Blind Box Pass, the original

I like it. Not a bad idea. The less stress on the cigars the better. But we need people to be very diligent about getting the box out the next day. It can't sit in your house for a week. Not to toot my own horn but I had a turn around time of 45 minutes with the box (out of the post office to back in the post office).
 
I like it (maybe just cause I want in) but really that sounds great, can you send some of the wild turkey also? LOL

45 min. is not realistic to everyone's work schedule, but the principle is sound. I agree that a prompt turn around is paramount to an enjoyable pass. That said, I think the two directional box pass sounds like a great idea.....would that be called a BiPass?..lol

Sounds fine to me. However the people in the west would kinda be getting the short end of the stick. There's not that many.
 
Right now, returning for Round 2 we have: Dbrad4d, RedLeg0811, Biggie Paintbrush, Phisherman, Cybrus, Bobberrific, Brenda, Wolfdaddy, jhopephulle, iminaquagmire, Markus59, Axegod75, and DevilDog.

Adding Chrisguinther, Kelvin, Spider66, teddyg112, and SmokePole. You guys PM me your addresses for the roster.

Ok, unless I see some objections soon our plan will be: When the box gets to me I will open the envelopes and check the cigars. I will post the final inventory. I will add cigars as necessary and split the inventory into 2 boxes. 1 box will be sent west and 1 box will be sent east. I am not sure where the split line will be geographically but I will attempt to divide the roster evenly. I will post the rules for this pass in a new thread this weekend.

With this plan I believe we can add Barcochris, leeroy_fan, and jesse52 to the roster if you guys are still interested.

I like the idea of two boxes, but if I may expand on it a bit?

I'm thinking that once both boxes get back to Dean, you should send them out again, the one that went to the west should go to the east this time, and vice-versa. Cool idea? Bad idea?
 
Wow - you guys have some great ideas! I like the switch too Wolfy. I may have to smoke a cigar to celebrate these ideas.
 
Or ... the route that ends their pass with the best puts remaining in their box gets to pass the combined boxes while the other route gets to see their posts of takes and puts. :lol:

I hope I don't get dog-piled for this one, but....

We recently experienced some long delays and fear of loss with this past pass. At the time it seemed that the participants wanted to have future members be a little "seasoned" prior to joining.

I'm not exactly clear at what I'm feeling here, but I would like to see a little caution. Is there any criteria we can use to feel comfortable with newer members until we all get to know each other?
