how quick does this gel take to get the humidor (around 20 cigar size) to 70% humidity, like if i opened the humidor how lond would it take to get it back to normal
Mine doesn't. My gel is "65-70% gel" Well, maybe it would if I left it closed for days. The last time I rearranged things in there it was at about 61% when I went back to get a smoke out a few minutes later. A few hours later it was up to 65%. Overnight it'll get to 66%.
I wouldn't worry about it if it doesn't. A few percent doesn't matter much, and a lot of folks prefer thier cigars at 65%.
well i like to open it and take a cigar out to smell it or show people and was wanderin if the time out of the humidor would hurt it. but yea there are alot of factors of the humidity, but i have no idea of the rh. average i guess, its in a college dorm room, but i was just wanderin if it took a few min or a while, but oh well

It doesn't sound like what you got going on there is something to worry about in anyway.
I gather your saying the desktop stays at 70% if left alone and when you open it & show someone a cigar does it hurt anything?
If so no I would not worry about it.
I wouldn't just leave the humidor sitting open for very long,
but it should be fine!
