Just wondering what do u guys all do for a living as for me I'm a milk man

I am an engineer. I design farm equipment.

When I was a kid, the milk man delivered milk to our door step in glass bottles. Does anyone here remember that? One time the milk truck got in a wreck in front of our house, with the truck laying on it's side. There was pools of milk all over the road. It was funny how many cats from the neighborhood were out in the street lapping up the free delight.

Ah the old days- I remember them well and the old metal box the milkman delivered the milk to outside the door. I'm retired, was an Accountant/ Controller.

I am an outside sales rep for a retail lumber company. I have almost 21 years at the same company. I'm actually ashamed of this and rarely speak of work outside of work. I've tried to do different things but never seem to follow through.

The money is great and I am not ashamed of supporting my family, I just won't ever have "rescued 4 orphans from a burning structure" or "shot an insurgent at 1000 meters" on my résumé.

DL, try to think of it in the broader sense. What does the lumber you sell go to? New buildings? Playgrounds? Special projects? You are an integral part of all of those processes, without you doing your job none of these things would happen!

As for the OP's question, I myself am a student studying Pharmacy.

I think I am going to date myself here, but our milkman used to have a horse to draw the milk wagon. My mom used to let us give the horse sugar cubes every once in a while.

Dustin, I am a postman, and will probably never have any of those things on my resume either, but I have rescued a kitten that was put into a street mail box, and returned a special needs child back to her school when she went AWOL one day. I will have 35 years in next May, and have delivered mail in every part of our great city.

I'm a retired Soldier. I never shot an insurgent or anything like that. I did have 22 years of service though.

My dream was to be a combat pilot. The day I was to be sworn in, I found out I was color blind and it summarily ended any dreams of flying in the air Force or as a commercial pilot. If I could have one dream job, it'd would have been to pitch for the Seattle Mariners. Alas, I have the athletic abilities of a door knob, so a MLB career was nothing but fantasy.

I do have two fantastic kids and two absolutely wonderful grandkids. Sometimes the best things we have are right in front of us.

I absolutely remember the milkman delivering in glass bottles to the metal box on our porch. Those were the days!

I own an investment firm in Sparta, NJ - working with my best friend and business partner for the past 23 years. It has it's ups and downs, but I love doing what I do.

I haven't saved babies from burning buildings or anything like that, but I am proud of the things that I have done in my community to help people out. I've been president of Big Brothers/Sisters locally, am currently on the Board of Ed for our local school and on the finance committee of my local church.

Maybe it's not that cool - but it's my way of affecting changes.
