Yes, I knew it was coming soon, and it did, a couple days ago. As usual, they are giving away four different vitolas of one of their fine cigar lines. As usual also, they are giving away a shirt, but this time it's not a t-shirt. Hey, no complaints on the t-shirt, I've touted them for a long time. I still have every one I've received, and they are not only beautiful, but quality stuff and they wear well. The two or three years previous, they even included a handy left side breast pocket, which in the summer is a great place to keep your MetroCard when you're running around NYC on the subway.

This year however, they are giving away a golf shirt. Now, they usually have a picture of the shirt they're giving away, but a picture wasn't included this year, so it's a bit of a mystery. But, although they've upped the Cigar Connoisseurs Club fee this year by two dollars, to $18, it's obviously still a great idea to join. Don't forget, throughout the year, you get the newsletter, coupons for more free cigars   , and announcements concerning events, and of course, more cigars. 8)

Join the J.C. Newman Cigar Connoisseurs Club today. You won't be disappointed. :wine: :cheerschug:

I've been doing this for the past 3 years. This year's golf shirt WILL NOT dissapoint either. It's a very nice, heavy, golf shirt. I've noticed that they are running "big" too. If you think you need a XL you might want to order a Large. I got the XXL and it's frickin' huge! A buddy of mine got the XL and it was WAY too big for him. He gave it to me and it fits me fine.

Just food for thought.

It's a great deal though; 4 great Cuesta Rey cigars and a shirt for $18; what's there to think about? 8)

Well, I'm not too sure about cuts, but the way sizes in America go, a large is 42-44, XL is 46-48, and XXL is 50-52. Those numbers mean a man's "normal," meaning relaxed, not expanded chest measurement. I find most cuts usually conform to those measurements, which on me means that I qualify for Large's, but they are usually pretty tight. Being as I have not touched weights for well over 20 years, I do not qualify for anything larger than Large, but based on TT's post, I'm curious now.

And by the way, HOW'D YOU GET YOURS SO SOON, TIM??? Who do YOU know?

I have "connections", shall we say!

I just decided to send my renewal in when it crossed my mind. I think it was early but they sure don't care! I suppose you could join and rejoin the club every month if you wanted to! Great way to get a bunch of CR cigars and shirts for "not alot of money"!

Yes, for sure. I've been a member for at least five years, maybe more, as of this renewal, and I always look forward to this. Four more cigars always look great in my humidor, and since I rarely wear dress shirts, their shirts take up a whole section my closet and get lots of wear.

Very good, at least the two different Cuesta-Rey lines I've tried. I've had the sun grown, after a year or so of age, and the Connecticut shade wrapper ones are a big favorite of mine.

It is definitely a bargain, since I don't think you can even get the four cigars for less than the membership fee. And in consideration of not only the shirt, but the coupons you get, the newsletter and announcements of events, it's a must. :wine:

I got my stuff in the mail a few days ago, 4 great sun grown smokes & a nice shirt, only draw back, No pocket to keep the cigars in ! I have been a member since the year it started, never a disapointment with anything I have ever got from them , Enjoy, Vince

WHAT?!!??! No pocket this year??? I'M STOPPING THE CHECK!!!

I've been doing it four or five years now. It was either BostnBill or the infamous Doc Barry that got me started. For what you get, you can't beat the deal.

Well, thanks a lot Blooth! I've now joined this lash up. The last time I joined an organization they treated me rather rudely, issued rifles and set about reducing some of the worlds population. Lets hope this time it is all good 8)

One thing, about the coupons they send you, I WILL say this. There are certain small, independent cigar merchants, who are on the J.C. Newman list, that MIGHT, and I stress MIGHT, and only mention it because it happened to me, not wish to take the coupons. If that happens, you can go to their web site and report the merchant, and they will remove that merchant from their list, or at least give them a call to find out what's up. You will also have no problem finding a store that does take them. Other than that, you'll enjoy your membership immensely, especially the four cigars and a shirt you can count on every year. And believe me, the shirts are all quality.
