What Did You Smoke Today

Had a beautiful 50+ degree day here today. I spent most of it hanging holiday decorations outside and then taking a trip out to get a Christmas tree from the tree farm. I was able to enjoy several really nice sticks!

Avo XO (thanks Gord!)
5 Vegas Gold (thanks Rob!)
H. Upmann Grand Maduro (thanks Rick!)

Today was a good day!

Last night I couldn't wait to try the Chicos that was sent me for my birthday, so I had one after work. 15 minutes of awesome flavor. Was a perfect pick me up after work.

Tonight I had a RP Vintage 1999 Connecticut PC. These are fast becoming my go to cigar. A nice mild with a little bit of spice and plenty of flavor.

Then I had a Vintage 1990 Perfecto. This was my first of this vitola. It was a little tight on the draw at first, but once past the smaller end, it loosened up into the usual 1990 flavor profile. I had been smoking the Juniors for the time, but these are a really nice step up without going to the PC.

those chicos are great, i found a box of them in my "junk drawer" this past summer that i had forgotten about for 3 years...they were great!

I've been using the chicos as my drive home cigar lately. Being that I live only a few miles from the restaurant, it's the perfect size to get me home.

Sunday 11/26:

Short Story
Coro
Opus X Fuente Fuente
46

I have split days off this week and yesterday was my Saturday so I lit up some nice sticks. When I get out today at 5 I have an Opus RDC from 2001 that I'm gonna enjoy

I don't ever smoke in my car but, last night I was meeting some friends and hadn't finished my smoke at home so, I took my Fuente 8-5-8 Flor Fina for a ride. The Cameroon actually made my car smell better!

Finished a RASS about an hour ago...my last one <sigh>. Just lit up my Birthday cigar an Opus X perfexion #2 Torpedo. Wonderful, simply wonderful!

Currently smoking a Rocky Patel Sun Grown. This is really a great cigar. Smoking wonderfully. The ash is nice and thick, and the smoke is beautiful.

I am currently smoking my first Edge by Rocky Patel Missile Corojo. Thanks goes out to Donny for the suggestion. The wrapper has a slight sweetness to it, but the cigar is definitely full-bodied with a fresh from the factory feel. This is a great smoke, and I must get a box of these.

enjoying my afternoon off by smoking an Oliva Serie O. Its very nice, smooth and comes off a tiny bit sweet. I will have to add this to my regulars.

Today was the Aurora 1495 series, courtesy for the Big Smoke. I almost put it out at first, a little rough. But once it was burning for a few minutes it was pretty nice. The reviews say that the flavor should change dramatically as you smoke it, I definitely agree.

Last night after work I had a Graycliff Mike Ditka PG.
The cigar felt light in the hand and the prelight draw was so loose that a few pieces of tobacco got to my throat and made me cough. After I cleared my throat with some Macallan 18 I fired this puppy up. At the 1/2 inch point the draw became tighter. The ash was white and flaky, but was very tight and held on until just over 2 inches. It tasted like a full bodied Graycliff but lacked much complexity. After 1/2 way the taste developed hints of anise and the aroma gained a spicy note. Overall it was a very nice smoke and I'm glad I have a couple more stashed away.

Now I'm about to light up a 5 Vegas A Artisan.

Smoked an El Rico Habano Corona last night on a recommendation from a store owner. It was horrible.

Another 5 Vegas limitada 06 tonight. There's a reason I keep smoking these.

Yeah man I love the 06 Limitadas too.

Tonight had a rare three cigar night. Started with a Cuba Alidados petit corona. Didn't really do it for me.

Later on I smoked a 5 Vegas Classic Robusto, was pretty tipsy at the time. A perfect poker cigar :)

Finished the evening with a Padilla Achilles. These are bound to be another Pepin classic. Great smoke!
