Welcome Nick!

You've come across the best forum there is on the net.
Not a better bunch of people than here!

New in town

Hi, everyone! I'm a professional entertainer (no, not that kind), pianist, and singer in Las Vegas. I enjoy collecting casino memorabilia, especially anything from the Sands, Copa Room, and Rat Pack. I'm new to this cigar thing, but I really enjoyed a fine authentic Cuban Montecristo when I was performing in Costa Rica, and it piqued my interest in cigars. With a glass of brandy, there is nothing better. The last cigar I had was a Romeo y Julieta, and for some reason it made me high as a kite. (oh well). Please check out my forum question regarding your recommendations between the various types of Sinatra cigars. And, if you're ever gonna be in Vegas, let me know and I'll tell you where I'm performing and we can have a stogie together.
Peace,
Ned

Thanx, Axe! We all have talents- you can cook- Hell, I can't even fry an egg (but I can hit the Start button on the microwave sometimes).

Kelvin, I thought he had to send us all "Hi I'm new to the forum" cigars if he wanted to be our friend???

Why did you all make me do that then????

HUH???

Welcome Ned.

Can anyone say, "Road Trip".

Welcome Ned and Nick.

Welcome, Stickman! This forum has a bunch of great folks. Good people. I find everyone here so helpful. I'd love to hear what becomes your new favorites. What sort of differences are you picking up on with these new quality smokes?

And,

Welcome, Ned! I was just in Las Vegas and I love old casino memorabilia. I bought a really nice (original) key chain from the Sands at the Tropicana of all places. I had a poster of Sinatra, Martin, Davis, Bishop and Lawford in my room when I was in highschool. I was the only 15-year-old in that school lissening to swing and old standards (I'm 28 now.) I still love that stuff. I was so pi$$ed when they re-made Ocean's Eleven. I would love to see you perform the next time I'm in Vegas (and have a drink and smoke, of course.) What type of music to you play? Do you play with a band?

Welcome Ned.

Because we like you the best, BP. That's why. Really. Ummm can you send more?

Hi, everyone, and thanks for all the welcoming messages, y'all (I was raised in the South).
Hi, BP!
Your Swisher Sweets are on the way! (j/k :  ) I couldn't afford those expensive El Productos :!:

Hi, Brenda! I think it's sexy to see a lady smoking a stogie! I'm currently performing at the Luxor on the weekends, crooning classic Frank, Sammy, and Dean tunes. When the alcohol kicks in (the patrons, not me- er, um, yet), I shift gears into Elton John, Billy Joel, Jerry Lee Lewis, and some Latin/Salsa music. I do a "one man band act", playing grand piano, keyboards and trumpet. Some of my jokes are funny- the more they drink, the better I sound
I also travel, and may be conducting an orchestra in Mexico City in April- it's cool to see Latin musicians play their ass off to "Luck Be A Lady" 8) I also just completed writing the score for a motion picture to be released on the West Coast this Summer called "The Return". You can check out my website http://www.nedmills.com if you're curious (not a sales pitch- I've got too much work as it is).

Yeah, I just started this casino collecting bug, but I need to pull back the reins before I get carried away. I just bought Sinatra's original movie contract with RKO from 1943 with his signature on it, and I've got all kinds of rare stuff including some records that the Chairman owned himself- it's amazing how many of his friends are still here in Vegas. I'm building a digital piano bar in my living room with custom Vegas barstools (In crushed purple velvet, of course-state law), and when you open the lid, the inside of the piano will be a combination crap table and pool table! On the other side of the room I'm designing a Vegas'themed jukebox the size of the classic Wurlitzers of the late 1940's. It will be next to my Victrola and 78's collection.
Y'all should come by this summer and we'll have a helluva jam session! (I'll have to put up serious air purifiers, though- my lease doesn't allowing smoking inside my house  )

Apologies in advance, I am a complete virgin in the cigar world, so "be gentle". I am technically a non-smoker- never smoked cigarettes (not even the "left-handed": kind). But once in a while after completing a project or to celebrate after a big show I like to light one up. People give me cigars all the time. That's why I'm so grateful to all of you because I really have no clue what I am doing, except that I'm enjoying the heck out of it. If I can only use a cigar cutter without chopping off a finger (Michael Jordan almost did that), that's a good start for me. I want to discover what I like (and don't like, for that matter), how to tell a fake Cuban from a real one, and figure out why I get a different result every time I smoke a stick- sometimes it's pure pleasure, sometimes it burns the shit out of my throat and I can't sing for 2 days, sometimes it makes me high as a kite (especially the Romeo y Julieta I had in Phoenix last fall) and somtimes the next morning I feel like I just licked an ashtray. Oh well, it will be fun learning.
Great forum, guys- keep up the good work.
Love,
Ned

Ned welcome aboard. Even though my wife has been to Vegas several times, I have yet to go. Maybe sometime this this fall.

I want to be you when I grow up. The RKO contract, LPs owned by Sinatra? How friggin' cool is that?! I've got a few 78's but nothing collectable. I've also got a '72 Seeburg jukebox. Now, a Wurlitzer. . . that's awesome. Let's see some pics.

Welcome, nedmillsmusic!

Hi, Sweetie,
I'll send pics when it's completed- I'm getting ready to stain the wood (I built it out of 3/4" birch), but have to color match the stain to match the reddish color of the Victrola. It may also take a while to complete, as I juggle it with 50 other things I'm doing.

Easy with that "Sweetie" thing, I'm spoken for. I guess it's better than chick or broad or doll or skirt or dame. Boy, you kinda are like Sinatra. Your project sounds like a lot of fun. Particularly the digital piano bar with a combination crap table and pool table. FUN! The ultimate pad.

Looks like the new year is bringing in some new friends...hi everybody! :D
great place...I just love it here.

Sweetie, Darlin, Sugar- sorry, it's a southern thing- no offense intended.
I just bought a cheap flavored cigarillo called "Al Capone Sweets"- cognac dipped. Not for cigar purists, but it will be neat to give it a try.
