What Did You Smoke Today

After lunch I had a '05 Rare Corojo-less Pita  Draw was a little tight, but other than that it was pretty good. I've noticed a tight draw on the first couple out of the past 2 years' releases, but after letting them rest for a while they are fine.

After reading a few posts this weekend about Cusano, I decided to have a Corojo '97 robusto...mouth-watering perfection. Great draw and tons of flavor with an amazing aroma. Glad I have more of these!

858 maduro...bad luck with the burn...didn't want to stay lit. Damn the humidity. :x

Today I had a AF Hemingway Short Story on the way to work. Very nice little stick.

For the ride home I had a Big Butt El Camaron. Not sure about that one. Good burn and easy draw but taste was off.

I smoked on my pipe for the first time in a month or so. A nice change of pace every now and then, but I defintely like cigars better.

This morning I had a Punch Royal Coronation courtesy of Wolfdaddy. It was a good mild/medium smoke with cedar and earth notes. Burned it to the nub as I enjoyed my espresso. Thanks Wolf

Tonight I went for a Diploma natural from a box that's been in my cabinet since 5/5. No burn issues whatsoever. Should've had a bigger dinner though, as I didn't get up once during this one

Today I smoked two from Oliva, Flor De Oliva 10th anni Torpedo, and a Oliva O Maduro Orion.

I love this Maduro, great development and ffairly complex, great sweet, rich maduro flavor, gradual build in body the whole way through to finish off as fairly full, both in body and flavor.

The 10th anni was not complex, but solid through and through, great mild stick with a sweet finish, started off with a burst of flavor....Oliva really makes some fantastic cigars!! :D

Today I started off with a Nicaro robusto...draw was WAY too easy. It was like sucking through a cardboard tube. I threw this out pretty quickly. Moved on to a big Rovanoff. Draw was too tight and it refused to stay lit. I threw this one out pretty quickly too. Went to the smokeshop and picked up a few RyJ Cedros No. 2s, lit one up, finally a good cigar today. Chilled at the smokeshop for a little while, then I bought a punch cutter and came home to finish my RyJ.

It's too friggin humid around here. :x

I can imagine Wolfdaddy!!

Chicago's summer finally found some roots for a few months....we get hit pretty hard with humidity, although not nearly as bad you down in Florida I'm Sure

A Cubita SMS robusto, pretty nice. But after the ash fell off on it's own, developed an uneven burn.

Camacho Corojo monarca, pretty much what I go to whenever I want a consistently good smoke and don't have time for one of the torpedos.

glad you liked it axe!

smoka...I've never been to Chicago, but I doubt that it can get much muggier than it has been here lately. Ugh...I love Florida, but I hate it too. It's a strange thing.

Partagas Serie D no. 4 and a VSG Tres Mystique.

The Partagas was probably the best thing I had ever smoked. It reminded me of a Camacho diploma, but with more power and a lot more refinement. The Diploma's great, but this thing, my god...

Oh yeah, and the VSG was damn good as well. That's a size I can see myself liking a lot. Didn't think I would get as much smoke out of such a small ring, but it suited me quite well.

Camacho Corojo Dark Figurado - Amazing. The figurado that camacho makes is barn none my favorite torpedo on the market. It just has a good feel. Combine it wich jamastran corojo and my god an amzing stick.

Papa Bruce Lee Robusto - Like Diploma crossed with a bunch rothschild maduro. I cant say it any better then that. What a ciger.

Yesterday I had a RyJ Cedros Deluxe No 2 and a Montecristo Maduro figurado.

Haven't smoked anything yet today.

I love the Partagas Serie D's, awesome smokes...

Today I smoked a Cuban Label Torpedo, and A Camacho Fig. Dark Natural.....

I think I'm starting to develop a good understanding of what I like in a cigar....spicy, pepper, complex, fullbodied, yes folks I think I'm going to the "Dark Side" The light, and medium bodied cigars just don't get it for me. I've heard there is supposed to be a time for every type of cigar, but the say that about miller lite also soooo??

Anyway I had a wonderful smoking experience last night, with a Gran Habano No. 5 Gran Robusto!!!! Any ideas on other cigars in this style?

Gents, I just had the Giffins XXI 2005 edition. Creamier and more like the avo no 2 then last years blend which I found to have a more robust and dry aroma. This years was creamy and very smooth and definately more mild but lots of understated flavor.

As far as the gran habano goes the no. 5 is the best of the line. Stay away from the no. 3, the no. 1 is okay if you want something a little less flavorful. Just my .02

Just finished a Gurkha Legend torpedo. Not too bad. I had to relight a few times, but I enjoyed this smoke.
