Xikiar they are great

I will have to stop by my local store and see if they have one. Maybe pick up a few more padrons while I am there

I have a couple of Xikar Executive and a Vector Titan that are great lighters. I use Vector fuel in all of the lighters I have.

Ended up getting an Xikar elements lighter and 4 Padron 1926 40th anniversary smokes!!!!

I like my Xikar alot - but I also had a Colibri that had a punch on the bottom - served me well for a long, long time. Lost it on the golf course....Doh!!!!

I found a Colibri lighter with a cigar punch on the golf course. Saw it was Kelvins, and decided to never tell him about it. -jk-

The only thing I find on the golf course are cigar nubs. Some people! Sheesh!

I was hoping to be on the course in a couple of weeks - right now we have 6 inches of snow on the ground with about another 6 on the way! Too hot to golf - cut it out!

I guese it is never to hot. I play alot of summer golf when it is well over 100 here. It's a DRY HEAT!

I was in Palm Desert on Sunday - 92 degrees - now I will be shoveling a foot of snow - oh the humanity!

Good luck with the new lighter, man....and the Padrons!!!!

I detest torch lighters. They have, even the best of them, invariably failed me at some time or another. I only have one now and I only use that one when in the most extreme of wind conditions.

I use flint/soft flame lighters. I prefer their dependability and durableness. I also prefer their slighter flame temperature than torch lighters emit. In my opinion, they make for a better smoking experience, as they don't "overheat" the tobacco.

I share the general low regard many cigar enthusiasts have for Colibri. However, they also make the lighter I have grown to love. It is a beast for punishment. It also has a reservoir window to show me how much lighter fluid is in it, and it holds a lot of fluid. It has an attached double blade guillotine cutter that, quite frankly, is of poor quality but has come to my aid when in a pinch.

This is it. The Colibri CEO Elite, model #FTR267001:

I've got one of those monster Rocky Patel lighters. It's about 6" tall & is shaped sort of like a pistol, except the trigger is on the back (thumb button)
It holds a good half can of butane, and has a lock button for continuous flame. It's also got seperate adjustments for air & fuel.

It's also a bit of a tank. My local shop's had one on the counter as the house lighter for about a year, and it still works perfectly. I bought one shortly after they put the thing out, and I think I've filled it a total of 3 times. It lasts me 3-4 months without refueling lighting one stick/day, and I like to light my cigars w/o drawing on them.

I think it's based on tool rather than being designed as a lighter. It looks a lot like a number of butane mini-torches I've seen marketed for electronics work. A friend of mine has one & he's used his for soldering a couple times. He does stage lighting, and has used it for field repairs on equipment.

I've also got a Colibri Firebird. I only use it when I'm out & not at the cigar shop. It runs out of fuel way too fast, so I carry a BIC as a backup.

I like my Colibri. Although I haveve only used it for 3 months now. I got it mainly because I like the style of the lighter. The name of my ligher is Retro 2. I also perfer to use stick matches if it isn't windy outside.

I use a big box of kitchen matches when I'm home. Strike two at the same time and have all the flame I need. When it's windy or I'm going out, I bring along my Colibri triple flame wife got me a few years ago for our anniversary. Only problem I have with it is using it in daylight. Can't tell if it struck or not unless I feel it.

Ouch!

I bought a Nibo a while ago for about 20 bucks and I like it, but the tank is too small. The neat part is that it does regular flame (which I use for lighting), and a torch that is good for touch up.

I also carry a cheap Bic that I use for backup. There you go!!
