College Football Discussion

You don't know my wife!! She is from Buffalo NY and hates the cold! She will be inside the Winnebago with the furnace set at around 70. Alot of games she does not even go into, she sits in the motorhome watching QVC and other stuff on the DirecTV satellite.

Well..I think that if we made that catch on the first drive we would be right in the game, but with the run by Rice we are attacking...even though down 14-25....but we're only in the 2nd

special teams again for louisville, that kickoff return for a td is whats really separating them. that 2 point conversion was crazy too.

both teams are looking solid.

I can't even watch the game...21 seconds left...all tied up...it's all on the kicker...I can't handle it.....AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH

I WILL NOT BE ABLE TO SLEEP TONIGHT!!!!!

WOW!!!!!!!!

Next stop - Cincinnati!

great comeback last night.

that was the first half of my plan. now if only wvu can beat rutgers, then we can decide the big east champ via tie break. I'm not counting my mountaineers out yet, I'm still looking for a good bowl game.

!!! I bet Kevin is out partying with his old frat brothers. Oh wait, he probably already went to bed, hehe. 8)

Crazy, How? Why?

Guess Jersey had it coming sooner or later.

Young punk - cut it out or I will have to have your coach's leg broken...oh, nevermind.

It is amazing that he's been on the sidelines for pretty much every game. That's some serious dedication. I wonder how the team will do without him on the sidelines. He's always a presence.

That's a pretty good attendance record - impressive. Any idea if he is going to miss more than this game?

I wonder if this might be the end of his head coaching. I know some older alumni who say that they have had enough of paterno, and that a lot of alumni felt the same way, like the old guy might be losing it. If he's really out 6 weeks, and they win a bunch of games to finish out the season it could be interesting next year.

Well yesterday the new rankings came out...I have to say that I am impressed. I could have assumed that Rutgers would be in the top ten, but the USA Today Poll has them at 8, the AP has them at 7, and we're 6 in the BCS standings!!!.....who'd a thunk it....yea baby

Enjoy the ride Kev! Gotta love when your team wins!

Part of the thing you may find out is if you end up with a loss (like hopefully Dec 2 ;) ) The reason for the jump in the BCS was that your SOS jumped in the computers from having beaten Louisville, and not having a loss keeps those points from being added to your BCS "score".

The computers can be rough becuase it is like a pyramid, you are judged not only by who you beat, but they are slanted so that what teams the team you beat also lost to (especially out of conference) affect your rating. Look at our schedule, we beat Maryland and they have gone on a tear, which has helped us out. Your victory over Pitt gets shaded by the fact they got beat OOC by Michigan State who has not done well since beating Pitt. Your OOC wins are against North Carolina (1-9), Illinois (2-9) Ohio University (7-3 in MAC), Howard University (4-6 in weak MEAC confernence). The only strong OOC team Rutgers has beaten is Navy (7-3) and they have been beaten by the 2 strongest teams they have played- Notre Dame, Rutgers--their other loss is to Tulsa)

I'm just happy the the Big East is starting to come alive. Even if we don't make it to the championship this year, the fact that the Big East is stronger than it has been over the past couple of years means that we will have to toughen up our schedule, and play more OOC games. I still don't think that we can take the SEC but hey..all in good time. The way that program has turned around, and the way the Big east is looking, we might have much better chance next year....althought I'm still hoping for this year

The bad thing is that the ACC who raided the Big East in hopes of costing us our automatic BCS Bowl Bid cannot lose their spot even though with their current situation they would have!! After taking Miami, Virginia Tech and Boston College, they got our bowl affiliation dropped, and then the BCS changed the rules (now dubbed the Big East Rule) so that if you have a Conference Affiliation with a BCS Bowl, you cannot lose your BCS bid (ACC has tie in with Orange Bowl)

In 2008 when the current BCS contract expires, they will look at results from 2004-2007 to determine who gets BCS Automatic Bids. Unless something drastic happens next season, the ACC would have lost it without the changed rule concerning bowl affiliations! The Big East with their performance OOC and final rankings last year, and hopefully this year have no worrys about losing that BCS bid!
