I know this is a strange request when people are constantly being asked to shrink their images, but any chance you could blow that picture up some? It's really small. Just want to see more of you and the land, that's all. :sm_angel:

Okay, I made it a bit larger.

Ahhhhh, there she is!!! As Freddie Prinze used to say:

LOOOOOKEEEEENNNNNGGG GOOOOOOOOOD!!!

Thanks, Sergeant DevilDog, but if you can see where this is going, I won't be all that wrong by the time the coffee gets to me, because with the shipping, no doubt it will still come out to well over 20-something per pound.

Thanksgiving Day Update,

well I didnt post Sunday morning sorry to all of you for missing but I did have a good excuse, I was still in the hospital,! that out patient sergury last Thursday turned into a little more than I had hoped for , the operation it self went fine, I was home by 6 pm that evening feeling ok, but over night something went wrong I I started to bleed into my gut, but we didnt know it, by friday morning I was almost out of it, BP was 60/XX, the ambulance driver looked in shock as he checked me, well I went to the ER admitted so little blood in my viens they couldnt get any out of the arm or leg, , I enedned up getting a mainline put into my femerial vien & recieved 4 units of Blood before the night was over & 2 more units the next day along with a ton of antiibodics & what ever else they give you , needless to say I didnt feel very well at all,, well in the accute care unit with a one to one ratio RN to patient I was checked every 10 minutes & made verry comfortable with a nice array of Morphine & other fine controlled substances , No Cafine, no nicotene, & no alcohol, ,,,, , that was my problem I was suffering from withdrawll !! hahahah, I can laugh now thank God but the doc told me I was 2 hours from my NEXT cigar to be shared with George Burns & Winston Churchill, if you catch my drift, But I am home & still a little well a lot weak, , no turkey today, first time in over 45 years I didnt cook some thing for Thanksgiving , even when I was a kid my mother would let me make some thing at home , but ever since I have been married I cooked every Thanksgiving, we were almost always at my place, & the few times we didnt eat here I cooked some place else for the family, I remember one year when I was catering I had 12 meals going out the door with in 2 houts of each other, that was Crazy , BUT PROFITABLE !!!! , never did that again, just to dammmmm much work!, I would rather have the time with the family even if they are all fighting with each other they are family , to bad you cant pick your relatives like you pick friends hahahahaha
well I digress as usual , well I got home last night about 6:30 Pm, & went to bed at 8 , got back up at 11 Pm, watched Letterman, & went back to sleep at 2 am , slept till 9 am , had to GO NOW ! hahahaha , the kidneys are working just fine after a few days rest , well I hope that you all had a good Thanksgiving & are well, damm I hate this down time I will go back & read the postings I missed when I feel up to it, Enjoy, Vince

I have not been around long, but missed your post and comments. Thought of you often, prayed for you daily. Look forward to reading your wisdom and humor.

I thought today was gonna suck since my team didn't deliver. But then the great Vince posts, and all is well.
Glad to hear you're alright. Damn what a week you've had

What an ordeal Vince. Glad you're here to tell us about it. Been thinking about you and praying for your well being. Hang in there buddy! Good to see you here again.

Vince, glad your back home. Just do what the Doc's say, and you'll be back to turkey and cigars in no time!!

Vince, I'm glad to hear that you are okay now. I hope your recovery goes smoothly.

After reading what happened to you, I'm gonna go to the Red Cross next week to donate blood.

I wish I was allowed to donate blood... I was living in Italy during that whole Mad Cow scare in the late 90's, and got me a perm kick/ban from donating blood. I can do plasma though, which I do. Its nice to walk out with a couple bucks from doing so, and pickin up a few smokes afterwards :D

Thank you all for the good wishes & the prayers did come in helpfull, I needed all the help I could get , Thank you all !
I gave been on a blood donation drive all my life, I have donated about 100 times in my life , I did belong to a blood bank when I worked at Armco steel , just a young guy then ,& a lot of the older guys didnt want to donate when there name was pulled so I would go in & give a pint for them as long as it was 56 days from the last time I gave , only got paid twice by the other guy, 10 bucks both times , the rest of the cheep SOB'S , nothing but a hand shake & thank you , well better than nothing ! , But I never said no when some one asked for a pint , so Now I got 6 back , I am still way ahead !I think its a great idea for all of us to donate a a pint a year , according to the Red Cross you can donate every 56 days , thats an easy 6 times a year , next herf, donate a unit of blood, get coffee & a donut , a glass of juice then fo smoke a great cigar knowing you have given the gift of life to some one !
I was able to get in the shower today for the first time in a week , dammmm I dont know how my wife put up with me, wow what an oder hahahahahaha
well I checked the BP , & its fine, the heart rate is back to normal , I do have a slight light head, but I havent been eating all that much & I did stand a long time in the shower, , FELT GREAT
I have a nice buzz like shot gunning a big can of Fosters hahaha , yea like I have done that in the past 12 years , hahahah
I havent had more than a sip of beer since the by pass a year ago April, but I havent stopped the scotch this long in a long time , , just want to make sure every thing is ok before I start to distroy my liver again hahahaha
on a scale of 1 to 10 I am feeling all of 8.5 or better, if I could just get rid of the itchy feeling where the cut is , then I could be at a 9 or better, give me a cigar now & I would be a 15 !!!!!!
SO I am Back & getting better by the second, so I will try to keep you all posted to what is going on , , no food or cigars to post anything about as yet, BUT it will be here asap I promise! Ahain Thank you all for the good wishes thoughts & prayers, dont forget donate a unit of blood when ever you get the chance !
Enjoy, Vince

Donating Blood

Besides the whole "saving lives" thing, the cookies, juice and ice-cream (yes, we get ice-cream in Tucson) in the Blood Bank's Canteen are a plus!

Welcome back, Vince.
Glad to know that you're still here!

Oo-Rah and Semper Fidelis!

Vince, it was good to hear from you and see you posting. That is a very scary story, and I'm glad you are okay. Please take it really easy, and concentrate on good nutrition and your walking, for the time being. No need to head over to Hofstra for that tryout I booked you as the Jets new blocking back just yet. I'm keeping the second week of January in mind. Hopefully you'll be ready for smoking some playoff cigars by then.

GOOD MORNING THIS WONDERFULL SUNDAY , 27 Nov. 05, it is 10 days since my trip to the O.R. & I am feeling fine, , all on my own , no more morephine (DAMMMMM ) I havent had any thing for pain , not even an asprin since I came home late last Wed. , So here we are Sunday morning, again, I didnt have a cigar today but it is getting closer as I type, , I did make a pot of Kona , afterall it is Sunday, but even the Kona is lacking with out the Don Carlos III , breakfast was a hot pepper cheese omlet , some grilled Tofu cubes & a grilled sliced banana , , I need to get in the kitchen more often, I sure do miss it . , I have some ground Angus beef, so it looks like it is meat loaf today , garlic mashed & my favotite GRAVY
I havent been out to the Qtr.Deck since I got home from the hospital, but I am sure everything is fine there , , we are supposed to get in the 50's today so I might just need to take a short stroll out & say HI to the rouges on the walls & maybe listen to a little music with my afternoon coffee , not that I cant listen to music here in the house, but its just not the same , you know what I mean ??
I didnt get to make a bird for Thanksgiving this year & dammmmm I miss all the leftovers , no creamed turkey, no stuffing sandwiches , no sweet potato pie , dammmm that hurts just thinking about it ! hahaha , , I was going to make a stuffed Veal breast for Christmas, but now I think it will be a BIG BIRD , I miss the fun & taste & I miss the wish bone arguement with my wife, my family tradition was who ever got the small end got the wish, the person with the big end had to sit on the stump ( of the wishbone ) & wait for next year , but she said the person with the big end gets there wish & thats alll there is to the story, well it has been at the fore front for 35 years now & I dont give a dammmm who is right at this point, I just dont want to change my mind & she will never change hers, so in my mind we both will win no matter whos rule we use .
I guess thats about it, no cigars, no action outside, no action in side, just rest & recoperation . Enjoy, Vince

Good Morning Everyone!!

Vince, it is good to have you back. I just started following your threads when you were already in the hospital, and it is good to know everything worked out okay for you.

I am not going to brag about the cigars I have been smoking, but will ask you to send some of the 50 degree weather up her for us. We have not had any real snow yet, but instead got freezin rain over night which kind of made things a little dicy for driveing around.

My family went to church without me this am, I picked up a real bad cold and was up coughing and wheezing all night. Such is life I guess.

Keep dishing (get t?) those recipes, they give me lots of new ideas for spicing up my family's everyday meals. I am going to have to try that feta idea on the chicken, it sounds great!

Keep it up brother, and stay strong, we are all rooting for you !!

Welcome to the Zoo, Mr. Bikeman , I would love to send some of this 50F weather up to Canada, as long as you keep the MINUS 20F winds back up north where they belong !
I am getting ready to make a meat loaf from all the bits & pieces of the black angus roasts & steaks I have been keeping in the freezer, so I will double grind all the beef, add a little ground pork & a little ground veal , salt & pepper to taste, then the New Orleans Holy trinity , Onions Celery & Peppers , they get tossed over high heat with a little olive oil till the onions are clear ,, dump them into the meat when cool, add a few beaten eggs a couple drops of tabasco, a hand full of bread crumbs, & what ever green herbs I can find fresh in the garden, , I think the chives are still good, the frost got everything else, so I will add some dryed herbs , maybe origano & basil , who knows what might fall out of the spice cabnet ! , a little yellow bell pepper puree & some tomato puree & mix it all into a big GLOB , about half will go in the loaf pan , then a layer of fresh spinich & a row of hard boiled eggs , more spinich & then top it off with the remainding mix, that gets topped with a sprinkle of bread crumbs & a few slices of bacon, into the oven at 325 F for 90 to 95 minutes, , along with a head of garlic wrapped in foil for the first hour, the garlic comes out then , the potatoes go on boils & when the garlic is cooled & the spuds are cooked, then the join each other to get Mashed to gether , ahhh yes meat loaf & garlic mashed, , I will defrost a little beef stock & make a quick pot of GRAVY , ahhhh yes life is Good ! even with out a cigar & a scotch ! Enjoy, Vince

wow! I hate meatloaf, but that sounds awesome! *calls grandma to make for me*
