Interesting perspective on New Orleans

EDIT: I posted this before reading a couple other posts from Acharpe where he basically apologized. Good to see it is getting worked out

It is just too bad it had to be a squabble between him and Jihiggs. Jihiggs has been a faithful member in good stading here for sometime. He is probably one of the only "regulars" I never had a chance to converse with. I did learn alot through his posts however. I think I can speak for most, if not all, when I say he will truly be missed.

I smoked some great cigars in NO a few weeks ago. 8)

Interesting article indeed.

nmcowboy,

pm me your address. I have diplomas from each of the releases over the past three years. It is fun to smoke them side by side so you can see how the flavor has changed over time. I think the current blends is the best. Cowboy, if you pm me your addy I will get the pack into the mail.

ya...i got lotsa great memories from my trip to narlins
unfortunately while i was eatin lunch on that wrought iron balcony you see in all the movies a black guy fataly shot a japanese tourist in the belly just around the corner
now what could have made me think of that
i aint no supporter of georgie dub but while everyone else is pointin fingers in his defence i gotta say that the fact that the thai tsunami survivors werent shooting holes in the rescue coptors did expedite things slightly as compared to NO

I agree with Capt again, jhiggs will be missed. Mac, I think you did what you do best, spur a conversation, the down side to this one is this one is loaded with emotion and confusion. I have friends who's homes still lie under feet of water in new orleans, and I consider it one of my favorite places to visit. I feel things were handled the way that any disaster of this caliber is handled, mindlessly. You have nothing to base your comparisons, unless someone here was around for the 1909 (I think?) category 5 that hit the gulf? At any rate, it was mentioned by I think sailor that the thai folks weren't shooting holes in the rescue copters, and while I agree with him that was a damn shame in NO, I would ask the question, How many wall marts were there in Thailand to loot for free shotguns, long rifles, and ammo? Just being silly. But in all seriousness, i love this forum and I respect everyone of the regulars opinions as that of a close friend. The new peoples thoughts are most definately appreciated, and over time will register the same as the regulars soon enough. My point to this whole line of crap is that Katrina was a horrible tragedy on many levels and I only hope and pray that the people down there get through this swiftly and as safetly as possible, and after everything returns to whatever the new normal will be, that someone learns some Sh*t from this!!!

Hope I made some sense somewhere....I'm very tired today.... If I ticked someone off...Flame on I suppose....But over all, I love me a cigar!

Your BOTL,
Paul
