awesome, thx Brenda! pm coming...

so i guess its my turn...hmmm, give me a bit to think of something, im not known to have much trivia right off the top of my head :D

Keep it simple, like "what's 1+1 equal to" or like that.

So, here is the question...

The United States Capitol has 3 main floors, basement level, 1st floor, 2nd floor...there are others in certain corridors, but these are the main...

At the Capitol Dome area, the 2nd floor is where many gather to look up at the Rotunda, the inside of the dome with beautiful artwork, sculpturing, etc...

Directly underneath, on the first floor, is the area referred to as the "crypt" and in the center is a series of intersecting lines or seams in the floor, and where they intersect indicates the direct center of the Rotunda or Dome...

What purpose was the crypt level of the Capitol originally built for and why was it not used for this purpose?

I have no idea. My brain is already hurting from my work. What happened to the 1+1 question? sheesh.

It was originally built for storage of archival materials, such as notes etc. from state business.
