What was traditionally done in the factories to entertain the torcedores while rolling?

What are the people performing this service called?

You are correct in saying that they read stories and newspapers. They are not called torcedores as they are the ones rolling the cigars.
 
Oops.. I just deleted mypost b/c I realized I got the 2nd half wrong after re-reading the question. It was the guinness talking, I swear!!


I realized you said torcedors the 2nd time around. Once again, I make an idiot of myself. Wish I could find a way to make money doing this!
 
I started thinking I was seeing things as I already responded and your post was gone once my post was added. That was a neat trick. second half is still open.
 
Yea I tried to keep from looking like a fool but you caught me.

I know the answer, but to keep it fair I will refrain from posting in until tomorrow if nobody else gets it.
 
OK it's a new day, and the person that reads the stories to the torcedores is called a LECTOR.
