See what happens when you put a waiting period on this!?
I say just just let it go the way it's been going or have people wait 1 week only. This whole, "if it's not him, then I'll be your..." is going to get confusing.
Most of the fun was the "game" aspect of it.
I, personally, have won this enough times to take a long break from it.
My personal belief is that everyone playing should make their own decision on how long they should wait before jumping back in. If you feel like you have won it too many times, then by all means, take a break.
Play this however you want to play it, though.

I see your point DD - I just think that it should eliminate any arguments later on if we have a minimum waiting period.
A few weeks ago someone posted their question - and noone was biting. It had only been a week or so and I decided to just grab it. Someone stepped in afterwards and said they would take it because I was too soon. I stepped aside without an argument and made light of it - after that, I was convinced that it should be written in the rules.

Just from earlier posts of, "Who's the mooch now, anyway?" or "i will be your amback mooch...that is if so and so is in fact not eligable yet?", really does take the fun out of it.

Kelvin suggested something in a PM that sounds fun to me. It looks like the majority here want this thing to just flow smoothly, but do we have enough interest for a separate "Fun & Games PIF"? It wouldn't have to be just math problems; it could be cigar trivia, riddles, obscure historical facts, whatever you think other members might get a kick out of. Anyone who has an opinion, weigh in, and I'll start a new thread if there's enough interest. Anyone who has an objection should weigh in as well; I saw that someone tried to start a new PIF earlier, and was vetoed.

I think a thread like that could be fun - it's worth a try in my opinion.

I think it is worth a try. I would suggest naming it something other than PIF though, just so that part is clear.
Edit: Personally I think Bob is right too though. Only thing is I do not think it would be a great idea to have several of these "contests" going on all at the same time...at least this way, most of it is contained to a single thread. (not to prohibit anyone from starting a contest thread on their own though. Alex's contest was great, and I still owe dbrad a nice thankyou for the great prize I got from his contest....Dean PM me your addy, man!)

I'm thinking "Fun & Ganmes PIF", with rules like CC's, except, the contest itself will serve as part of the "waiting period"; we'd cut the time between wins to one week. We could also set a rule that if a contest goes without a winner for a week, the contest author has to submit a hint or a new contest. I think this would be fun to always have some sort of challenge on the board, but keep it to one thread, rather than having them all over the place. I don't want this to preempt big contests though, like the Cusano deal.

BP is into conserving his energy now (very helpful at his advanced age) so I am trying to help him out since he would post that sooner or later.
I would leave off the PIF just so no one gets confused. I have enough trouble folowing one but we will see how it works.

A new thread should be generatated outside of this PIF thread for conversing about the new "games" contest rules and stuff, like "New Fun & Games pre-start talks" or something.
