my name is laura. the only connection i have to cigars is through my boyfriend and some other friends. I've never smoked one myself. Although I must admit the aroma from my friend's cigars is quite tantalizing. Maybe some day. umm..... yup. I think that's all.

one thing i learned, if your serious dont bother with cheap stuff, get a good cutter that wont mangle the cigar and dont play around with junk lighters, they just create a headache.
I will second the cheap cutter dont's. Make sure they are NOT single blade cutters. Double blades cut from each side, vs. the single blade cutting from one side and smashing the other side of the cigar. Welcome, this is definitely the place to learn, with alot of people more than willing to help out. Feel free to ask ANY question you have, regardless of how unimportant you think it might be. But don't be suprised if you get more than 10 answers by the end of the day.
