Wow! Which CLE -Cuarenta or Corojo and what size ? The aslium has me stumped-was it an Asylum 13 ? Don't have-haven't smoked any of those you mentioned. The most "good" cigars I have smoked in one day is 2 and with winter coming, I doubt I will break that record.

CLE was a corojo toro, the aslium was a toro also, not a 13 .......
2 in one day dammmm I dont get out the cutter & lighter for that, my best day was 10 or 12 , but I smoke about 6 or 7 maybe 8, .... running a cigar shop has its bennifits
King Beaver cigars , 1106 Penna.Ave Monaca Pa 15061 .... 724-774-5166
I open at noon, closed on Mondays
Enjoy, Vince

Apparently I missed your occupation. If I'm ever down that way, I'll stop in and say hello.
They say Sam Clemons (AKA Mark Twain) smoked 14 a day. I've smoked as many as 8-but not good cigars.

God morning , it is Sunday Oct.28 2012 a wet cold overcast windddddy morning here in da Burgh, this moring the Boss & I went out & took down all the wind chimes & flags in the yard we are expecting a visit from Hurricane Sandy ,Monday night /Tuesday morning, ,,,,, I am not worried about it but she watches the weather channel & they play it up big so she is a bit paranoid ,,,, I dont care , nothing I can do about it , what ever the weather is , well thats just what it is .......
I made a stuffed crape for the boss & myself this morning , , bacon & ricotta cheese, sliced roma tomato on the side ,nice change from our in the rut omlets on Sundays & for a change of pace there is no beef roast in the oven today, ITS PORK,,,,, & we will have baked yams & a desert of baked apples & cranberrys ,,,, looks like the autum menu is in place .
right now I am thinking of making a grilled cheese sandwich , for some reason it keeps popping up in my mind, I just got a nice wedge of Jarlsberg cheese, & there is some Irish whisky cheese in the fridge, & the 12 grain bread just came out of the oven at the bakery this moring ,still warm when I got it ., slice a tomato on the side a few strips of bacon & grill up the sandwich, maybe an egg on it , The LUNCH menu is ready & I am hungry, ,
I have a few cigars picked out for the day , starting off with the Don Carlos #3 ( that was a few hours ago) moving to a Don Gonzalezes Perfecto maduro wth the last of the pot of kona , I have the heat on in the Qtr.deck & will be taking a 10 YEAR OLD DIAMOND CROWN #1 , looking at it last night I see a small split on the foot, so its time to smoke it before it gets damaged any more..... the family is fine & the grandson #1 just had his 17th birthday , #2 will be 15 in January.
Enjoy, Vince

Had a Gurkha legend havana blend robusto to start the day and smoked it while loading the car for our trip home for the storm from Cape Cod. Good smoke. Got home and had a double maduro Gurkha while unloading and cleaning things up in preparation for the storm.

Good morning it is Sunday, Nov.4, 2012 a cold gray morning here in da Burgh, Ijust got from under the kitchen sink, the trap was clogged , first time that happened since the new disposial went in a few years ago, as they say $hit happens , before i forget I want to say a little prayer for the people who SANDY disrupted there lives , we got a ton of wind & water here in da Burgh but nothing like Jersey & NYC, I never lost power at home or at the shop & the shingles here at home are still on the roof ! a few branches came down but no trees.
we changed the clocks last night, back on Standard time , what ever! , just big brother doing some thing to mess up our life ! ,right now I am getting ready to head out to the Qtr.Deck for a mug of coffee & a cigar , But I am behind the 8 ball right now, the tried & true Cusinart coffee pot said GoodBy , a big pop & it stopped dripping that dark brown liquid of life ,it would have been 5 years old in Feb. but now its in the trash, the back up pot is working fine BUT SLOWER , looks like I will be heading out for a coffee pot Monday. I just dont have the time to do it today, the hunk o beef is in the oven & I have a day of doing NOTHING till is time to make the gravy, even with the Cusineart out of commision , I have the Sunbeam & Keurig ,,,, you never know when some one will stop in & I hate to be waiting for coffee .
Breakfast was a little bit of a decident, Crapes , strawberrys & ricotta cheese..... NOT Frozen strawberrys , FRESH , right out of the Hot house ,,, not as good as spring time field grown BUT with the temp at 35F , I will take it anytime !
#1 grandson got his learners permit to drive , GOD help us all, ,,, how will he be behind the wheel & NO CELL PHONE ?????
Time for me to get it in gear & fire up a BIG maduro, & look at the inside of my eye lids
Enjoy, Vince

Been without phone and internet since the night the storm hit. I have given up on AT&T and am going to cable phone and internet. I've been smoking cheap cigars as it's been too cold to sit and enjoy one outside. PDR fuma churchills are tasting better and the Pirate's Gold and Sosa's are tasting pretty good. Looks like next Sunday will be the time to break out some good cigars.

Lfe is to short to smoke cheep cigars or drink bad whisky

There is no bad whiskey. And a crappy cigar is better than no cigar at all. Life is too short anyway.

Good morning it is Sunday 11/11/12 , Veterans Day , GO NAVY ! !
A sunny warm day here in da Burgh closing in on 70F for the high today ,,, But I think I will miss most of it since I am taking # one Grandsons to Carnegie Mellon Univ. for a meeting of the Stineway Society, he is a piano payer , So I will miss my sunday afternoon in the Qtr.deck & cooking out on the grill ( I had a great set of Bacon wrapped Filets ) ready to get scorched ,looks like they will be on Hold till Monday !
Breakfast was a spinich , bacon & Jarlsberg cheese omlet , had to leave out the onions , the boss gets gassy & I dont want her to be uncomfortable, & since I will not be here this afternoon , no way I can tease her about passing gas , so I will save the onions till I can be here to bug her about it !
the weather has been all over the map this past week from the remnets of Sandy which just sat in place near the Burgh to a warm front that is just wonderful with a steady wind out of the SW , it cleared a lot of leaves from the yard like a stroke of magic & some help from the wife & the leaf blower I was able to NOT do a thing with the leaves hahahaha
the shop has been up & down all week, mostly Down, just like wall street, the election didnt help sales I guess as a small town goes the spending still sees what wall st is doing ,,, its down so are sales ......
Last night I went a few miles North to Slippery Rock Cigars for a little R&R , got to BS with a few old friends & made a few new ones ,had a relaxing time & came home to spend a few hours in the Qtr.deck finishing a cigar & sipping a weeee dram of Ardberg, didnt drink much at the Rock as the LONG drive home could be a road hazzard
so its off to the Qtr.deck with My buddy Don Carlos #3, a mug of coffee, No Kona today , I just didnt feel like grinding it this morning & there was a good amount of Nicarguan estate grown all ready to go ,,,, I wonder if there is a 100% Kona coffee for the Kurig? ,,,,,, when this mug is empty I dont plan on brewing a third pot of the morning , just a mug at a time from the kurig till I get out of the house & get the grandson , But my taste buds sure could go for some Kona
Enjoy, Vince

After breakfast I fired up a Gurkha Beast. It was good but not great. I was a bit busy while smoking it and I do have a couple more somewhere to try again.

Good morning , it is Sunday 11/18/12 a nice bright some what warm /cool ? day here in da Burgh, low 50's is a bit cool But warm for november .
I have No idea what the louis vuton posting is doing here in the sunday morning smoke , looks more like an advertisement that should have been paid for !
well here comes the BS that I post most of the time....
Breakfast was a bacon egg & cheese sandwich on a grilled english muffin with tomato & onion, a pot of Eathopian grown coffee & a slice of Fruitcake , Yes I like fruitcake , ,with all the jokes floating about about bad fruitcake , I cant complain about mine , lots of fruits, Nuts & a few shots of Rum , Brandy & Bourbon.... nothing like a morning buzzz !
I will be grilling a few Pork chops later today, outside & a baked Idaho burbank spud with some sliced onions baked with the spuds,, the marinade for the chops is a mix of Italian herbs, Spanish olive oil & a bit of American white wine , from some place in NY state , last time I opened a bottle of this stuff it was sweet & tart , who knows what its like now, I didnt taste it when I opened it , I wanted it to be a suprize when we sit down to eat ,,, might be good, might not ..... only time will tell.
Number one Grandson has started driving, GOD HELP US !, he just needs to practice & get lessons from a PRO. , I took him out twice so far, & just keep him on the back country roads , open the sunroof & fire up a cigar , close my eyes & pray......... so far so good. I think #2 grandson will do better in 2 years , he isnt as easly distracted & will focus on the road better I Hope!
We had our whisky tasting at the shop Friday night , a great evening & a wonderful turn out , & long ,long wait with a pot of coffee before I went home , I stopped tasting about 8:30 pm & didnt go home till after 11pm ,

ahhhh yes it was a great night ! .

We did get the Smoke Across America 2 pack , one Opus X & one Diamond crown, both shaped like a short story on Mega Steriods ,,,,, 50 bucks a box was the cost to me & it is the cost to you, I got 15 boxes & got one for my self, so I have 14 to sell & send the check to the Chartible Foundation ,,,, I need to get into the paper work & see when we will be doing it , ,you get 2 RARE cigars , I plan on smoking both of them since the Aztec's say the world will end I see no reason to "save" the cigars for a better time to smoke them hahahaha , & since the "world" will be comming to an end soon , I plan on sipping up all my OLD single malts, ,,,, if the Aztec's are wrong .... So what I will have enjoyed a LOT of Great whisky & cigars , & isnt that what life is about , ENJOY what you have when you have it Pray to God it get better every day & if it get worse , Just work harder to make it better & enjoy what you have ...... I guess you could call me a maker & not a taker , sure I get social security now , BUT I Paid into it all my life & will never get back everything I paid in , I paid the max every yeAR THAT i CAN REMEMBER, i LOOKED FORWARD FOR THAT LAST CHECK OR 2 OF THE YEAR WHEN i WAS Exempt from Social security as I had paid in the max for the year, , after that it was ALL MINE save the IRS they never stopped taking out there money , But the more they took the more I got back when I filled ,,,, remember figures dont lie , but liers figure
sales tax is the way to go , No deductions , No exemptions, every one pays the same, , & the Government need to get the Budget in order, Balance the SOB, DONT SPEND what you dont have , Cut the "PORK" & get rid of the BS agencys , cut back on employment entitle ment for government workers, make congress be part of social security & let them BUY there own health care like we all do , NO pentions for elected positions, ,,, SERVE a few years & go back to work, ,,,, dont feed from the public, feed your self !
well its time for me & my buddy Don Carlos #3 a pot of Kona & a weeee dram of Arbergt put on some Jazz & get out to the Qtr.deck, My wife all ready has the Christmas music playing & singing along with Perry Como , Andy Willimas & Eartha Kitt
time for me to vacate ! , Enjoy, Vince

Good morning it is Sunday 25th of november, one month till Christmas , a few days after the Turkey Bomb exploded here , ahhhhh what a bird, Turkey & more turkey, , with just the Wife & myself we had a small 10 pound bird, I made a few mashed spuds, a bit of stuffing , a Lot of gravy & a few yams with a little dish of baked apples & cranberrys for desert, ,My daughter spent the day with her in laws, & it was just the 2 of us here, , the bird came out of the oven looking like a a piece of Bronze, the color was grand, it sliced like a hot knife on butter, , the stuffing was nothing fancy, basic bread, veggies & some seasoning, but it did get a little moist when it sucked up a bit of pan drippings, , the gravy went well with it , the apple cranberry compote was a bit sweet , but it went well on the cream of wheat I made this morning , it was a cream of wheat morning here in da Burgh, I have no idea how low it got last night but it is 30F here now, we had a dusting of snow yesterday & again this morning BURRRRRRR
Not a lot happening at the shop , a few "seasonal" shoppers heading to the woods for the first day of Buck season ( that is the first monday after thanksgiving a holiday here in da Burgh. ) well they NEED there yearly camp cigar ,,,, nothing to strong, not to dark , dammm that cost is WAY TO MUCH , what have you got cheeper, , I send them to the gas station to get a swisher or a back woods , I dont carry any machine made cigars at all, 100 % hand rolled, you got to pay for the QUALITY, & since its a one time a year celebration , I can get them in to getting a Mac, or a Monte white or one of the ones I roll myself &at 6 bucks for a 6 X 60, no thats to Fat, so for 5 bucks they get a 6 X 50 ,hey they are pleasing to the eye , the cuban style tripple cap is in place , the wrapper might be on the cigar with the wrong side on the outside, ( the eyes just cant see the difference some times ) bt they smoke OK, not great, But OK ,,,,,,, I am slow & have a limitated resource for tobacco, so what I get I make, I dont think I will ever make any money doing it as I am S L O W in getting them together.
NUMBER ONE GRANDSON IS DRIVING , you have been warned ! #2 in 1 1/2 years.....
I got the day off from cooking, we are having left overs , TURKEY, 2 people & a 10 pound bird , with a few side dishes leaves a LOT of turkey to make soup, creamed turkey, turkey salid, , turkey pot pie, & turkey sandwiches..... ole standby turkey sandwiches, , whole wheat toast, lettuce ,tomato, mayo, thin slice of sweet onion & a slice of cheese , some of the sliced breast & leg meat , a dolip of cranberry relish on the side , a cup of soup & you have a great meal fast & easy.
Right now I am working on a pot of Italian roast coffee , dont think I will get to brew any Kona today & if I did I might not be able to taste it! ,,,, dammmmmm this stuff is like rocket fuel, what a BUZZ , I think they added the cafine that was taken out of the decafe...... Morning Buzz , not as good as a morning beer buzz , but with the temps in the low 30's I dont want a cold beer, or a warm beer thank you verry much !
The heat is on in the Qtr.Deck, should be up to temp soon , it was 32 F in there about an hour ago , I will hold out till it's at lest 65F in there , no reason to be cold,
I havent hit any of the humidors this morning & have no idea what to jump on this morning , with this coffee I will pass on the Don Carlos #3 & start with a Camacho that i picked up last May on the Cigar Crawl . who knows what might be next.... today looks like a POWER BOMB day
Enjoy, Vince

Good moring it is Sunday Dec.2 2012, a warm sunny day here in da Burgh , it is confusing the deer & the hunters,we should be in the low 40's for the high temp, but we are looking at the mid 60's for todays high, a nice warm breeze out of the South west is driving the the temps up & the wind is removing what few leaves we have on the trees
I have the day off & will not be cooking the sunday hunk o beef , I did do the breakfast cooking this morning , but I am going to a Steeler Smoker with my brother this afternoon, , a few cigars , a beer or 2 a serve your self CHOW LINE tail gate foods
I plan on taking a flask of Laphoraig,,, never know when you might get snake bite!
Since my brothers wife passed away he has been down in the dumps, , but who can blame him, so today I will be the BIG brother & try to get him out of the house g some booze in his gut a few cigars & some fatty sloppy BBQ on his chins , & maybe watch the Steelers win. , Some will say that since Pittsburgh has 6 super bowl wins we should share the wealth....... I just dont know about that
grandson #1 is driving you have been warned,,,,,
the shop started out the holiday season with a BIG jump in sales & dammm I thought we were off to the races, but then it slowed to a crawl & & the daily average went DOWN..... dammmmm
Yesterday we found a new place to eat , a Tex-Mex- Asia fushion pace , Tofu Burettos, tacos, enchaladas, & untill you try Wasibi on your refried beans with Habanaro necter, then you will need a Quart of margarettas to put out Fire
dammmm My @$$ is on FIRE today
time to get moving , pick out the cigars I will be taking for my brother & my self, ,,, might forgo the ttriditional Don Carlos #3 & start the day with a 64 Anniv Maduro Princippe,or maybe that Contraband Fonseca Corona that has been calling my name for the past 2 years ,well I need to get on with my day, & get over to pick up my little brother, Enjoy, Vince

Good morning it is Sunday the 9th day of December 2012 a chilly gray day here in da Burgh , a few days ago my baby girl turned 40 & there was a celebration last night at a local watering hole ,a lot of her childhood friends were there & a few co workers & family , it was a fun time for all ,she was a bit tippsy but having the time she should, a princess theam complete with a crown, a castle cake & all the BS associated with a pain in the @$$ princess ,the Queen mother was at home , & sent her regrets, she had gone shopping with her sister & did have a good time after they ate , & she got sick , so a short time on the couch & she went to bed & I went to the party, ,,, its a tuff life but some one must do it .
I have been fooling arround with blending a Christmas blend coffee , this mornings try is a base of Americana beans with a touch of vanillia & hazel nut , a splash of Cinnamonn
not great but not bad, I am not big on flavored coffees But we had some Christmas Blend coffee a few years ago from Hickory farms , the cheese people & it ws different But limited availability , I try to get a pound every holiday season from them & this year they were sold out in Oct.& the local shop was not able to get any at all. , so I have been trying to make my own,,,,, close but NO CIGAR
the shop has been all over the map, Friday I started off with a BIG BANG, steady traffic from Before I was open till about 1/1:30 & then NOTHING till after 4 PM, so for over 2 hours I watched TV, BORING !, & when I thought I would clean some glass, a few regulars showed up & we got the BS going & before you know it, TIME to go home !
I case some of you havent picked up a news paper & watched a news Broadcast on TV , ,,, Dave Brubeck, famed JAZZ maker , passed away 1 day before his 92nd Birthday,,, "Take 5" will never sound as sweet.
breakfast this morning was a Riccotta stuffed pancake ,Not great but not bad
a little tweeking will be needed on the recipe, , as with the coffee, & the pipe tobacco I have been trying to blend, all works in Progress, maybe some day I will finish one of them !
time to Brew up the Sunday Kona & get the heat on in the Qtr.deck get the Hunk O beef in the oven & get my Lazy tired old @$$ in gear, get on a pair of pants & shirt, maybe shoes & sox.,Have a great day all, Enjoy, Vince

What - no cigar ! I too will miss Dave Brubeck and that great quartet- met him in the 60's at a Cobbs in Grand Central Station while waiting for our trips by train to CT--seemed like a nice guy. I also tried some pipe tobacco blends and had one semi-sucess---finally settled on a black cavendish.

tfirst cigar today was a Don Carlos #2 torp, right after breakfast, after i got the hunk o beef in the oven I had a Padron 1964 anniv. maduro princippe, later with a scotch ( brundahabahaine) & coffee I had a 3 Renyos maduro robusto, after supper I went with a BIg Fonseca 10-10 in a natural wrap, we will be heading out for a Cigar ride & a trip to CharBuck$ & I have a Alex bradley T-11 torp , after that is a guess !

Good morning it is Sunday 12/16/12 a damp cool morning here in da Burgh. First on the menu for todays rant is the killings in Ct. ,My prayers go out to the familys of the Children & teachers, ,,,,, had the teachers or adminastration had a side arm the outcome might have been a lot different, we dont need more gun laws , we need to be able to look into the future & be able to predict the actions of the sck people out thewre, & that isnt going to happen .... so we grieve & pray that it will not happen any time soon .

the hunk O beef is ready to go in the oven, & the coffee is a Holiday blend that has a little touch of Vanilla, Hazelnut & apple pie spice mix, the Boss likes it ...... thats all that matters, I will drink it keep my mouth shut , wash my mug before I add the Sunday morning Kona & fire up a Perdomo 20/25th anniv. smoke, I was sipping a weeeeee dram of scotch last night & a friend gave me the cigar & I cant remember if it was a 20 or 25 anniv. & I am to lazy to get up & check.

We had a little Christmas party last night at the shop, Nothing fancy just a bunch of cigar smokers getting to gether like any other saturday night , but we had egg nog & cookies to go along with the beer & Pizza.

this past week we went to see Manhime Steamroller live at the Benidum theater in Da Burgh Got a flat tire in the parking garage, cost 2 bucks for the air, ending up needing a new tire, Thank God I was able to get home on the tire they wanted 250 bucks to replace the tire on the spot, CASH olny , sure I carry that kind of cash all the time hahahaha , so I got it home , & at the local shop , a new tire on the car & out the door 94 bucks & a cigar for the kid who changed the tire.....

Some one down the road must have picked up a new gun , ,,, all morning I have been hearing POP , POP, POP,from the east of me , lots of safe places to shoot in the area ,& there are 3 sportsmans clubs with in 5 miles of my home & a numer of Private land spaces you can shoot. & there is a lot of lead in the air every weekend ..

I will be firing up that Perdomo anniv. & have a Liga Undercrown all ready to fire up after that. Lord knows what might tickel my taste buds after that
Nothing new with the family , Same old stuff, just different flys
Time to get the hunk O beef in the oven

Hey Vince, so glad I don't live in the Burgh any more. Nice weather here in Texas and I'm outside with my middle child and we're celebrating her success that she had in her class with a HC Maduro and a glass of champagne (with a shot of Gran Marnier) after church.

,when I was in nthe Navy I lived all over the place, but I call da Burgh Home, , I loved San Diego, but I dont speak enough Spanish to live there, Chicago was to cold, Philidelphia was to much like da Burgh, close enough to get HOME weekends, , Norfolk was Ok , bt it wasnt Home ! ,,, now that i am a lot older i think about some place warm, but NOT HOT, if there was a place in the world, that had a supply of cigars, coffee & scotch, electricty at need, & I didnt need a furnace or a/c , I would go there !
