I've been reading alot of the posts and see a good number of you use these humi beads. What are they and are they better than traditional humidification.

They are better than anything else in my opinion. Go to http://www.heartfeltindustries.com This is where we all buy our beads, and the site will tell you everything you'd ever want to know. There are similar options, but I decided to try these beads and I haven't been dissapointed. good luck

They really work well man, read up on them on the link that Jesse52 gave you. The nice thing is that you can tell when it's time to add water by just looking at the beads and seeing their clarity. They hold the humidity steady as anything. I even have some in the same humidor as my cigar oasis to be double sure.

Welcome to the forum - great question!

Paypal is extremely secure. All you've gotta know actually is that Paypal will never send anything that links to sign-ins. I have a password vault controlled by my fingerprint that will automatically enter the password. Programs like that would be your only concern.

I read somewhere once in the not too distant past that PayPal is actually a pretty shoddy company. Whilst I've never really had any problems with them, many people have and have lost various amounts of money. There is actually a class action lawsuit against them. In the past they have locked people's accounts for no reason, not allowing them to access their own money, letting it just sit there with no interest paid. Then charging the people money to unlock their accounts. I don't use PayPal anymore.

I set up a PP account a few years back. I opened a separate checking account at a local back, a student account that pays no interest and charges no fees for the sole purpose that if PP gets weird, I'm only on the hook for the money in the account. They have no info on my primary checking account whatsoever.

I've had good results so far, but I've heard horror stories.

When I purchase beads from heartfelt I was able to use my AMEX Card. I had no problem with that. I do have a PayPal account that I only use when I shop on EBAY. And PayPal takes the money out of my MasterCard or my AMEX. I don't think anyone else sells those beads do they?

I won’t use PayPal. I have been told stories about them and I have decided to just stay clear. I went to buy some beads but saw the PayPal link and never have went back yet. I think they take checks.

I was able to purchase my heartfelt beads with my Visa... no PayPal required.

After I learned about Heartfelt Industries on this board I placed an order online and selected the personal check option. They confirmed my order and sent my beads out the next day without waiting for my check to even get there. I thanked David for the fast service. Regards

Paypal is too sketchy (yeah I know, California is rubbing off on me). I paid by VISA as well when I ordered my beads. I don't have time to deal with AOL, I mean eBay...I mean Paypal :?

FYI, I know it's been said before but never, ever mention that the transaction is cigar-related. Otherwise Paypal will happily cancel your account.

I don't use paypal but don't understand why they would cancel an order if it is cigar related.

I think it has to do with the ATF cracking down on underage tobacco sales. Until they come up with a better screening procedure than "are you over 21, click yes or no," this will probably be the norm.

I would like to thank you all for the info. I have a three hundred count humi, a seventy-five, and a fifty. I have a hard time keeping my 300 humi regulated. Right now I'm using an oasis seems to work alright but will not go higher than 62%. I think I will order some beads and see if that will help.

Thank you all for the input and the heads up on Paypal.

Don't be too concerned about that low humidity - it won't harm your cigars - unless you are getting burn issues. Do a search on this forum for that topic, and you willl find a lot of usefull info.

I ahe been using Paypal for Ebay transactions for 6 years now and have never had a problem. That said, I don't keep a large balance, and keep an eye on my credit card for any unusual transactions.

The beads are the way to go -safe, realiable, and easy to maintain. You can always tell when to add more water - the color change is very obvious.

Good luck, and welcome to this great forum where there is NO such thing as a dumb question!

Is Heartfelt the only place to get these beads? To they make them?

You can make your own from some type of Kitty litter.
There is a thread around hre somewhere?
Basically the same thing, but you need to train them to hold the right RH. BUT - They cost much less!

Other than that this is the only cmpany I know of at this time.

There is a similar product marketed by Bargain Humidors, though I have not tried them

I went to Heartfelt and ordered some beads. Used my visa without any issues. I found the cost to be not bad at all. Especially when you consider that you are using them to protect your cigars that are irreplacable.
