for Valium to take before you go.

Dibs on the left over oxycodon!

Am I hte only one who does not find this as useful as percoset or viacodin. A buddy of mine game me a couple when I was having trouble over a weekend with a tooth. it did not work all that well for me. I think the vics and percs are better. JMHO

Okay. It is done.

At approximately 10am this morning, i had my bottom wisdom teeth extracted. It was pure hell on earth. The shots were so frigging painful. My face is swollen right now. I have bloody guases in my mouth now and i am not allowed to spit. No spitting means no Copenhagen. I am hungry. I went to walmart to get my perscriptions (connor, Pm me for details) and bought a bunch of pudding. I love tapioca.

Let me tell you this: when I die, I can 100% guarantee you that my upper wisdom teeth will still be in my mouth. I am taking then with me.

HIT MY MUSIC!

PM sent...I ONLY WANT THE OXYCODON!
Nice to hear it did not effect your looks!
I will pick up a can and pinch on for my fallen homey!

Good you hear you are at least in good spirits.
You will be fine in a few days, I dipped as soon as i could feel my mouth again, about 2 days.

Hang in there, relax, watch silly mindless and entertaining DVDs. You obviously had a rougher time than I did.

PS, Upper wisdom teeth usually come out a lot easier and you may have to give them up if they become rotten.

Sorry to hear about your pain Dustin! Are you excluded from drinking bourbon through a straw? Never hurts. Hope you heal up quick!!
