Slippery Slopes: wet shaving

Tom, you should make the switch (that way I don't feel so bad about myself).

I would look like a Saskatoon Sashsquatch if I didn't shave until my birthday!

tonight i am going to Crabtree and evelyn tonight to get a brush and some soaps. if all goes well in a few weeks/months when i run out of blades for the mach 3 i will get a new safety razor. I am leaning in the direction of a Merkur Heavy Duty. I hear its a good starter razor.

That's the one I have been using for a year, Kuzi. Love that one.

I guess it's time to start looking for a second one.

We should start a pool - after a year how many razors will Dustin have?

AHAHAHAHHAHA

Kevin, that one caught me by suprise but after I read it, I KNEW there would be commentary from Connor.

Kuzi, based on the reviews that I have read, the Merkur HD is an excellent razor! I am going to get one with the open comb.

I think we almost have Connor convinced to try it.

its not just a shave. Its a process. its becoming the "reset button" of my day. (when i shave) very relaxing and very therapeutic in nature.

...and im not even using the DE yet. just the last of my M3 blades. ive been eying this razor: http://westcoastshaving.com/index.php?m ... ucts_id=36

kuzi, are you shaving at night or in the morning? I am strictly morning but may need to switch to night shaving due to time limitations in the morning.

That Merkur looks nice! My next razor will be the HD with an open comb. I have been rotating an open comb Gillette into my shaves and really like how they feel.

Plus wives really appreciate night shaving

i usually shave mid afternoon. about 2 hours before the woman gets home. It sets me up for a relaxing evening at home or a good night out with friends.

Long handles are great just remember leverage.

you want to put next to no pressure against your skin, let the blade do the work.

i just got big freakin hands. I think it would be easier to hold on to.

I have a nice custom shave scuttle with my initials coming as well as a new brush, cream and alum block. http://www.dirtybirdpottery.com is where the scuttle is coming from. A work of art.

My Dirty Bird scuttle came in on Friday! It is truly a work of art! I had Julie put my initials on it. The craftsmanship is so good that I intend on passing this on to Austin one day and maybe he can pass it on to his children.

Cheryl will not let me have it until my birthday so I have to wait a couple of weeks before using it.
