anybody have any secret ingredients they add before bottling? I'm trying to lightly sweeten some before I bottle, but I still end up with a tart aftertaste. I know this is a dry wine, but I figure someone would know how to tone it down a wee bit.
Well, I've popped open my first Chimay Blue Ale. Man, this thing is full of flavor. A couple of months ago, South Carolina lifted it's archaic law that only allowed beers with 5% alcohol or lower to be sold in the state. This Chimay is the first of the "new" beers that I've tried since the law...
The Napa Valley Register reports that Charles Shaw Chard. won 1st prize in a blind taste test at the stste fair as best Calf. Chard. The stuff is flying off of the shelves at Trader Joes.
Anybody ever try this stuff? I saw a bottle at Safeway this evening and grabbed it. I wanted to get a bottle of Evan Walker after the earlier thread regarding Jack Daniel's going from 90 proof to 80 proof w/o letting anybody know, but Safeway doesn't carry it so thought I'd give this a try. I...
All,
The advice from some of the fine gentlemen on this forum prompted me to seek additional information. Although I truely like some of the more full bodied beers, Rolling Rock is my "everyday" beer of choice.
I sent an e-mail to Rolling Rock asking about their filtration and here's the...
Well, about six or seven months ago I got diagnosed with Crohns Disease, an inflammatory condition of the bowel. I was forbidden to drink by my doctor due to the medication I was taking. About six weeks ago, I was able to cut back on the medication and can have a drink or two here or there...
I'm so bummed. I'm a huge beer lover and I recently found out I'm alergic to yeast. I have a raging case of asthma brought about by allergies, so I got tested and yeast is a major irritant to me.
I'm taking immunotherapy, but it will probably be at least a year before I can have the...
Yo, Bloof,
Not knowing any more about the subject than I do, I accept all that you said regarding sulfites as being correct. I didn't think the thread regarding Gin drinks in the summertime was the proper place to respond to that information, however, hence this new thread.
If, as you...
newspaper, an interesting article on barrel making. I still check the web site from time to time, just to keep up with things in the region I spent the past seven years in.

Well, bourbon never goes out of season for me, but when the temps start to climb, nothing hits the spot for me like a tumbler with a few ice cubes and two fingers of gin.
Currently, my gin of choice is the outstanding Hendricks Gin. Distilled in Scotland, it is infused with cucumber and rose...
Okay guys, I went out and tried something different. I picked up a six-pack of Anheuser Busch's Redbridge Sorghum Beer, Redbridge. I wasn't expecting much, but I was pleasantly surprised.
I knew that sorghum beer was popular in Africa. However, that style of beer differs greatly from...
I got my invation last night from the Small Batch Bourbon people at Jim Beam. Next week Fred and one of the "Experts" will be in town for a tasting. They picked a BBQ place that is Cigar Friendly. Now I have to deciede what cigars to bring along. Big Decision!
I'm new to using a forum for anything so if I goof up, please let me know. My question has to do with Evan Williams 1783 10 year old sour mash bourbon - - not to be confused with the 10 year old single barrel stuff.
I've been in e-mail contact with HeavenHill Distillery trying to locate a...
Does anyone know of an on-line source for the Weller 19 year old whiskey? The Woodford Reserve is just too "hot" in comparison. If I can't find the Weller 19, I'll settle for the 12 year old which I can get locally.
