I remember we tried to get a book pass together - did that ever happen?

if i had more time i would. my schedual sucks though. take last week for instance: 70 hours in 6 days. this week: 45 in 4.

all of the hours are strange too. today im in at 10 am and out at 10 pm

im actually starting to miss my wife.

actually i would like to have a thread in this noncigar section about books that you are reading or you would reccomend...

i kinda hope this works like the "what are you smoking?" thread. (and by that i mean it doesnt fall off the first page of this section, keep reading guys and it wont)

right now im reading two books. ...kinda (above mentioned schedual problems): Glen Beck's An Inconvenient Book
and Alton Brown's Im Just Here for the Food. [/quote]

I have been reading "The Ruffed Grouse: Life History, Propogation and Management". It is a 915 page book regarding a LONG study performed on the ruffed grouse in New York back in the 40's. Includes everything from broods, to cover, to management and artificial propogation.

I'm actually reading two books right now.

The first is "Stay Mad For Life" by Jim Cramer. Its an investing book. Cramer is so charismatc. I love watching his show as well.

The second is "Che" by Jon Lee Anderson. It is a book about Ernesto Guevara's life. Quite interesting with alot about the Cuban Revolution.

Kevin posted elsewhere about a book pass. I love reading and would be interested in participating.

Right now it's The City of Falling Angels by John Berendt

I just plowed through Cinderella Story by Bill Murray, and Kitchen Confidential by Anthony Bourdain

so I'm diverse.....

I'm reading... "Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007: Administrator's Companion"

It's a riveting read with twists and turns all through it. It's really a page turner. I recommend it to anyone!

I am actually revisiting Mark Twain's - Tom Sawyer. I don't remember it being this hard to read. The writing is just a little off center. Maybe just me, but ol' Mark, tried to hard with the southern dialect and description's. That may be why I got a "C-" on the 6th grade book report.

Robert B Parker - Night Passage

The first Jesse Stone novel, I had to read the books after CBS started making TV movies of them with Tom Selleck as Jesse Stone.

Scott...your a sick sick man! :D

I am taking a break from my normal reading material and have undertaken Phillip Pullman's His Dark Materials (Golden Compass, The Subtle Knife, & the Amber Spyglass)
Very interesting read, a bit like Tolkien’s imagination meets C.S. Lewis Christian themes, meets a strong questioning of Original Sin and Fate vs. Destiny

The book I am reading is "Drummer Boy Willie McGee, Civil War Hero and Fraud." Like I said in the other thread, the author is a friend of mine so it is fascinating for me to read it.

I just finished Bernard Cornwell's Sword Song. It is part 4 of a series about England during the reign of Alfred the Great. His historical fictions are pretty good.

I'm also working on Mike Meyer's Network+ certification study guide. It's a pretty good baisc networking book.[/u]

Thanks 2 Chris!
I'm reading 2 books - one on Reef tanks & one on Corals!
I'm a little over whelmed by how much goes into a salt tank.

I just read three books by Stephanie Myer, I am actually not sure the names but the were AWESOME books.

I also just read Brothers in battle. The story of two soldiers in the famed "E" company. Great book.

I am reading Mortal Prey by John Sanford

Next up I want to read the battered bastards of Bastone. But I got to find it first.

Just finished reading the autobiography of Eric Clapton. Just picked up "Confederates in the Attic". Hope to get to it this weekend.

Barco,

I JUST MET those guys!!! 101st Airborne, 506th PIF, Easy Co.
Edward "Babe" Heffron and William "Wild Bill" Guarnere.
BOTH South Philly guys...and my wife works with Babe's Daughter!

They were cool as all get out, great guys, heros!

The Shipping News

By Anne Proulx. Trade paperback. Bought it off the overstock table at our local public library. Cost $0.25. Some college student has highlighted sections, added comments. Interesting, but I don't always agree with the comments.

We are on the road, took it to read in motels, but this one has a high speed connection, so I'm playing with the laptop. I'll finish the book when I get home ... and back on a 44kbps dialup.

I'm sporadically trying to reading Lou Dobbs "The War on the Middle Class." I have his newest book on deck when I get through this one.

Yesterday I finished the book about Che Guevara. Interesting read. His last revolution in Bolivia was a total flop and his execution wasn't at all glorious. In fact, his hands were amputated and sent to Argentina for fingerprint confirmation.

Last night I started a book about Islamic terrorist groups in America. The book is dated a few years but is very informative.
