show the goods

OK, so I pick up my 11-year old daughter from school today and tell her I have some errands to run. She asks where and I tell her, among other places, I need to go to the cigar store. "Cool," she replies, "I've always wanted to see the inside of that place."

While we are in the humidor she asks all kinds of questions, like, "Dad, how can you tell a good cigar from a cheap one." Of course, I give her answers like I really know what I'm talking about

When we get home I tell her that I need to organize my humidor so I can take a picture of it. She volunteers to do it for me. Here is the result of her work...

PS Cobsgirl - you may see a few Makers Marks lurking at the bottom...

mmm, i duck hunted in the last year. probably not a good idea for me to have one as a pet :)
not to mention it is one of my favorite dishes

You bethcha - I'm not smart enough yet to get these fine cigars without a little help from my friends :)

Besides, I wasn't braggin' about my collection - I was braggin' about my daughter.

i like your collection, there are some nice choices in there. I think i will post new pics with all those boxes in the humi open. most of them are full of random cigars. only box in there that actually has what is on the label is the JDN celbracion corona. I also have a box of padron 1926 #9 at my humidor at the club :D Those might be the finest smokes out there. That is for me though, everyone has their taste.

Smoked my first Rocky Patel last night - really enjoyed this one! Beautifully constructed, complex flavours and plenty of thick smoke. Will be buying a few more of these.

As for the ducklings...do not even think about touching my ducks... :m16:

Way to start the kid on cigars early in life! I've had asthma all my life so anything that I could possibly inhale was kept far far away from me. You should have seen the trouble I got in when my mother found a few cigars hidden in one of my drawers when I was 18! That didn't go over very well.

:cryinlaugh: :cryinlaugh: :cryinlaugh:

As one with Deteriorating Asthma and a cigar smoker for the past eight and a half years (not to mention anything else  ), you have a brother in the room, lady.

i had asthma when i was a kid, it got me out of doing laps in phys ed. and i dont have it anymore lol, havent had an attack in at least 15 years or so.

Old Pictures of Humidors

Here are some pics I took a few months ago, now my Opus have been moved to a fuente box, and there is a little more in the cabinet. I'll try to post some newer ones when I get a chance....

Well, I have smoked a few cheap cigars with my redneck buddies, but I primarily chew, Skoal Mint

HOWEVER, I do partake in the Pipe Tobacco

I have a nice pipe, and I enjoy it...plus, not to many individuals smoke pipe tobacco, its original, and mosquittos hate it

I'll post pictures of my pipe and tobacco in a few

i smoke a pipe as well, i love it
i cant say i like it more or less than cigars, its just different

i also smoke a pipe, but its not worth taking a pic of. It is a $6 corn cob pipe. It is a great smoke though.

here's my humi..

Hey Bildo, I noticed you isolate your opus x away from your other cigars with a divider. I do that too with my 1964's and 1926's! (Though they aren't pictured in this photo.. only one 1964 is)

Yeah, my humi was packed full of gran habanos because I got a box. It's an old pic.. I had to rearrange everything when I got 25 various brands of cigars from my loving girlfriend. =] Sorry, but no updated pic of that =\ I was referring to the humidor with the new cigars. Not my girlfriend. haha

Okay here is the cabinet I keep at home. Note the box for the Diplomas. That baby is an enlarged Diploma box that was used for a display at a retial store. It can hold over 4 boxes of Diploma. Which is good becuase 18 at a time just was not cutting it.

The lighter colored bands on the right side are the original blend from a few years ago production. They have mellowed out a lot.
