Capt, I am presently down in the People's Republic of Ann Arbor. Where are you located?

Joe

Ahh!! Ann Arbor. Love it. I am in Commerce Twp/Novi area. My Sister in-law is a hair stylist in Ann Arbor, so I frequent AA when my wife goes to get her hair cut. If you ever make it out Novi way, stop in at the Novi Chop House located inside hotel Barronette, and you will probably find me hiding in the cigar lounge... Seriously, if you are ever out this way let me know and we can meet up for some sticks and scotch.

Thanks again for the warm welcome everyone.

Capt, I will definately let you know next time I am out that way. It is hard to think of two things that go together better than scotch and cigars. Looking forward to it.

See Joe, you just barely signed in, and already getting invited for a smoke. Thats the kind of people that hang around on this forum.

And by the way, welcome to our madness, but be warned, cigars are a path to the darkside they are.

Hey everybody, name Ben Kern, and i got into smoking from a friend. On my 18 Birthday, whch was like 4 months ago, my british neiborgh friend(a lot older than myslef) got me into a poker game at his house. He has a huge humidor which is entirely filled, and offered me one. I was hooked then and there. Any advice and things i should know about while smoking is greatly appreciated.

Ben

HI all,

My name's Jason im 28 years old and have been smoking for approx 3yrs. I hade my first "REAL" cigar at Fiores inside the RIO in Las Vegas. It was a Greycliff Dika Championship ring. My first draw and I was hooked. To this day it remains as one of my all time favorites. Some of my others are Padron 1926, Casa de Fuente, Davidoff overruns, Fuente Fuente Opus X.

Welcome to the forum, greens26!

What part of SO-Cal are you from?
<- As you can see, I'm in Torrance.

Welcome Ben and Jason. Jason, you have good taste. Expensive but good.

Ben, Get a very big humidor, season it and then start trying as much as you can. Also, listen to what people on this forum have to say. No one minds ansering questions and you will not be flamed :flameon: for asking questions that have already been answered. There are a real good group of guys (and Brenda) here.

Hi all-
My name is Brent, I'm in Norman, Oklahoma (Boomer Sooner!!). I've been smoking cigars occasionally for about 5 years, but things really took off when I quit cigarettes about a year ago. I'm a shooting enthusiast (and NRA/NAA instructor). Unfortunately, I've taken the 8 year plan in college, so pursuing the shooting sports and cigar smoking on a student's budget has kept things kinda small scale. I finally graduate in May, and hope to have a little more resources to devote to my vices.
My old roommate worked at a tobacconist, so I've tried a lot of sticks, but that was back a ways when I first started, and I can't tell you what I smoked. More recently: I tried an Opus X on impulse. Have to say I didn't do any backflips. I bought a single (and then a box of) cuban Cohibas in Jamaica on my honeymoon. They're quite tasty, and I think I got lucky and scored genuine. For as little as I knew at the time, it was just luck. My old roomie hooked me up with a box of Sancho Panzas for the bachelor party. Why is no one tooting that horn around here? What a smoke at a reasonable price! I have to say, though, that my favorite smoke to date has been the Cohiba XV 749. As soon as I can clear my mistake out of my humi (a Thompson bundle), I'll need a box of those.
I've been lurking about for a month now, finally decided to pipe up (and join the Cusano 18 guessing contest). Have gained LOADS of knowledge from this place; you guys rock!

Welcome! You guys found a great forum. The folks here are a great bunch of guys.

Thank you all for the welcome. Im looking forward to trading notes with you all. BTW I live specifically in Rancho Cucamonga and I know my favorites are a bit pricey but their nice to have once a week. The time in between I like to smoke the Davidoff overruns, an Indios Puros every now and then, and CAO Carillos.

Hello all, My name is Rick. I've been smoking for about 8yrs. My favs are CAO, Hoyo, Avo, Diablo, Fuente, And Punch. I recently purchased a box of Cao Italia and they were great. An excellent smoke after dinner. I look forward to talking with a group of people that enjoy the things that I do.
