La Gloria Cubana Perfecto - 2004, sent by a friend (Thanks, Travis!).
Finally have a day off and decided to ash this stick. Makes me want to smoke another stick today.... Maybe after a late lunch.
Into the 40's today, smoked a bunch of new yard gars ROTT and they were not very good including one I thought would be a new staple yard gar. Maybe with a little time they'll be better.
Having my second stick - banner day! LOL
Ramon Bueso Odyssey Robusto. Excellent low-$$$ smoke. I'd rate this very close to the Man O' War Virtue. Not as complex, but a great, consistent smoke with solid construction. I'd rate it a solid 90 out of 100.
Those 40's after this winter so far were nice. I have 1 or 2 of both of those cigars buried somewhere- maybe this summer I'll smoke 'em if I can find 'em.
Second day off in a row! - a real "weekend"? Don't know what to do with myself! LOL!
Starting the day with a Jaime (pronounced "hi-may") Garcia Reserva Especial Robusto of "My Father Cigars". May not be the best breakfast-cigar choice (kind of like having a big slab of cheesecake for breakfast), but it's pretty durned good! And it tastes excellent with a cup of coffee!
Yard gar robusto and a Victor Sinclair Serie 55 Blue Label Oscuro tubo. Done while shoveling the light snow that drifted around yesterday in the cold high winds. I actually pulled out a lawn chair and sat and smoked the last half of that second cigar. Could have used a lighter to make a minor adjustment and perhaps something to drink.
Pappas Fritas - gifted by a friend (okay, actually a bonus stick when I purchased a bunch of Viaje's).
Stout little smoke! Nice, toothy wrapper with litle to no oils and a pigtail cap. Lots of smoke, full bodied, good construction. Very nice.
Diesel Unholy Cocktail - 2nd stick today. Got pretty bitter at the last third - first one that I've had do that. I think I let it rest too long and the relight caused the problem.
Yes, the Pappas Fritas' aren't cheap, but they're good down to the nub. Nice, consistant smoke throughout.
Bob, I've found that if you clip the part of the cigar that is burned, relights taste considerably better than if you just tap and relight. Thtat's the main reason I bought a 58 ring cutter. Anything bigger brings out the power equipment.
