alright guys...in keeping with my washington trivia from my last question...

Every year, since he began his service, Congressman Dingell has introduced, among others, the same, identical bill each year. What is the purpose of this bill?

Despite the fact that it fails everytime, what is the main reason, besides out of principle, that Congressman Dingell continues to introduce this bill each year?

Sometimes, when the bill is introduced, it is often given the same bill number as previous years, sometimes different. For what specific reason does this particular bill get assigned a certain # vs any other number, and why does it change? (the answer is unique to this bill, im not looking for the general way all bills are assigned their #)

so i figure ill see how hard this turns out to be and how long it takes to get the answer and how many of the questions can be answered...if its not answered before cong. offices open tomorrow, ill start posting hints, try finding the answers without calling his office tomorrow!!!

good luck!

Sooo....if HighPSI won it.....is there a question in the air???

I have been enjoying this thread even though I have only been able to answer one of them correctly, but I think one thing that would help would be alternate between trivia, and thinking questions, then more people would have a chance?

What do you guys think.
Wait, is that a a trivial or a thinking question? :p

H.R. 2259, Patients Bill of Rights Act of 2005

We need a Patients’ Bill of Rights to protect Americans from crafty HMO attorneys who avoid accountability by keeping victims and their families tied up in court for years. Congressman Dingell's exact words

ok this last one im not sure of I know the HR means its a house of representatives bill, and 2259 is the sequential number in the order that it was introduced. The reason it changes is that each year its introduced in a different position so it gets a different number.

Corojobrad-

Got your Package today. That's Package with a capital "P." Awesome selections. I've been eyeing the Gurkhas for a while now. I think I'm gonna smoke that Master Select Perfecto #2 (is that a correct ID?) tonight while I study for my test in the morning. The others I'll (try to) let rest for a while.

Thanks much BOTL!!

very good try teddy, thats not the bill though...and im looking for why the particular bill is given THE number that it is given each year...

ok, first hint...

our brothers to the north, as i understand it, have a near identical public service that this bill seeks to establish here in the states

ill post another hint this evening, and then give it some time...if still nothing and you guys think its too tough or obscure, just let me know

Ok HighPSI

the bill's purpose is national healthcare/socialized medicine. he introduces it every year in honor of his pop who originally introduced it way way back when he was a congressman in the 40s.

The number was originally h.r. 15. He attempts to introduce it as such every year, but is not necesarily successful. Thus, it is usually 15, but not always.

ding, for all intents and purposes you have won fargo...pm me your info and ill get a somethin out to you...

the bill is to establish a national healthcare system to provide universal healthcare coverage...

he does in fact introduce each congress in honor of his predecessor and father, who did the same...

the only part you got a bit off is that it is indeed usually named hr. 15, as he always tries to name it after the # district he represents at the time...it changes sometimes due to redistricting and in the past has sometimes been hr. 14 i believe...

congrats fargo!

That was the only part I wasn't sure about. I currently live in his district and I should have thought of it. I'll pm you right away.

Joe

Ok, this one isn't too hard, but it also isn't too easy:

The chamberings listed below each fire one of two diameters of bullets. Organize them into the two groups and tell me the diameter in inches each group fires. Also, tell me which shape of bullet is most commonly used in each group.

Good luck,

Joe
