Hello everyone,
My name is Paul and I currently live in Ocala, FL, just 45 minutes south of the home of the Roudy Reptiles, the Florida Gators! Who just happen to be Natl Champs in a few different sports...Who defeated a certain midwest team twice for Natl Championships...Guess that midwest state should stick with growing taters!
I started smoking cigars last August and have developed a few favorites. I enjoy maduros, particularly Onyx and Romeo Y Julieta. I enjoy sticks from Ashton, Torano, and H. Upman.
I spent 10 years in the Silent Service, aka Submarine Force of the U.S. Navy.
I enjoy riding my 2006 Honda VTX 1300 Retro which I have done alot of customizing to.
At present I'm a truck driver though I'd like to do something else.

Submariner, eh? I'm one myself currently at the Nuke School in Charleston. What boats? I was on the Olympia out in Pearl before Prototype for a couple years and now at NNPTC.

Welcome Paul and John!

Hello folks, lots of familiar names and faces. Some of you may know me from other boards. That being said, an intro is in order.

I've been smoking cigars since the end of 2001. I started slowly, got a lot of insight from folks by posting on some other boards and increasing my knowledge. I did the usual studying, reading up, abusing the search function thing. And I must say that I've learned a lot from some great folks. There are good people in the cigar community, that share knowledge and experience. I hope to learn a lot and contribute what I can here.

I work for a utility company in New Jersey by day. By night I'm a coffee roaster and I really have a lot of fun doing it. I'm happy to be here, and I'm looking forward to contributing where I can. Be well.

Hey welcome to Amback Nova!

I don't think I knew you were from Joisey. Whereabouts?

Welcome Nova - I recognize that name from somewhere.

Joisey? Rob you worry me.......alot.

Hey all!

My name is Zack, I am 19, turning 20 in June, and I have only recently (last 5 months) been getting into cigars. But I've got to tell you, I love them already. I've actually had quite the variety since it is new to me and I am gung-ho about it. I've done a lot of research about cigars, from their components to the different sizes, colors, and brands. I am so glad I have found this forum to help me learn a lot about cigars, among other things.

Ok, now for the good stuff...My favorite cigars (thus far):

CAO Brazilia (Samba size - 6 1/4 x 54)
CAO Criollio (Pato Size - 4 7/8 x 50)
CAO MX2 (Toro size - 6 x 54)
CAO Maduro (Toro size - 5 1/2 x 55)
Gurkha Gran Reserve (Churchill size - 7 1/2 x 52)
Carlos Torano Camaroon 1916 (Churchill Size - 7 x 48)
Carlos Torano Exodus Silver (Corona Grande size - 6 x 46)

I've got a long way to go though, I'm sure (and know).

If anyone has any suggestions on a cigar they feel I might like, or would like to trade, PM me and I would love to hear what you have to say or trade.

Hello and welcome to the best forum on the web.
Those are all great smokes. I presonaly like everyone of them too.
When I think about trying something new I read the reviews of the other members and you can get a great idea of what to expect. Ashtons, Perdomo, Fuentes, Rocky Patel are all great IMHO.
Talk to you later brother.

Hello

Hello Everyone,

My name is Matt. I'm 27, I live in the SF Bay Area in California. I've smoked cigars casually on and off for a few years. Lately it's been growing on me. I guess the cigars I smoke are pretty common - Cigar.Com Cameroon, Sol Cubano, Fuente, Punch, Romeo Y Julieta, La Gloria Cubana... I look forward to trying a bunch of others though ;) I tend to go for a Robusto or Toro. I like the larger ring sizes, seems to be a cooler smoke I think.

Aside form cigars, I keep a couple reef tanks, I play upright bass (Rockabilly/Jazz/Blues), ride my motorcycle, an avid cyclist, into anything 50's, Oh, and I work in IT.

I think thats about it. I look forward to being active on the site, meeting everyone and learning a lot about smokes.

Cheers!
Matt

Hey man, welcome! As you can see, I'm new here too (two or three posts above yours).

What colors or flavors do you like? Maybe we can work up a trade...

I tend to like a light or medium bodied smoke right now. I do have a maduro now and again to mix things up. Theres no fun in having the same thing every day...

I think trading might be a great way to try new smokes. Send me a PM and we'll chat.

Cheers!
Matt

Make sure you all check the Pay it Forward and Fun and Games threads. Those are also great ways to try new smokes, and meet some of the people here.
