MId West Sit-down 2006

I am pulling together some vendor sponsorship so there will plenty of cigars for those in attendance. Last years midwest sit down at sullivans in Chicago was a blast. Hope to see everyone at this one.

How about some more details for us newcomers. I see this post was started in January, but there's quite a few of us who have just recently joined and don't have all the particulars for this event. I know its the 17th at 4 p.m., but that's all the info I see. This sounds like something I might be interested in attending, especially since I live in Michigan, but I would appreciate more info if someone wouldn't mind taking the time to post it.

Thanks Alot!

I will leave the details for Capt to explain in terms of time and location. I can say there will be a ton of cigars. Off the top of my head we have contributions from:

Graycliff
Gurkha
Punch
Macanudo
Puros Indios
Rocky Patel
Cusano
CAO
Camacho
5 Vegas
Sol Cubano

and a host of others.

Sadly, I will not be able to take the road trip this year. Just too much going on. I hope you guys have a great time. It would be really cool to meet Capt., Alex and the rest of the midwest crew.

I have been planning a sit-down cigar-b-q at my house for June 17th. There are several members from another cigar board coming (including the infamous Bildo). Each year for the past 5 years my wife and I have a BBQ at our house. We usually have a theme, last year was an 80's theme. I am unvailing my new built in humidor this year. Everyone is welcome. We provide food (including several wild game meats i.e. deer, buffalo, pheasant, quail, partridge, bear and whatever else is in the freezer) beer, and side dishes. If anyone wishes to attend, you can PM me for further details. Our house is in Commerce Twp Mi, so if you would like, I can provide directions, and a list of hotels in the area. We also have gun range within 1/2 mile, so you can bring out you arsenal, before the alcohol of course. I look forward to seeing some new faces this year! Ryan

This is going to be a great event. I cant even put into words how many cigars are going to be there. Meat, cigars, beer, oh my god I need to sit down

Well, I'm definitely coming (and bringing my small collection of firearms) and my wife will probably be coming too - confirmation of that is pending.

I have to make sure the range is open, but I dont think it will be a problem. I have received more PM's today telling me whos coming, than I have received all year!! Man, this is gonna be awesome!!

I won't be able to make it, unfortunately. There's just too much stuff going on and I can't get away.

Capt....I really want to go to this...I'm not sure if it will work out...there is an event in June that I need to go up in Sonoma....it's a big event with a lot of cigar manu;s like Cusano and about 30 wineries...I have to go cover it for Advocate.

It might not be that weekend I'll have to check my reservations. Other than that flights may be a little tough for my girl and I to pull off.....She has booked nearly every weekend of the summer with events and vacations....

I'll going to try...I hope I don't miss this one, especially after putting up the first midwest sitdown at Sulllivan's last year....We;ll see what I can pull off....

No problem Thor. I am sure we can still meet up in Chicago sometime this summer. You just won't be able to eat my ribs, thats all.....

I'll be able to find out this week for sure if I can make it or not Capt.

Thor, what is the name of the event in Sonoma?
If the public is allowed to be there I may just have to check it out.

OH MY GOD.... THE MAN THAT SHARES MY PALATE MAY MAKE IT TO THE MIDWEST SIT DOWN. Axe this is a proud day and I hope to see you there. I would be interested to hear about what you have been smoking these days since we have the same preferences.

On a side note, the Sanoma event is the weekend of the 10th. I am not sure on the name or any other details.
