humidor upkeep

I just got my first humidor and i have a question.
i travel alot with my college debate team. is there a means to easily maintain my humidor while i am gone for a few days. do those boveda packs and such work? im just worried that i will return some night to find a bunch of dried out sticks. thanks alot for the help...

boveda packs will do fine, i believe they last a month or more. so a few days should be no problem, just change them when they run out.

Season your humidor using these instructions.

After seasoning, you want to keep one of those boveda packs or a water pillow in the humidor. I actually keep a water pillow in it, as well as keeping the crappy foam thingy that came with the humidor charged.

Do yourself a big favor. Go to heartfelt ind. on the web and get some BEADS. 70% if your keeping non-cubans, 65% if you have some Cubans hid away. The "beads" will take care of your Humi.

Be careful when "wiping down" your humi. Using too much water could result in a stain or warped cedar.
