What Did You Smoke Today

Today was a 2 cigar day for me, a rarity for a work day. I had a Partagas Black Label after work. Unfortunately it was the Clasico size & not the Bravo which I'm so fond of. Plagued with an uneven burn and far too tight of a draw, it wasn't nearly as good as the Bravo which gives big thick plumes of smoke. I have 2 more left in my humi and can't wait until I get some more of the Bravo size.

To end the evening with a cold Guinness, I enjoyed a Romeo y Julieta Churchill - the real deal Cuban variety. Guys, this thing was absolutely incredible. The flavor and aroma was first rate. I'd say it was medium bodied although that is purely subjective. What I found to be most pleasant was the lack of pepper throughout the entire cigar (some Cubans overwhelm me with all the pepper). Very complex with a bit of a medium to long spicy finish that wasn't detectable on the draw and again wasn't overwhelming. Truly a wonderful cigar and although I hate to say so after smoking only one, it was without a doubt one of the best cigars I've ever smoked. You gotta try this is you ever get the chance. I'm still spinning over this one and wish my brother would have brought back a few more of these from his vacation (I've still got a Bolivar and Cohiba and hoping they will be as great). I really can't describe how good this thing was. I just had to rush back in and tell you guys about it as soon as I was finished. Simply an awesome cigar and much better than the Padron 1926 I had about a week or two ago (which is way overpriced IMHO) and about the same price of $23. Get one if you can but don't worry if you can't, I'll be more than happy to smoke them all myself!

With all the talk of the embargo being lifted I hope these will be available to us soon. Funny how I always here about "the talk about the embargo being lifted" even tho I've never actually heard a thing about it. Honestly, I don't see it happening but it would be nice if it did. Don't want this to turn into a political debate so I'll just leave it at that and be very happy having had one.

Cheers!

Last night I had a Bolivar Royal Corona. This cigar was just fantastic. Lots of coffee, cocoa, and creamy flavors with a touch of pepper at the end. The draw was very good, and I only had to ash twice. The finish was long, pleasant, and clean.

5 out of 6 smoke rings. This cigar will get even better with a few years of age.

I tried my first of the Camacho petit I got from the one day deal at c.com. I like it. It had a very tight draw and I had to use my poker on it but other then that it was very flavorful for such a small cigar.

Started the day with a La Flor double lig then had a big bowl of Frog Morton on the Bayou in my pipe. The day is still young and I have my eyes on something else...

It was another fine two cigar yard work day for me also. I started the work with a very nice Cuesta Ray Centrofino Sun Grown, and then ended with a Fonseca Habana churchill.

Both were a fine way to pass the afternoon for sure!

Graycliff 99 after lunch. I honestly don't see what the fuss is about, this cigar was just that, a cigar. Nothing special whatsoever IMO.

LFD Factory Press II earlier this afternoon. Very nice smoke, I am thinking that a couple years of age and these would be stellar.

Got an Opus X Perf #5 ready for tonights after dinner smoke.

I too smoked two cigars today.
First my go to Padron mad 3000 even burn, perfect draw awsone as usual. The second was a 100 Anos, must have been a dud b/c the draw was tight most of the way and the burn was horriable when it was burning, spent most of the 1.5 hours relighting the thing,it was purty tho' lol

Yesterday was a two cigar day for me.

afternoon was a Carlos Tarnos Exodus 1959 Gold. There's something about a boxed pressed torpedo that always makes me look forward to smoking a cigar. Draw was slightly loose and I was worried about it getting hot. It never did though and I was really liking the smoke. Typical Maduro flavors, coffe and cream with some toasted nuts and a bit of spice towards the back end.

After dinner: Romeo Y Julieta Reserve Maduro. I absolutely love this cigar. Its every bit enjoyable down to the last half inch.

BTW - nice handle, anything to do with pescadorian pursuits?

Not really, though I do like to go fishing when I can and used to have so many fish tanks that my wife wanted to divorce me. (My daughters bedroom was nothing but one big tank)

It is mostly becuase I am a huge fan of the band Phish. At work I will usually listen to 2 or 3 different shows and drive my family crazy when driving in the car by listening to almost nothing but them.

LGC Serie R #6 Natural was this evenings smoke.

A couple years ago when I first started smoking seriously this was my first cigar that I spent more than a couple bucks on and I loved it right away. Still a great cigar, also get the added benefit of some remembering the times when I was a cigar rookie while I smoke it.

I smoked an Ashton Maduro this evening. What a great flavorfull medium bodied smoke. I highly recommend them!

Smoked a Perdomo cabinet series reserve maduro robusto. Good smoke and not the typical "maduro" qualities but it was very enjoyable. A nice change of pace from the heavier smokes I'm usually burning.
