cigar lighters

It's reviving old thread time again,

I just bought myself a Nibo with a can of Butane at my local Outdoor supply store. Went in to buy some water bottles, came out with a torch and some fuel. The bad news: I have to wait untill after Christmas to use it. Oh well, such is life.

There you go!

I use the torch lighter that came with my tword combo when its windy outside. If it isnt windy, I use sulphur-free matches.

After posting in this thread I received the Z Plus which works GREAT. Initially however I had a slight problem. The Zippo I bought the Z Plus for was actually a Slim Line version and I never knew it! So naturally, I had to buy a new Zippo for my Z plus! :D

Now both the new Zippo and the Z Plus are working together in harmony to produce a really nice strong consistent flame. It's now my favorite lighter.

I too, ran out and bought one of these Z Plus lighters. It's awesome. I was bummed that I had a Zippo I don't use anymore (from back when I was a smoker.) Now, I have that warm, fuzzy feeling again (knowing that my Zippo is safe with me.)

I also have a Colibri Robusto lighter. It's nice but, the Z Plus is now my favorite.

Dupont Extend - best lighter I have ever owned!!!!!!!!!

I have a few cheap'Os I use - but
my Extend has never let me down!

I have a Colibri Trinidad and a mini pocket torch that my best friend gave me 10+ years ago, and it still works!.

I use a Bic lighter most of the time, though I have experimented with alternate fuels for my zippo.

Denatured alcohol seems to be the best out of a zippo, but it doesn't produce a big enough flame.

FWIW, I would never light a good cigar with a zippo.

im sick of messing with low capacity lighters. i always have trouble refilling mine. nothing worse than thinking you got a full lighter, start lighting a cigar and its barely got anything in it. ive been thinking of using a propane torch, does propane give a bad taste to cigars lit with it?

I just use a cheap one for now...but definitely going to upgrade to the Dupont X-Tend pretty soon!!

Quick question, and maybe stupid... but, how do I know which Zippo I have (Slim Line or other)?

I found my old Zippo, and it's a Classic Brushed Chrome, vXIII.

Thanks

Go to Zippo.com, they list the size of the lighters on the site ( I can't remember them off-hand.) Almost all Zippos are a standard same size, the few Slim lines will be listed with different measurements.

Yay! No more cheapie. Now lighting up with an Air Force Zippo with Z Plus insert.

BTW, be careful with the Z plus; it can REALLY put out a flame, has the capability to shoot an un-aimed flame clear up a nostril and clear out the nasal hair...

NOT that it ever happened to me....

I recently purchased a Colibri Quantum with triple flame, but I'm still using my Cigar II; a very reliable lighter.

Thanks BP. By looking at the pictures at the site, I know I don't have the slim version.
