Is there realy a difference inscutters. I know there are different reasons for punches and such, but what I am talking about is standard cutters. I have only used a regular guillateen(SP) cutter. Does a exikar realy make that large of a difference?

It does. The blade stays sharper longer an is much easier to control. Also, a doulbe blde will be a vast upgrade over a single blade. I would almost never us a single blade evr again. Too much risk in ruining the cap and having your cigar unravel.

Then again I usually just use the pinch method, but you need finger nails for that.

its where you take you index finger and thumb and gently press your nails into the very edge of the cap, kid of pinching the end of your cigar with the nails to cut the wrapper. You have to be careful when doing this to just get the wrapper. If you can do it right it gives you ther most control and you have the best cut on a cigar. It is not to be used for torpedos and certain perfecto's the have more than a rounded edge at the head fo the cigar.

Sounds like it is time to upgrade. I have some excelent smoke I prefer not to ruin. I gues spending $70 is alot cheaper than ruining $100's in cigars.

I agree, the Xi2 does a really nice job and you can get it for between 30-40 bucks.

stp900 - Glad that is working for you!

Best thing about Xikar is the lifetime warranty. The cutters are great. I own the Xi2 and love it and it's nice to know that if something does go wrong the company will rectify the situation. I'll probably never buy anything but a Xikar from here on out.

Thanks again. I got a smokin deal on a Xi3. Should have it tomorrow. Look forward to seeing the difference.

Wait until you see the new Xikar Havanas. They are absolutely beautiful. I have 2 Xikars, but I'll have to get one of these as well. You should be able to see them by doing a google search or going to the official Xikar website.

Wow, Chris - you are not kidding - those are beautiful. I saw them once and was blown away. My birthday is in April (wink, wink, nudge, nudge)!

It would be hard to choose which design.
