Sunday morning was my 14th consectutive shave with a Derby blade in a 1964 Gillette Slim Adjustable. That blade would not go dull! The blade before that was 12 shave. You may be wondering how I know how many shaves I get on a blade. Well I made a spread sheet early last year and keep it in my shaving cabinet. Everytime I shave, I just record the blade and what razor I used it in. It is real easy for me to determine a couple of things. A) Which blade and razor combo works best for me, and B) which blade is the best overall for my type of beard. You see, had I used that Derby blade in say my Merkur Progress, I might have only gotten 6 shaves out of it because of the angle etc.
