Hell in a handbasket
"BB guns don't kill people ... no, really ... they don't!"
I'm tired, guys. Really firetrucking tired of the direction our society is going. I'm not exactly certain where the turn-around started; but somehow the land of the free and home of the brave has turned into the land run by cowards and corporations.
If the company I work for finds out I had a cigar at home on my own time, will I get fired? And even if that doesn't happen, will the government let them off the hook on a pension they were supposed to pay me after more than twenty years of service? How long are we going to enforce laws that let our children grow up to be rude arrogant pricks (no spankings, no bad grades, etc - don't want to hurt their self-esteem)?
I don't know how you gentlemen (and ladies) feel about it. But I've had the impression for a long time now that we're headed towards collapse. The democrats want to make everyone a ward of the state. The republicans want to hand the country over to the corporations and force their morality down our throats (give me ethics, !#@% the morals). This is not government for the people by the people anymore.
And I'm tired of it.
