Hello,

I am new to the board and relatively new to smoking cigars. I have been smoking various cigars for less than year and I have came across a few favorites. My interest in cigars has grown since I received a humidor for Christmas and from then I have been tracking what I smoke.

Other Information about me:

I am 22 year old grad student in Columbia, MO and other interests are motorsports of the four wheel variety. (F1, NASCAR and IndyCar)

I look forward to learning about new cigars and everyone on the board.

Thanks,

William

Hello William and welcome to the forum. Theres a ton of knowledge and information here plus a bunch of friendlly cigar lovers. Hope you enjoy the place. Don't be afraid to jump into the fun and games and pay if forward threads, it's a great way to get to know some of the people on the board a little better.

So, do tell....What are some of your favorite cigars?

Thanks for the warm welcome...

Out of the short list I have tried the few cigars so far that stand out to me are:

Gran Habano No.3
Excalibur 1066

I love the spicy taste of Gran Habano and the Excalibur to me had quiet a few differing aromas.. both were very enjoyable.

Wow! Stay away for almost 5 months and there are a billion new faces. (OK billion is a slight exageration, but you get the idea.) Welcome to all the new folks. As y'all know, this is a great place.

Hi everybody,

A little about myself. I'm an engineer from Michigan, and I enjoy homebrewing, cigars, and shooting (not necessarily in that order). In my spare time I ride my motorcycle, keep saltwater aquariums, and do stained glass. My wife says I have too many hobbies.

I'm pretty new to the cigar scene, I really like Onyx, anything Oliva, and Cohiba. I'd really like to try Rocky Patel, does anyone have any suggestions?

Welcome aboard Danon!

You'll find a number of Rocky fans here. The 1990 and 1992 Vintage lines are nice, I happen to like the Olde World Maduros a bit too.
I can send you a few sticks to try out of you like.

We have quite a Michigan contingency now, you'll have to meet up with our Militia in that neck of the woods. They are some stand up members!

Welcome!

Newbie Alert!

Hi all, newbie here! Well I've smoked everything else, but I'm new to cigars. I've already found a lot of very interesting info here on this site and I'm eagerly awaiting my first shipment from c.com's cigar of the month club. My first real cigar was a baccarat rothschild a friend gave to me. I really liked it. I've been sampling a few from my local shop. I've got a humidor and I'm ready to explore the world of cigars!

Just thought I'd say hi and warn you I've got lot's of stupid questions!

Welcome Walker!

No such thing as a stupid question, fire away!

Beware though.....you will need a minimum 300 count humidor in about 2 months.

I warned you.....

Thanks for the welcome rmrdaddy!

OK first stupid question is this. My 50 cigar humidor is already about half full. I just got a box of 25 cigars shipped to me. How well will they keep in the box? Do I need to get them into a humidor right away?

Dang! I need a bigger humidor already!

So much to learn.

Walker,
Yeah you'll need to keep them constant, which is why we use a humidor. Left in the box, they will degrade in quality unfortuantely...

In a pinch, you could get a tupperware or rubbermaid container big enough, and put 'em in there. You could toss a water pillow in there and make do for a while that way.
Another alternative: put the whole box into a gallon plastic bag with a water pillow....

Thanks for the helpful ideas. I think I'll do the zip-lock in a cooler idea and hope the new 300 cigar humidor that I JUST ORDERED gets here fast! I got the Ravello from cheaphumidors.com with the cigar oasis xl upgrade and digital hygrometer too.

jeez, what has become of me?

HAHAHAHA!! We have got you now.....

PS>
You should have ordered the 500 count....

New to the Forum

Hello Everyone.

I'm new to the forum. I've been smoking cigars for about 4 years, but I haven't tried very many different brands.

A little bit about myself. I'm 26; I work in the IT department at a local bank. I've been married for 3 years and my wife likes the smell of my cigars and pipes, so I'm pretty lucky. We've got a son on the way. He'll be here in May. My hobbies outside of cigars are shooting, fly fishing, and oil painting. I'm also finishing my undergrad degree. I spent some time in the Navy as well.

Thanks,

Sam
