Welcome Van55! Ironic that you should join up here now, I have just been reading a thread you started on another forum, and have some questions for you.
I'll help if I can. Write me a pm here or email me at vvanderm at msn dot com.

Hey everyone, my name is Jerry and I just signed up. Have been using the c.com store for the last two months or so to supplement my b&m purchases.

I travel a ton for work, and have found myself favorite shops in the cities I visit. I am, however, still looking for a reasonably priced shop in Montreal (if anyone has any suggestions I am open). I was there this week and someone recommended Stogies on Rue Crescent, but I didn't yet get a chance to stop by.

I am a 32 yr. old salesguy, and have varied interests, but I'll save those boring details for everyone as they get to know me.

Wanted to give a quick thanks to everyone, this site is a great resource, and I am getting a great education here!

A favorite recent smoke was the Ashton VSG Illusion. Loved it, went nice with a snifter of Grand Marnier.

AAAAAHHHHHHH-RAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!!

Welcome all new joins!

You've come across a great place with a wealth of knowedge!

Long time lurker, first time poster!

Hi all,

Just getting started in the cigar world. I have enjoyed reading all of the info on this forum. Still trying to figure out what I like and don't like, (and what I can afford and can't afford.) I am 33 and have two girls and live in Cincinnati OH. I look forward to tapping everyone's vast knowledge when I have questions!

Welcome, welcome, Goodwillguy! This forum has a very friendly and helpful bunch. You've come to the right place. How long have you been smoking cigars?

I have only been smoking cigars for about a month. I went on a diet at the first of the year and I have found that a good cigar and a glass of red wine can be even better than a box of twinkies!

Goodwillguy, welcome. Just like when I first stated, I was encouraged to brain pick.... And I was warned the bloof's brain was picked clean.........I am a firm believer that there is something still left!!!

Hi all,

I just wanted to take a minute and introduce myself here. I've been lurking about and reading the previous threads for a couple of weeks now and I thought I'd jump in.

I'ma 30 year old technical consultant and I've been a regular cigar smoker for about 5 years now. I keep a couple of humidors around the house and I'm limited to smoking outside, in the car and at bars. I enjoy a lot of different smokes, but I tend to enjoy figuardos and robusto sizes most. I'm not a fan of the mild cigar and tend to enjoy medium-full cigars better.

Some of my favorite cigars are:

Montecristo No.2 (Cuban)
Mayorga Maduro Gordita Torpedo
Padrón 1964 Anniversary Torpedo
JR Ultimates Rothschild Maduro

I'm located in Indianapolis, IN (Noblesville)...anyone else around here?

Thanks,

Jeff

Welcome to the forum, Jeff!

Ahh, Padron 64 are one of my favorites!

Hello everyone, FNG here.

Started smoking cigars a couple of months ago, and finally decided if there was anyone who like to shoot the bull about them online (there's talk forums for everything, isn't there?).

Nice place you all have here. From the looks of things, I've got myself another money-sucking hobby.

I kind of screwed myself too, I think. I wanted something better than the gas station cigars I'd been smoking (Garcia Vega), and went into the local smoke shop and bought purely on how they looked. Of course I had to go for the Arturo Fuente Hemingways, the Montecristos (not sure if it was the Platinum or not, it's the one who's tube has like a little city-scape on it. yeah I bought it because the tube looked cool.). But recently, I had some people recommend good "beginner's" cigars -- Baccarat, and some other mild ones -- and they just seemed completely tasteless to me (other than the sugar on the wrapper -- blech). So I assume I'm kinda stuck on expensive sticks. . .<sigh>

Welcome to the forum, Smokepole. It looks to me like you enjoy the strength of Medium, medium-full cigars. If you like the Hemmingway's, order a few Cigar.com Cameroon labels from Cigar.com. I promise you, you won't be disappointed!
