My visit to the Qtr. Deck

So I got to spend a little time with Vince at the Qtr. Deck. Wish I could have hung out more and also wish I wouldn't have missed the friday night get together that I should have been at. Next time I am up there my schedule shouldn't be so busy with wedding activities.

Looks like a good time was had by all. Different color scheme, but Vince's frames are the same style as Elvis'.
 
the last pic is obviously not the qtr. deck, its the half assembled wedding reception area. It is my uncle and I in the pic.
 
That's not Vince! That guys is 1/3 the size of Vince! :lol: Oh, and "Vince", nice socks! :shock: Glad you two freaks got to meet. I've spoken to Vince several times via phone but still haven't met him. Bildo, however, I have met, and he's a great guy; still a kid in my book, but great nonetheless. Meetings of this sort are always a treat and never disappoint! :wink:
 
im gunna be heading to vince country tomorrow. unfortunately, i am all booked for the two days and wont be able to pay visit to the legend himself. (that and i wasnt invited...)

im glad you had fun though and with any luck maybe ill be able to share a smoke with vince some day.

ahh...yes...the quarter deck.
I'm partial to the rocking chair...

you missed a great sit down on friday....I think there was 10 or 12 of us....

you carolina guys aren't doing too well...first eclipse...then bildo blows us off....we're getting a complex

I think the next time carolina wants to have a sit down in PA, you'll have to send up a box of good cigars first...a good faith measure :lol:
 
Kuzi - what are you coming into town for? I work downtown, so if you're down this way, maybe you'd be up for grabbing some lunch?
 
You dont need an invatation to the Qtr.Deck , it is Open to every one as long as I am at home, drop me a line for the phone number, the adress is right in the Location, , mapquest is easy & the directions are good , I am just 5 minutes from the Pa Turnpike & I 79 interchange , very easy to get to .



Bildo glad you could make it , maybe next time you can stay longer & we can get a few guys over for some single malt & a few cigars

You need to be careful if you visit, the couch I'm sitting on in the pic is extremely comfortable... you may fall asleep.
 
TT, the sox are for supporting the tired old legs , for many years they had to hold up a ton of $hit , now not so much , but the veins just dont work as well as they should ! dammmm its tuff getting old !
Doc T , my grandsons made the cigar band frames the big one with the hand prints was made by the 10 year old . 8 year old & him colabrated on the rest of them, but you dont see much of them in the photos , the walls are covered with cigar smokers , as you see George Burns in the back ground .
Ahh yes the coush is comfortable, I have had many good naps on it over the years , I wanted to " Christen" the Qtr.Deck but since the door will not lock from the inside, My wife said NO way, one of your friends might walk in on us ! hahahaha I dont see a problem with that but she did !

Vince, you truly are a lucky guy. The Qtr. Deck looks great and I'm sure just about every cigar smoker out there wishes he had someplace like that to hang out and smoke. I know I do!!!

btw, it might be worth the small investment to get a lock installed :wink:

it will lock from the outside , & If I am not inside it is locked about 95% of the time, anyway I am not going to fight about the "christening " of the Qtr.Deck she has her ideas & I have mine, we have been together 36 years so what ever she wants is OK with me , Now if its her idea well that an other story hahaha , the only time I am not in there is when I am in the bathroom, thats about the only thing missing from the Qtr.Deck , but then I would need to clean it, well this way it is less to clean, didnt need to tap the water lines or the sewer lines , , the phone & intercom are wireless , it has its own heat & a/c so there is no reason to bother the wife unless some one needs to GO, & if its dark, there is a tree................. hahahaha Enjoy, Vince
 
Vince, suppose someone needs to "make No. 2." Do they still have to use the tree?

And as far as you and the missus "christening" the quarterdeck, just walk outside, lock the door to the quarterdeck, walk around back inside the house, and through the house to the quarterdeck. It will then be locked, and none of your cigar friends will walk in on you.

IF they need to make #2 I would hope they went inside but if your so drunk you cant get inside then I guess the tree is the next best thing, BUT it is a pine tree & I dont think you would want to wipe with its leaves hahahaha
The Qtr.Deck is not accessable from the inside of the house, you must go OUTside to go in , it is Completely seperate from the house , a free standing building , just off the front porch between the house & drive way , just one big 56 inch door( I made it so I could get in with out turning sideways hahahahaha ) & 6 windows in the smoking room. , it has its own power hookup with 50 amp service , 220V base board heating & its own seperate A/C unit , & the exaust fan for when the "SMOKE" gets thick !
hey it might get Christened some day , maybe not by me & the wife , , my grandson has a girlfriend hahahahahaha , NOW before I get a lecture on that last comment , he is only 10 , I dont think he will be doing that any time soon, but knowing his grandmother & the way HE is with the girls, he has a better shot than I do hahahaha !
