I am almost finished seasoning my first humidor and I have the Humi beads I ordered from Heartfelt based on another thread so now what? There were no instructions and I am not sure do I just place the tube in with my sticks? can they touch? is there a holder etc. :?

some would argue against placing the tube besides your cigars.

An easy solution and what I did: run to the hardware store and get a small section of adhesive backed velcro strips. place a strip on both sides of your tube (the cap is where I placed mine) and the other side of the velcro to the inner top of your humidor.

Good Idea thanks, do I have to wet them or am I ready to go? I was confused by the prior thread discussing beads versus crystals etc.

Yes, you have to wet them. There's a few opinions as to "how" you should apply the distilled water. I just use a spray bottle filled with distilled water, take the caps off (one at a time) and spritz the ends.

They say they should be about 60% opaque and 40% white.

You can get away with just adding a teaspoon or so to each end but the beads tend to crack this way. it doesnt effect how they work but you could get a little bit of the fragments in your humidor.

Can I place the beads once wet in the inexpensive humidifier that came with the humi instead of water? I understand when you use water in these inexpensive devices it may leak on to your precious contents.

Replacing the credo

I like to reuse the same holders that the credo came in. You can also use things such as aquarium filter bags, nylons old cigar boxes and such. To do this you need to open them up. I take a small screw driver and place it in the seam between the top and bottom halves. With a little twisting motion you can get the two to come apart. Throw the green foam away. I usually lay a small piece of screen and lay it on each side of the two halves, Nylons will also work well for this. I then fill one side with beads till it is a heaping mound. gently place the other half on top and shake a bit to distribute the beads. The two halves should snap back together. When using the Co xl plus you need to fill a bowel with water and invert the cartridge in the water and let it sit for 5 minutes. I never think it is needed to soak the wood directly as that can cause the grain to raise.
