Godiva Cigar

I had some time late last night to light up a fantastic A. Fuente Gran Reserva robusto that, compliments of Cigarsmoka, had been infused with Godiva liquer and boy howdy was that different! It smelled just like the liquer prelight and once I got it going it was great. It took a while because it was freeze out (halfway through I lost most of the feeling to my hands) but it was very smooth. The chocolate taste was a lot more subtle that I expected but the smell of the smoke was incredible. The aroma was very flowery and light and sweet. The smoke was quite thick and creamy as well. It made for a very smooth and delicious cigar to polish off my evening. Big up to Cigarsmoka!  :wine:

Smoka did the infusion experiment himself, yes. I'd say it was a success. I really enjoyed it!

I'm glad you enjoyed it! I have yet to try one...

There is a whole bottle in those things now!

It seems to have worked!

I'm not ready to go 'mad scientist' on any cigars, but that is pretty freaking cool. I'm still just trying to get a handle on the humidity thing. Home infusion...gotta love it! I think your my hero, 'Smoka!

 lol I wonder what other liquors would be good to try?

i wonder how it would work if you brushed the liquor on the wrapper of a cigar then hung it up in a humidor so it could dry evenly. might try it with a couple primeros.

'Smoka, I think it would be nice to try it with an Amaretto!

'Higgs, carefull not to crack or unravel the wrappers, I like the concept of slowly infusing, but it looks like that takes a good deal of time. Not to mention money...as in good liqueur, a dedicated oasis, and quality cigars.

You can actually see little patches of oil, or godiva on the wrappers already. I dried these babies out for about two weeks before putting them into the infusing humidor, I wanted the liquor to really get into the filler...

Hey Thor, did the Godiva liquer have any negative effects on the fan in the Oasis Plus?

its probly not good for it if you pour it on it, but id say it is just fine.

what about just soaking a cigar is some liquor like they used to do with cognac? might be fun to try this, if i ruin a primero ill just send it out to sea, they only cost a buck each anyway.

that is a thought... i wonder how long it would need to be dipped. I am also thinking i could get a paper towel nice and soaked then wrap it around the primero and let it sit in a bag for a few days... Might speed up the process.

i would use some non stick cloth of some kind. a paper towel would dry and in the proccess of the cigar soaking up what was in the cigar it could stick to the wrapper. burning paper wouldnt make a very nice aroma!

This thread is wrong on so many levels!

I say smoke what you like - BUT!

Ok  feeling better now :?

I've been following this thread with regret.
Thanks for your opinion.
I respect the leaf- tocacco, and all of those who have spent lives trying to figure out how to fight nature & blend a constant product that we all demand for a few bucks a cigar. Many have had to flee their homeland in this passion.
Do what you want, but I will never smoke a flavored cigar. I respect the industry& the people.
Those who want something flavored- suck on a lollypop- leave the art of cigars to those who appreciate the leaf.

I'm off this forum for a while until many settle down.
Bye Malone

that was a little wierd. we want to try somthing a little different and you complain and run away like a kid that just got pinched? its not like we're making you smoke it malone.
