Good morning it is Sunday 9/20/15 a cool sunny day here in da Burgh,,, looking for a high in the low 70's today , ,, lots of clouds & a BLUE sky a great last Sunday of the summer of '15 . the trees have started to drop leaves all ready & the goldenrod in the field is in full blume & so are the runny nose's & sneezing & coughing,,,, I missed my first day of work in a long time with a sinus condition that was killing me ,,, the pain & runny nose were at the breaking point my nose was so sore I just let it run,,, it hurt to touch it to wipe it ... ,,, I loaded up all kinds of stuff to stop the pain & dry out the nose ,,,, NO Help ,,,, the only thing that helped was sleep & lots of juice( some of it spiked with a lot of Vodka ) ,,, I am not a vodka drinker ,,, but it did help me sleep,,, no reason to waist good scotch when I cant taste it ..... ,,,, so it was OJ Apple & tomato all week long & a liter of Sminoroff 100 proof .... got the job done ... I haven't had a cigar since Thursday ,,,,, I didn't finish it ,,,,, not even half of it ,,, a true waisted cigar ...... Don't think I will have one today ....... some one could give me a swisher or a monte ,,, would not be able to tell the difference,,,, so why bother.

I haven't been hungry at all but I did put a hunk o chuck in the oven for the boss today ,,, and I did make her a cheese, peppers ,tomato, & ham scrambled egg this morning , I had a half a pot of coffee & a slice of Dark Rye with sour cherry preserves.... could almost taste it,,, the coffee???? I have no idea ,,, the taste buds are worthless right now.... cant tell you if it was good or bad, all I know it was warm & helped get the flow of the day going ,,,,,
I think I will be going back to bed soon ,,, time for a hand full of Vit.C , asprin, & anti histomines
,,, & a weeeeee dram of Juice with a nice heavy spike of Russin Chicken soup......

good morning it is Sunday 9/27/15 a season correct day here in da Burgh some what cool but a warm wind out of the SW with a cloud filled sky & rain in the forecast .. the rack of ribs got a dry rub last night& will be on the plate about 4 with yams & eggplant. Breakfast was a cheese blintz with cherry preserves & sour cream the coffee was Columbian ,,, not outstanding but a solid staple coffee..... the Kona will be ready soon as well as the Don Carlos #3 ,,,

Yesterday I was at the local grocery store wearing my shirt with , the cigar smoking ,,, need of a shave , smiley face , & the young girl at the check out said my shirt was "CUTE"
dammmm ..... I haven't been told anything I did or had on was cute in MANY years ...

I missed a few days of work last week, as I was under the weather & didn't want to do much of anything , all I did was lay around & sleep.... No cigars No scotch, just sleep.....

I have nothing planned for today other than cooking,,, but Monday I might get out the step ladder & a tube of clear silicone & get up to the new gutter & put a nice bead between the gutter & awning as I have a little drip here & there all along the gutter & you can see a gap here & there .... so I will help it out I hope,,,,

the local High school Football season is underway & the Friday night sales show it ,,,, way down as most of the customers are at the games & not in the shop....

the fall season has started & the leaves are starting to change color , the golden rod & all the other seasonal allergens are all in full swing,,, the eyes are watering & the nose is sneezing . Just life in the good old USA....

I saw a Quote from the Hungarian President ( I think it was him anyway ) , he was addressing the rioters coming in from the middle east "fleeing ISIS " & the quote was" IF you can fight with the police here ,,,, GO home & fight with ISIS in your own country"

I don't think they are all refugee's , I think a lot of them are just Invaders .....
This is a tuff point for me ,,, I believe in the Golden rule & in the word of God from the Bible , but the contradiction is eating me from the inside,, Islam is not a Peaceful religion the simple fact that if you don't conform you should be killed ,,,, kind of like the Borg, from Star Trec ,,, resistance is futile ... well I for one will resist , & that makes me have to choose to be a pain in the @$$ & fight the fight or nuckle under & go with the flow,,,,, I know it hasent come to that here yet ,,, but soon it might , & I have thought it over & over & have been stocking up on ammo ,,, just in case, & if the Namby Pamby government wants my guns they will have to take them as I am a firm beliver in the second amendment


dammm I am sounding a bit hard core this morning , maybe its the pain in my sinus , making me less tolerant ,,,, or my old age & my dislike of change,,, I am a status quo kind of guy , .... BUT if I hit the lottery for a few Hundred million , well that change I might be all right with ,,,,,,, I think.... hahahahaha

I have a few yams to cut & an eggplant to get ready & a cigar to smoke as well as A POT OF KONA so I better get to the task at hand,,,, Enjoy, Vince

 
Good morning , it is Sunday 10/4/15 a cool overcast morning here in da BURGH.. I am moving a little slow this morning , just not up for the grind I have in front of me ,,, even if the Boss has her hunk O beef in the oven ( & I burnt myself as the hot oil splashed out of the pot when I turned the chuck roast over,,, all down my chest & wrist ,,,, dammmm that hurts... I haven't burnt my self like that in a few years,,, but when you play with fire ....... ) & breakfast dishes are done ,,,,, a ham, cheese, onion & pepper scrambled egg with Almond bread toasted & sour cherry preserves ,,, the coffee was a red coffee from some place in Central America or South America,,, not sure.. & as you know I am to lazy to get up & check .... I have a bit of a headache this morning & I think I will be taking some thing for it & maybe a nap in the Qtr. Deck.... after the Don Carlos & Kona ......

Not much going on with the family,,, we did go to a brunch for a Grand Niece who turned the BIG ONE ,,, her FIRST birthday,,, now she will have 29 more & that's it hahahaha


My wife just informed me the coffee is Panama Red,,,,,,, seams to me to ring a bell,,,,, the name ... I know I have heard it before hahahaha

My Sunday morning disjointed thoughts & BS is a way for me to let out my frustrations & let you all know what if anything is going on here in da burgh,,, I am not much of a sports fan any more , I find the climb to the seats in the stadium are hard on the legs, & the lines in the men's rooms are long,,,, so I have decided to any more trips to town to watch Paid men play a game , HS football is king , they play for the glory of winning , maybe they are not as fast or as big as the rest but they have HEART......


WE DO NOT have a GUN problem in this country ,,, we have a problem with people who need the medication & don't take it..... ,,,,
Hondoris,,, the population is about 3.8 Million,,, about the same as Switzerland,,,, both have a strick gun law , NOT allowed in Hondouris,, MUST have in Switzerland,,, ,, one is the murder capital of the world the other is the savest place in the world,,,, , Just remember if the guy your trying to rob is armed chances are you will get shot,,,,, So you pick a place with the BIG SIGHNS that say this is a GUN free zone ,,, & that's where you set up you criminal enterprise ,,, that's where you can get away with MURDER ,,, if the person is able & willing to fight back or return fire you might want to rethink your enterprise & move on ,,,,

For you slow minded people the safe country is Switzerland where EVERYONE has a gun provided by the government ,,, in case of an uprising or a threat to the national security EVERYONE is ready to stop the invaders or terrorest's

China is not a safe place as the form of government is lacking in freedom , but they take a very dim view on Islam & BS that is going with it ,,,, you will conform or die,,,,, that is BS , so the government stands up to the millitants & puts them down,,, not like here where we cater to them & Finance them. ,,, it is a conflict I haven't been able to resolve in my mind..... Do unto others,,,,,,,, BUT if you know that the had that is feeding them will be chopped off,,, what do you do ?

good morning it is Sunday 10/18/15, a cool fall day here in da burgh, I took last Sunday off , I was so busy with the family I just forgot to post,,,,, But I was up early this morning , took the grandson to work as his car is in the shop, grandson #2 is a HS Sr. & is working at a local K-Mart, , so I was up & out of the house before breakfast to get him to the job on time,, he gets picked up later,,,,,, breakfast was a cheese stuffed crape with peach compote& the coffee was zimbonway ,,,,, ther jusry is still out on that pot of coffee, ,, the Sunday moring Kona is almost ready & Don Carlos #3 is standing by ... I did have a mug of Italian roast as I went out the door this morning & a Conn. CLE , on the drive to do what a grandfather is supposed to do when the parents don't have the time .......
Todays hunk O beef is in the oven ,a nice hunk of Angus Chuck, carrots celery, onions garlic, & red bell pepper, some seasonings & magic dust , a drop of red wine ,,,, I think some of it might have made it to the pot but right now I am not to sure hahahaha,,, the yucon gold spuds go in later ......
The shop had a fair week ,,, the change of seasons has shortened our outside smoking but the lounge traffic hasn't kept up & sales are just a little light.
went out for an oil change Saturday, left the house lit up some little corona from a large island some what south of Fla. , I hit the local 10 minute oil change place , was in & out , windows washed, floor vac, & paid , back on the road before the cigar had a chance to go out,,,,, BING BANG BOOM , DONE.

GOD is there no rest in that wife of mine ,,, her OCD is in high gear today ,,,,,, JUST sit down & shut up , get out of her way..... I am heading to the Qtr.Deck to escape ,,,, Enjoy, Vince


 
Good morning , it is Sunday 10/25/15 a cool wet Sunday here in da Burgh, we have a wonderful looking hillside with all the trees in their maulti color splender there are a few trees that are all ready bare & the yard is covered in leaves ,,, I am not ready for the fall clean up , still thinking about spring , haven't gotten thru summer in my mind & now it is time to put away the furniture & get out the dreaded snow shovels ,,,, dammmmmm
Yesterday was the grandsons 20th birthday ,,, no longer a teenager , grandson #2 will be 18 in Jan. ,,,, dammmm I feel OLD .......
Not much going on at the shop, just selling cigars & insulting customers as often as I can
breakfast this morning was a 3 cheese bacon & egg stir fry with wheat berry toast & Eathopian coffee, the Kona is brewing as I type ! ,& I have a ISOM PUNCH , corona to start the day with ,,, nothing like starting at the top of the hill ,,, the only way will be down for the rest of the day,,, But I think I have a good line up to get me to bed time tonight,,,,, there is a choice of Padron 1964 anniv. , Opus, Davidoff, & Diamond crowns to pick from , but I just might fire up a Robert Burns Black Watch , an El Producto Queen , or a Marsh Wheeling,,,, who knows what & when I will have next,,,,, might not even get to it as the Boss MIGHT want me to do something hahahaha ,
I have some chicken defrosting , & a pot of rice to do something with today, ,,,, I will see what is in the pantry & figure out some thing later today , had it been the traditional hunk O beef it would have been in the oven already but since it is chicken , it will need a lot less time to cook,,,, Right now all I ant to do is empty my bladder , squeeze out the gut & then head for the Qtr. Deck & the Sunday morning Cigar , & a little Jazz on the CD player . Enjoy, Vince


 
Good morning it is Sunday 11/1/2015 a cool damp overcast morning here in da Burgh. November , all ready , where did the time GO ? where ever it went it was fast.... thing haven't changed much in all the years I have been posting this BS every Sunday morning , the menu is almost always the same as that's what the Boss wants but today I have a nice piece of pork that will be done in the style of a Rolled stuffed & baked ,,,, haven't thought about the sauce yet ,,, Tomato? Apple ? BACON???? what ever, the boss wants .....
breakfast was a bagel & bacon cream cheese with a banana , & coffee was a wonderful Eathopian estate coffee from a local roaster & it was an outstanding pot of coffee, bright, flavorful smooth & a lot lighter roast than I usually drink,,,, this was almost a blond roast ,,, but it was a great flavor , almost a Kona roast but just a shade darker , & speaking of Kona it is time to get that pot going,,, , I do have a Don Carlos President that has been in the humidor a few years & it is TIME for it .... (running low on the #3's )
I did pick up a few new cigars this past week the Lancero from Don Gonzalazes . the 10th anniv. edition .... ,,, got 2 boxes, one will get put in the long term storage humidor & the other will get smoked ! NOW ..... & I picked up some of his Soloman shaped cigars & have them sitting in the humidor getting ready to smoke in a few weeks ,,,, or a few days ,,, maybe a few hours , if I break the box open today ,,, maybe , maybe not ... well it might be a great fallow up for the Don Carlos president ,,,, hummmmmm ....
the shop is still holding its own, nothing exciting , nothing but WORK,,,, dammmm that's a BAD word,,, 9 years & counting ,,,, No end in sight.....
The wife has started her list of things for me to do & is talking to me as I try to type,,, so I need to get off the computer & HELP her .. Enjoy, Vince




 



Good Afternoon , it is Sunday 11/8/15 a cool clear day here in da Burgh. a SLOW week here , nothing going on , just marking time , the shop had an average week, the grandsons were busy with there lives & the weather was warm & sunny 70F here a few days , unseasonal weather for the burgh, a bit cool for you lucky dogs in the tropics but great for November here.
One of my buddys cam back from Canada with a MOOSE , all butchered & wrapped, I have a hunk of moose going in the crock pot Monday morning,,,, the boss isn't sure she will eat it , so I need to make it along with some thing else, that's why I will be using the crock pot , , a BIG hunk of bone is attached & the marrow will melt & make a Flavor bomb ,,,, a bottle of Red, some veggies & a bit of olive oil some herbs & spices in the pot, a hunk of garlic & some berrys to finish & add a weeeee bit of sweetness, some roasted gold skinned & red skinned spuds & what ever else falls out the pantry & fridge,,,, should be a great meal,,, but today it is her standby ,,, yep the same old same old,,, HUNK O BEEF ,,, she loves it & a happy wife is a happy life,,,,
this morning I had a bagel & bacon with cream cheese , and the coffee was an estate coffee from God knows where , all it said on the bag was estate,,,, no country, no idea , this is one I didn't roast my self,,,, & all being said it was Good, , nothing distinctive, just a nice unflattering basic coffee, not bland, not acidic, , not smooth, not much of anything , ,,,, kind of like the stuff you drink on the long road trips from some mom & pop shop in boonies between here & there. ....
I have a Casa Fuentes waiting for me... a buddy just came back from Vegas & picked up one for me ,,,, so when the Kona is ready , I will be setting fire to it ,,,, should be a GREAT fallow up for the Don Carlos #3 ......

the morning started a bit late for me this day , didn't get out of bed till after 9AM,,,, it was so comfortable & warm I didn't want to get up..... a sign of old age, laziness or was it just to much of a great Saturday night? hahaha , well the day is on the move & todays hunk O beef is in the oven , the breakfast dishes are done & the aroma of the Potato pancakes is still filling the air,,,, soon to be over come by the beef, Onions , Garlic,Celery & Carrots and later potato..... they don't go in yet.....

All this fuss about the stupid cups from Charbuck$ ,,,, who cares , a cup is a cup,,,,, will it hold coffee? yes . OK case closed,,,,,
so much to cry about, some people have a loaf of bread under each arm & a ham in THIER hands & say they don't have anything , like the mizzlow students crying that he was UNDERPRIVLAGED ,, hahaha the MORON's father is an exec, with a rail road making 8.4 MILLION a year,,,, I want to be under privlaged,,, & the young lady interviewed by Neil Cavuto , OH sure I want to pay 90% of my income to help the less fortune...... in a PIGS EYE ,,, cry baby GET A JOB, pay for your education by working not getting a loan, loan s need to be paid back,,,, get a JOB , WORK your way through school, unless you buffy or stanford & daddy has big bucks , don't burden your family with debt , don't burden your self with debt....

haven't talked to the grandsons much , with one working ( teaching English) in Columbia South America & one in School & WORKING a Part time Job at KMART they just don't seam to have time for the old man.....
the shop was S L O W all week , one of the lowest sales weeks in the nine years we have been open, the weather Sucked, hot , cold, dry, wet ,windy & calm , it changed every 10 minutes , back & forth , just no one was out on the street, yes the regulars were there , but they don't by more than a few stick between all of them... they get a box on payday & pick up a few sticks here & there , BUT If I had to make a living from just them I would have been CLOSED years ago..... NOW if every one shows up at the same day & time the money dosen't get spread out over the week ..... so I guess a little over time , is better than ONE sale to hit the same total.... I don't know what is better...... .

the boss & I went for a cigar ride last night, a stop at Charbuck$ for her gingerbread lattee , I had a tripple espresso . listened to the radio, smoked an OLD H.Upman
Dbl.Corona,,, it was 12 years in the humidor........ smooth , mellow & lasted almost 3 hours .......
the KONA is ready, the heat is on in the Qtr. Deck & there is a Don Carlos #3 calling me

Good morning it is Sunday 11/22/15 the Anniv. of the assisanition of JFK. , a chilly November Day here in da Burgh but no snow yet this season, last year at this time we were asshole deep in the fluffy white stuff , so far so good , the trees are about 90% bare & the mulch pile is looking good , I have been tossing the leaves & grass into the same pile over 40 years ,,, it should be making some great dirt at the bottom by now ,,,,,,
Last Tuesday I went to 7 springs resort to roll cigars at the chamber of commerce meeting , a NON smoking venue ....... BUT I did have a great time,,,, had a few drinks , ate some great food, for a conference center ,,,, & made a few bucks ,,,, all in all a good day ....
I have the day off as far as cooking Sunday Supper , we are going to clean out the fridge & dispose of all the left overs , it is just filling up the freezer & fridge , so on todays menu will be deep fry cod, sushi, chicken, shrimp,& what ever else falls out , breakfast was a bit of leftovers made into a scrambled egg dish, , so much little stuff in containers , it all went into the pan,,,,, along with some great Jarlsburg cheese & a few slices of ham ,,,,, , so much filling it overpowered the taste of the egg..... But I did have enough tabasco to hide the sweetness of the mashed sweet potato ..... Like I said , re fridge fall out! , Open the door and what falls out gets cooked !
we had a whisky tasting at the shop Friday night, I picked up a few bottles of scotch (what else would I take hahahaha ) & some Gin ,,, don't under estimate the flavor of a well mixed martini ,,,, how ever these were not well mixed ! ,,,, BUT a buzz is a buzz hahahaha
Havent talked to the grandsons ,,, they are BUSY people ,,,, I know I didn't get to spend a lot of time with my grandparents when I was in High School & in the Navy soon after,,, ,,, Now here I am the grandfather of 2 young men , & I feel OLD
With Turkey day this week , we will be closed on Thursday & open bright and early , at NOON on Friday ....... , a 3 day work week for me again this week, hahahahahah I might try that idea more often , I like the time off , but Knowing I have a place to go when I am off yep I can go to the shop & sit & relax & let some one else make the coffee & wait on the customers,,,,,,,

Coffee this morning was an Ethopian estate coffee, & brewed a little light for my taste buds but the wife liked it ,,, I did make a small pot of Columbian AA extra strong ( 4 Cups ) ,, I am finishing it now, & will be getting the Kona on soon , the Don Carlos #3 will be center stage asap, & there are a few grand cigars to back it up,, I know for sure a Low rider Zino , will be there , a BIG & FAT 75th Anniv, Monte Edmundo, & what ever else I find that looks good ! all I need now is a stack of CD's & a comfortable chair, and maybe a weeee dram of single malt .... good evening it is Monday 11/23/15 almost 9 pm I went to the doc today & am sitting in the Qtr. Deck with a ISOM monte corona , the last of the Murry McDavid single malt ,distilled in 1996 aged in a bourbon cask for 14 years & finished in a Chatue Petrus cask ,,, only 1200 bottles of this expression were made & I got 3 of them.... finishing the last one tonight, I have a 24 hour heart monitor on & go back in the AM to have it taken off... I will give them a a day of drinking & shopping with my wife to set the bells & whistles off The grandson in south americia wanted 28 x32 jeans,,,, so we found one pair at ross park mall about 20 miles south of us,,, then we went to the Robinson town mall to the same store for 2 more pair.... about 20 miles away from where we were,,, & then home in rush hour traffic,,, but we did stop for supper & I loaded up on sushi with lots of wassabi ,, I dont think my sinus will ever be as clear as they are now hahahaha. . so she is upset about the cost to mail them to him, 75 bucks for international priorty 65 fpr ground shipments & I took the priorty,,,, what the h3ll for 10 buck more & he will have it in time for christmas ,,, gorund has no time gaurntee . damm this scotch is great & the cigar is a real winner & the coffee is a 20 ounce mug of eathopian yurgocheff .... the CD player has a Windom Hill the first 10 years . a compalation of all the artists they had in the first 10 years ,,, I am enjoying it
A buddy was supposed to stop on his way home from work but he is a no show ,,, so I will drink his whisky & smoke the Ashton ESG I pulled out for him , the churchill sized cigar will b e a good night cap hahahaha.

I havent been getting any feedback on the posting & I wonder if anyone is still reading this BS,,,

We had a whisky tasting at the shop Friday night & I picked up 2 more bottles of single malt, one called the alcimist & the other is an Islay whisky but I dont remember its name,,,, not that it matters hahaha it will be turned into piss some day soon hahaha
the reason the monitor is on ,,, I have been tired a lot & when checking my BP it has been low & the heart rate was only in the high 40's to low 50;s so the dock wants a 24 hour check.... pace maker here I come ..... what the h3ll I have lived a hard life 100 hour weeks for many years will take its toll on you & let s face it I am not as yopung as I was 20 years ago hahaha... granted I have been retired 13 years now .... damm it is hard to belive 62 was that long ago....

10 cigars a day, a bottle of scotch every week & a few pots of coffee every day have kept me going this long ,,, no reason the next 13 will not be much different hahaha

it is getting cold here in da Burgh .. only 19F last night,, it topped out at 38 F todayBUT the local weather man said it might be 60/62 on Thanksgiving ... the bird is been defrosting in the fridge since Saturday & will get a soak in the brine wed. night & be in the oven about 10 am thursday,,,, the stuffing , potatos & veggies will be done about 4 PM & the cranberry sause is all ready in the fridge ready to go... a nice bottle of white Italian wine & some hard cider will complete the meal, some desert, I have no idea what I will be making but the wife wants pumpkin pie...... boring but traditional... I wanted to make some thing I can flavor with the small bottle of black cherry vinigar I picked up today,,, A plain vanilla ice cream is what I wanted to make,,, might just do BOTh !

time for me to get going the cigar needs some attention & the coffee is loosing its heat,,, time for a final dram of whisky & then off to bed & back to work in the AM... Enjoy, Vince

Still here Vince and trying hard not to respond when you go political in your posts. Been there with the heart monitor and been on medication to slow the heart down since. My married granddaughter is pregnant so it looks like I'll be a great grandpa next year.

Thinking back in time, one of the guys in my college dorm was from your area and was a scholarship quarterback for our football team. He would have played where you are in the '57-'60 seasons and his name was Gil McLish (or Macliesh) and he was a nice guy. Any recollection ?

good afternoon, it is a gray chilly day here in da Burgh , the high is forecast for the mid 40's , a far cry from the almost 70 we had Thanksgiving day. I hope everyone had enough Turkey...... & that's on todays menu,,, Leftovers On Sunday!!!! no hunk O Beef for the boss, AMEN, it was a strange week at the shop sales were brisk at the beghining of the week & we were closed Thursday, & Friday started out to be a record sales day , & POOOOOF , Nada , zip ,zilch , NO one came in for over 4 hours, I closed early & went home !
99 % of my shopping is done,,, just one mere person to buy for , the BOSS..... after 45 years of Birthdays, Anniv., & Christmas,,,, WHAT to get her? , I am easy,,, single malt whisky & cigars, I consume them like air & water, so I always need them,,,, she how ever has no bad habits , UNLESS you count her OCD , & how do you buy some thing for that ????
not much going on with the grandsons, & I am still waiting for the doc to call with the results of the monitor .... no news is good news....
I made a cheese omlet for the boss this morning , washed it down with a Papa New Guinney medium roast coffee, a few drops of blood orange EVOO to finish the eggs & a slice of Oatmeal toast,,,, now I am waiting for the press pot of KONA & todays cigar will be an ISOM Bolivar corona ,,, after that ,,, who knows ,

the hunk O beef is in the oven & the don carlos #3 is now history,,, the kona will be later today with a NICE ISOM Bolivar torp that has been in the humidor way to long , I have heard it calling for years but just never got to it ,,, today is the day !
this mornings paper was missing the first 4 sections & I don't know if I was in todays obits, so I got up anyway hahaha

WE have a Skype call set with our grandson at noon today so I need to get this posted to make sure the BOSS is getting enough time to do what ever she is going to do with the computer before we call the grandson..... Enjoy, Vince



 
A cool overcast day here in da Burgh it is Wed.12/9/15 the boss took a fall on Monday & broke her wrist, Tuesday she had surgery to fix it , a nice plate & a few screws, & lots of Pain killers , so I have taken a few days off to help her get over this , like she needs help to sleep hahaha . BUT people at the shop don't realize that I am OFF, they still call her for what ever just like I was at the shop..... if I am home that means I am not working ,,,, you want to chat fine but I have stuff to do here , its not like I am sitting on my @$$ ....... hahaha yes I am hahaha
well that's about all I have for the update, she is watching TV with her eyes closed , HUMMMM I wonder if she is awake,,, but I don't want to ask...... Enjoy, Vince

 
My father used to watch baseball with his eyes closed a lot. Must have been a bad break to require screws. I broke mine in 1998 and we had just got our first PC a few days before. I spent a lot of time on the internet for the next six weeks. I also found out that not doing the rehab exercises was a bad painful idea and ended up doing them longer than I would have once I restarted them.
 
gOOD AFTERNOON, I HAD A busy MORNING , THE BOSS WENT WITH HER SISTER TO DO God KNOWS WHAT , & I WENT Christmas SHOPPING,,,, ALL DONE ..... easy got everything on her list Plus a few little trinkets, well maybe not everything on her list ... I am still here .. hahaha , she has a non exesting appitite , so I haven't been cooking much of anything.... And I have been off at the shop so I have no idea what is going on , sales wise,,,,, & right now don't care,,,, family is NUMBER one & the shop will take care of it self...... I hope
Got the grandsons Christmas gift sent out but he has not got it yet...... he moved a few apartments away from the old place but his friends still live there so he see's them every day , he now had a smaller space & the cost is a lot less.... #2 grandson is having a good time at school & working part time at KMART...... Christmas cards are on hold this year, I offered to do them BUT I was over rulled as she isn't able to write a message in each card......... Oh well her decession is the law here !

Good evening , it is Sunday Dec.20,2015 a cool dark over cast day here in da Burgh,,,, I had a busy morning & didn't get time to post before Lunch today , , right now the wife is in the kitchen trying to clean up the mess I made & doing it with just her left hand, since the wright wrist is broke ,,, cant tie her shoes, cant wipe her own ass with just the left hand??? don't ask I didn't ....
well the week at the shop was a slow one, the weather here has been in the 60's & everyone is out enjoying them selves,,, a few new faces coming in for cigars but the traffic is bad,,,, NO ONE coming in ,,, way behind last years numbers .... maybe a BIG rush this week... I hope.
breakfast this morning was a cheese blintz with fresh peach compote ,,,,, supper was deep fried cod & home made chips , the cod has been in the freezer since Sept. & it is time to move it out , the dry cured ham is getting ready to go in the water bath for a nice long soak I to get rid of the salt crust. that will go in the oven this Thursday evening & the yams will go in Friday morning ..... LOW & Slow ,,, kind of like me hahahah...
this mornings first cigar was a ISOM Montiicristo corona along with a pot of Jamicia Blue Mt. ....... NOT WORTH THE PRICE ,,, it was good but way over priced,,,, back to the Don Carlos #3 & Kona next Sunday ..... & I want to wish all of you a MERRY CHRISTMAS , Happy Chaunaka ( spell check isn't working ) and a Joyful Kwanza what ever you want to celebrate is fine with me..... Good morning it is Sunday12/27/15 a warm wet day here in da burgh,,, 65F , seams like a late April or Early May , I was out with just my light robe & slippers to get the paper, other than a light rain , I could have stayed out with a cigar IF I had pants on hahaha . The Christmas Ham is slowly dwindling down to the bone, Even my shit smells like ham hahahah, so it was a ham & egg sandwich with swiss & tomato for breakfast & the Christmas blend coffee was By passed for a cup of Holiday Zoom ,,,,, picked it up at the store yesterday,,, an after Christmas blow out sale table find,,,,, glad it was on sale..... will not buy it again,,, looks like I will open all the rest of the K cups & mix this medium roast coffee into the next batch of Fall out blend,,, when I take all the left over coffees & dump them all into one , shake it & brew,,, some times I get a winner, some times a looser, some times an average cup O Joe ..... it is after all Coffee & even a poor coffee is better than NO COFFEE!!!!!!
Yep there will be Ham on the table again tonight,,,, ,,, BUT last night we had Shushi , our local Shushi place, the Slippery Mermaid in Sewickley Pa , makes a COOKED BEEF version that my wife loves ! , I am still a purest & stay with the raw tuna, salmon , & what ever they suggest ,,,, I think they give me the stuff that isn't moving as fast as the others as I ask the waiter to tell the chef,,, his choice , & it is always great,,,,,, one of these days I will get a BIG surprise when the bill comes ,,, some exotic fish will hit the menu & I will pay for the entire fish getting only the cheeks,,,,, hahaha OH well its only money & if you don't spend it , ...... what the hell, I spend local, he spends my money , local, they spend that same Buck again & again, EVERY ONE is happy, I just wish I could get a cigar made with 100% Penna. Grown tobacco ,,,,, & if I liked whisky made here in Pa. But no one I know who makes whisky legal or otherwise makes anything I care to drink, I am not a big Corn whisky , rye or Wheat wisky fan , SMOKED BARLEY matured in Scotland's Islay Island, aged about 10,to 25 years ,,, more or less makes no matter to me , as long as it TASTE'S good.
The wife is heading back to the doc, on Jan 7 to have the pin taken out of her wrist,,, it has been a FUN time here if you know what I am driving at hahahaha

I hope Santa was fair to you all & you got what you wanted & needed, , I got just what I needed ,, cigars & whisky ,,, how much better could it be hahahaha ,,,, the kids , grand kinds & great grandkids all got CASH ,,, the universal gift, Noting to return as ONE SIZE fits all.....

we did have a good week at the shop, ,,, a good week not great,,, I was hoping for GREAT , but the warm weather is keeping people away , on Christmas EVE , I watch some DUMB $hit mow his grass ,,,, gotta have better things to do !!!! hey this is DA BURGH , we should have a few feet of snow by now ,,, NADA , a dusting is all we have had so far,,, it was gone in a few minutes as the ground is so warm it melts on contact.... so far we have had very few nights that even went below 32F ,,, the bugs & trees think its Spring !

Looks like the bottom is going to fall out of the weather tonight here. I've been smoking 2-3 cigars a day in the relative warm weather. Cooking a ham for dinner tonight. Been a tough month on the wallet with thousands going out for dental work and a bit more to come. I'm also finding whiskeys to be less palatable and recently found out that most of the new bourbons are really coming out of an old distillery in Indiana and modified for taste. Wish I had a bottle of Walker's Deluxe. I'm finding I enjoy a good VSOP Brandy more than anything else right now and it seems to be a good pairing for cigars. I also long for one of those old broadleaf machine mades and my favorite back then was the Topstone Colo Claro. A friend of mine visited recently and gave me some Munniemakers. Have you tried the Tatuaje La Casita Criollas ? Handmade all broadleaf (CT) tobacco. See you next year if we make it there.
