I put together a perforated tupperware container, with wet Oasisi, and a 50/50 mixture of PG & H20.

I did not over saturate the Oasis.

But the RH is consistently over 70%, in a 50qt Igloo cooler.

Will this set up both relase moisture when the RH is less tha 70%, AND absorb moisture when the RH is above 70% RH?

THX

No the Oasis will not absorb moisture when it is to high. What says the Rh is 70 is you hygro Salt tested? Does the oasis turn on when the Rh is that high? what do you have it set at?

Sorry I meant Florist Oasis. Yes, the hygro is salt tested.

Yea, I put a lot of holes in the tuperware. But still, shouldn't the setup maintain a minimum of 70%RH?

Should I just start over with new tuperware, add just a few holes, and add more if needed?

No all it does is release humidity as the water evaps. If you look at Credo Style humidifiers the can be closed up. What is the temp of your Humi? Do you want to keeps your cigars at 70%? I think that hey smoke better at 65% but that is JMHO

I do want to bring the RH down to around 65%. Right now all I have in the Igloodoor is an Humi-Care Cigar Gel.

Probably should spring for an Oasis XL, of XL Plus.

Any other suggestions will be appreciated. I'm still learning.

Yes, I have thought about beads. Temp is usually between 65 - 70 deg. F.

Will the beads both release & absorb moisture to maintain a RH of 65%, assuming you get the 65% beads?

THX

I believe that I bought a 50qt Igloo cooler. Approximately how many ounces/pounds of beads should I use in the cooler?

What do you use to put the beads in, tupperware, etc.?

THX

A pound would be fine. You could put them in anything. I like to use a aquarium filter bag and make little sausages ot of them works fine.

Scott, if you have a digital camera and get a chance, how about posting a picture? I for one would like to see your creation.

Good luck!

It's nothing special, just the cooler. Which I lined the bottom with pieces of spanish cedar from broken up boxes. I did put two of the bigger pieces of cedar on the sides as well, no glue, just propped them up there. I have 3-4 boxes in the bottom right now, with 2-3 more to come next week. the cooler came with a plastic tray, I have a bunch of singles in the tray, some cedar, and the hygro.

I don't have a digital camera. I can try and take a pic with my phone. but as I said, it's nothing special to look at. Just want to get it functional at this point.

Don't sell your cooler short. Posting a pic of what you made is always fun. Who knows someone else may have advice for you or you matbe able to help someone else
