Storm went north of us so instead of 6+ inches of snow we got flurries and a bit above freezing. Smoked a Gurkha Blue Steel Torpedo (no.1) in the morning and a Devil's Weed robust after lunch.
Zino Classic torpedo. A rather mild cigar with a little sweetness here and there, got stronger in the last third. Nice to sit outside and smoke a good cigar, but still a bit cold with a high of around 38. I have another and will try it come nicer weather.
Crappy weather coming tonight so I grabbed a Vigilante Corojo robusto and smoked it. Good, with a bit of flavor that I couldn't describe.I have four more to judge in better weather.
La Palina El Diario K B - #19 on Cigar Aficionados top 25 cigars for 2012.
I've been going through the top 25 and found that I generally disagree with C.A. choices. But I found this cigar really good. It's flavor smoked really well throughout. Although it is considered a fuller bodied cigar it wasn't harsh or any of the flavors overpowering. My only complaint is I had a hard time keeping it even during the smoke.
Yesterday - Pinar Del Rio reserve limitada selection 10 robusto- Not as good as the last one I smoked. The wrapper was rather mottled and veiny. It was still good but I expected better. Had a honduran factory corojo lonsdale later in the day and a Hoyo in the morning.
Today -Punch Maduro churchill- a good smoke followed by a late day pipe.
Got into the high 30's so I decided to try a Bohemian Red Corojo Special Figurado. Looked pretty good and my first chisel head cigar. Like previous Victor Sinclair cigars it was nothing to talk about, no flavor little if any tobacco taste and a bit harsh from time to time. Unfortunately I have several more to suffer through. I swear there was an old post here that said they were pretty good.
