Syntax, that's a terribly high price to pay for real Hawaiian Kona. To be sure, it is expensive, but not $50 a pound. Even Jamaican Blue Mountain isn't quite that high yet.

Cian, I can't thank you enough for continuing this thread in the masterful fashion that you do. My hopes that your wife's generalship pays off for the plaque this year. LOVED the Ben Franklin quote. I'll be laughing for days.

Hello Syntax, we are near Dysee AFB Abeline, Texas We have had some good shows from them over the years. Back in the B52 days I was deer hunting and had one come over so low I could see individual rivets. A never to be forgotten event. Now they still come in low over the lake, but, mostly they run games on each other on the real high ground. regards

Bloof, that is what I paid at one of the local owned bean shops in Lexington. Coffee is really expensive around here...its always marked up even more than retail...

Lol.. yeah. I try to support the local shops though. I like the convenience.
Ive always bought coffee locally. I buy boxes and orders more than 10 cigars online, and buy lesser expensive stuff in the local places, and usually end up smokin with the guys at said places that are paying the smoking ban fine to allow smoking in the establishment.

Yeah, but that's still almost 4 times what you should be paying for it!
Does your a** hurt?

No, Sergeant DevilDog, not unless you know somebody's wife. Genuine Hawaiian Kona is very hard to get at the retail level for less than $30 per pound. If you know were I can get it for $15 a pound, I'll be ordering at least three pounds next week.

JBM is about 36 a pound here in the bay area at Peet's. Kona is like 28 I believe.

So, even with shipping, that's about a few bucks a pound less than I can the JBM for here, and about the same price for the Kona figuring in shipping. And those are pretty standard. Thanks for the info. Peet's is a great place. I know people who recommend them highly. I think someone sent me something from them once.

Lol... yeah a bit. My wallet hurts, but out of the blue, grandma handed me a gift certificate today to one of the local cigar/pipe shops. Any suggestions on what to do with $50?

lol...Thanks Mr. Obvious

I meant, any suggestions on some new smokes to try...

thats DR obvious, i didnt spend 6 years in obvious medical school to become mr.. thank you very much.

Arizona is just beautiful, right now. I put up with extreme summers to enjoy these awesome winters. That whole "living with snow" thing is crazy talk. The Colonel is one smart fella to be moving down here. This is a photo of me (this weekend) at Arivaca, Arizona. I had an Exquisito and a Punch Rare Corojo.

Nice scenery. The land behind you looks good too. Did I know the Colonel was moving down there? Hmmmmm, maybe in the cobwebs somewhere. I know this is a strange request when people are constantly being asked to shrink their images, but any chance you could blow that picture up some? It's really small. Just want to see more of you and the land, that's all. :sm_angel:

No, Bloof, it doesn't take knowing someone (although that doesn't hurt!). I can serioulsy get it for around $18 a pound. There's a swapmeet in Oahu that sells it for $16 a pound. That booth has a website and I think that itsells for around $20 a pound online.
I'll see if I can get one of my inlaws to go to the swapmeet and get that info for you all.
No need to spend that kind of money on something we all love when you don't have to!
