how old are you?

Welcome Eclipse...I was around 14 or 15 as well...

Although some friends of mine swear that they remember me and another buddy smoking cigars while fishing at 13, which is just rediculous....anyway, glad to have to! :D

Thank you sir

Thank you sir, looking forward to many stimulating conversations. ( and some mindless as well!!

That's funny! I probably was smoking a cigar at 13, I've just blocked it out!! Cigarbid is a very bad thing!!!

That's funny. Eclipse_man just "blocked it out." :cryinlaugh: :cryinlaugh: :cryinlaugh:  :rotflmao:

What can I say bloof!! At 13, it is not prudent for a young man to be puffin on a stogie. Granted, many things I may have done in my life were not considered prudent, but what can I say!

Yeah, but "Eclipse_man" "blocked" it out is just too funny. What else does an eclipse do? :cryinlaugh: I guess it's just the dumb blonde in me. :cryinlaugh:

Cheers Axe, I appreciate the kind welcome. Bloof i got the eclipse thing.....Sheesh....

Some of my best friends seem dense until those exact moments in time when they are pure genius. ( one of them is a girl I went to high school with who's father is the patent holding creator of post it notes!!)

Hey folks,

Been out of the loop for a spell. Anyways, 34 here! Been a cigar enthusiast since about 22.

Hi there!

Hello everyone,

As you can tell I'm new to this site. Found it whilst browsing for some cigars to add to my humidor!

I'm 21, and I smoked my first cigar when I was 12 with my step father. It was a very old Davidoff and I remember struggling like hell to smoke it!

I then began smoking cigars on a regular basis from the age of 16, whenever I visited my mother's house and was able to raid the Davidoff Special Reserve humidor!

I'm still very new to the cigar game so if you have any advice or suggestions please let me know!

Many thanks,

2nd Lieutenant James Anderson of The Royal Green Jackets

Welcome Ando! Is the Davidoff Special Reserve Humidor still in existance?

It certainly is. I was in Belgium a few weeks ago visiting my mother (and step father) and had a good look in the Special Reserve. It's mainly full of Davidoffs, I think a few #1's and #3's a few Montecristo #3's. I also found some bizarre cigars that are a squared cone shape, and according to my step father you smoke them from the fattest end - ring any bells?

But it is a beautiful humidor and I've been very lucky to have taken it over (my step father gave up smoking cigars last year!)

Andro:
Welcome and my respect for your current position in the Military.
Are you to be a career man?
Would you let us know your heritage?
Could you be a Scott?
Ignore this if I'm being too personal.

I'd be only too happy to give you a brief insight into my heritage.
My family has always been very military orientated, my Great Grandfather was an Offcer in the Royal Highlanders, my Grandfather was a sniper with the Queens Royal Dragoon and my father was Captain of a tank brigade in the 1st Btln Royal Tank Regiment.

Both my great and grand fathers were both scottish, resulting in me being half scottish. I was going to join the Scots Guard, but I was based too far away to keep going for selection. In the end I went to Sandhurst for a year of Officer training, then passed out into the Royal Green Jackets were I went onto specialise in extreme climates; deserts, ice, jungle etc. Now I'm in charge of 11 men, and 2 Challenger tanks.

My other plan was to join the Grenadier Guards, and I may still transfer to this regiment as they are looking for platoon officers to lead peacekeeping operations in Iraq.

So thats me, just doing my bit for Queen and Country.

I'll keep you posted as to how my possible transfer to the Guards goes.

Ando:
Very well done.
My favorite hobby is Scotland, collecting and playing golf with Scottish golf clubs circa 1870-1899. I play in National( USA)and International( Canada) tournaments. There are not many of us. My favorite golfer is one who is not known by manny. His name is F.G.Tait- known as Freddie. His background was Scottish military. He was a Sandhurst cadet, and serves as a Lt. in the 2nd Batallion of the Black Watch.Unfortunatey, his life and great amateur golfing career was ended in February 1900 in Koodoosberg. A Boer sniper got him as he was leading his men in a small skirmish. Freddie was a part time amateur golfer who had most of the low scores of his day. Not many could beat Freddie. Had Freddie lived, he probably would have the best of all time in his era.
All of us owe a great deal of respect and support toward the men and women- like you- who help all of us live in a safe free world.
Keep us posted.
Thanks
