Good Sunday all! My wife left this am for a confernce in Springfield (our state capital). My 25 year old daughter is still at home working full time and 2nd job in addition to getting her MA. She will be home 2 nights, so I will cook for us..wife comes back Friday.
I went to a H. Upmann tasting on Friday, had an incredible H.Upmann signiture line, I ended up winning 3 more and buying three plus a comp...check this smoke out guys, it's incredible. A great week to all!

Sounds like you had a GOOD night at the shop ! Enjoy, Vince

Well, well, well, always great to read The Sunday Morning Smoke, the internet news published by none other than The Mayor Of Pennsylvania himself, Vince!!! Our Man In Pennsylvania, sort of Ernest Hemingway and Ben Franklin all rolled in to one.

As far as air conditioner in the day, and furnace at night, Fishkill has weather like that, although I never had air conditioning during my seven years up there. I sure did NEED it, hee, hee, heee!!!

Mike, a worker at the Tombstone smoke shop, and a feller that had become a friend, killed his sickly 17 year old dog last night, and then turned the gun on himself. R.I.P. Mike, and your companion for 17 years, you'll both be missed.

I started the day with a Diamond Crown Maximus 3, and went to a Monte 2, while toasting Mike.

Vince, thanks for the hospitality at your shop Friday. Hope you enjoyed my home made mead, wine, and cider. I look forward to another visit later this fall.

It was ALL good , the wine went first, then the cider & the mead was saved for the end, , I hope the hat fitd hahaha ! Enjoy, Vince

Colonel, sorry to hear of the loss of a friend, , its tuff when some one takes there own life, he has left this world to go on to some thing we will never be able to tell anyone about .

Enjoy, Vince

Terribly sorry about your friend, Colonel. Although you know as well as any of us, that there's no where to run to, no where to hide in terms of escaping the world's miseries and depressing events, I realize you went down to Tombstone for a different life. I know that life didn't include plans for making new friends in a place you were so happy to be in, only to have them go up in a puff of smoke the next minute. My thoughts and prayers are with Mike for his eternity, and you and all his loved ones remaining here, for comfort in this time of grief.

Good morning , it is Sunday the last day of Sept. for 2007, dammmmmmm time sure has a way of FLYING by, , it has been a slow week news wise here in the burgh, just winding down for the summer & kicking back taking advantage of the FABLUOUS weather, , mid to upper 70's during the day & mid to low 50's at night, no need for the A/C or the Furnace, sure its a weee bit chilly in the morning but that is what a robe is for, so here I sit on the computer in my robe instead of just the jocky shorts , hahahah, I know to much info & you will need to burn the thought of it out of your brian hahahaha !
I have 2 small T bones for today, right now they are sitting in a bit of garlic oil with a few hot pepper flakes & a bit of sea salt, , they will hit the grill some time late this afternoon with a little egg plant & some roasted onions & garlic , yea I know , just dont be down wind of me tonight hahahaha !
we did stop at the local orchard yesterday, it was the first day of the fall harvest festival, live band pig roast & lots of people , lots of people so I got a few bags of apples , a new one called Honey gold, dammmm fine CRISP juicy apple , just a bit on the tart side but sweet at the same time , great CRUNCH, I ate 3 of them yesterday, I also picked up a few Gala apples I enjoy almost any apple , depening on what you want to do with them from eating them from your hand to pies & muffins there is an apple for every recipe out there , the blending of a few different apples in a pie is what makes them GREAT, , I dont have a favorite apple, just like I dont have a favorite cigar , there are a lot I like at different times depending on what your going to do with the apple or the cigar , determins what apple or cigar you will select from the humidor or the counter, I like some of my apples right from the fridge, others I like at room temp, like a bottle of fine wine or an ear of corn they are all different & still the same , a lot like people , all different but still the same, dammmm I didnt want to get to deep , , dont want to have to think this early in the morning hahahaha !
A buddy picked up a new convertable this past thursday, a mid life crisses car , & God knows he is having a second childhood now that he is in his early 50's hahaha I do remember that time of my life I surived it & even passed the test when my wife had her melt down a few years ago dammm I still feel the heat & ice from that time in her life glad its over & she is back to being her natural self, ( the devils sister ) hahahaha
I was able to watch the Saturday morning soccor game in relalitive peace , the FOG had cleared by half time & now my cigar was visable , but no one complained about it this week, like I would have done anything about it anyhow , but no one complained this week, nanny state do gooders!
well it looks like we will be neededing a new congressman for the area, mr altmyer voted for the SCHIP program & that will cause me to vote against him & support any one who runs against him, an other nanny state do gooder , I was informed by one of my history teaches way back when I was in school that as an AMerican I had rights to pursue the happness I enjoy as a free man & now the government wants to tax me out of any enjoyment at all, dammm I hate to get political but they just TICK ME OFF , G.W. said he will veto it & I hope & pray that the congress hasnt got the balls or the votes to override it ., this hunk of junk legeslation will cripple the cigar industry from here to timbuckto . but enough of the political BS , lets get back to the cigars !
I was given some fine connectcut shade grown wrappers & some lehero ( not sure about the spellin) & some seco , well I have the cutting board & a great chineese cleaver that is sharp enough to shave with, like I need to hahahaha, well I am headed to the store to get some fruit pectin ( Glue) & I will be rolling cheroots today , I have no idea what they will taste like but I am some what dextrous with my hands , after years in the kitchen makeing food I think I have a good touch & will be able to roll a few sticks to smoke , I have no control over the taste, I just have the tobacco I have, nothing to blend it with ,so the only thing I will have control of will be the construction & draw , & if they dont draw, I just take it apart & start agin hahahaha
it is about time for me to put on the second pot of coffee for the morning , the kona was great with the brakfast of bacon & eggs but this pot of Vermont blend from Green mountain is wonderfully full & will stand up to a cigar much better than the light roasted Kona that we had with the eggs & bacon this morning
I have slipped up a bit & have been starting off the day with a Don Carlos #4 instead of the #3, it is a smaller smoke & with the ride to wok now being a lot shorter that when I worked in the Burgh proper , I dont have the traffic to deal with or the distance, , so I thought a cahnge was in order, ....... nothing wrong with the #4 but Monday morning it is Back to the #3 , just to DAMMMM GOOD to pass up , I tryed the Royal Butera vintage natural corona for a few days also , fine smoke but still no DC # 3, I guess I am a creature of habbit or maybe I just know a good thing when I find it!, hey its all in the taste buds, you might not like it , but I do , that dosent mean anything its all Personal taste & beside if you dont agree with my morning cigar your just plane WRONG hahahahaha ! , I think it is about time to contimplate getting dressed & getting out for a nice Sunday morning walk with a big mug of coffee & a BIG Cigar maybe a Partagas #10 this morning for the walk, , but I do have that Monte "A " that has been in the Humi a few years Hummmmm , is today the day for it ? I dont know , it is a little early even for me to have a single malt & that cigar is crying out for a Laugavulin , well even for me that is a tall order this early in the day, I might need to hold off till this afternoon or evening for that combo !
well thats about it from the Burgh this week, Enjoy, Vince

Good morning , it is Sunday 7 OCT. 07, well it is a really big weekend here in da Burgh the unseasonal High temp today is going to be in the low 90's !! dammmm thants hot for Aug. let alone Oct. , I should be getting ready for the fall change over for the Qtr.Deck, but I am still running "Summer mode " ( all windows closed & A/C on Full blast ) , by now I should be sitting in there with the windows up & the doors open , get some of the 'stale " air out & fresh air in , even some of the photos have 'watery eyes " hahahaha , hummmm , maybe its time to clean the filter in the a/c, but I dont think so afterall I cleaned it 2 or was it 3 years ago hahahaha ,
with all the heat we have be subject to this past week I havent been cooking all that much , , I do try to have a some what harty breakfast, if you can call one egg & one slice of bacon harty hahahah , , but friday morning I had an appointment at 8 am for the car & I did walk to the shopping center for breakfast that morning & I had a scrambled egg with home frys , no bacon & I ate a slice & a half of rye toast , I was so full when I left the place I had to sit on the bench & smoke a cigar before walking back to the service station to check onnmy car, I had a sway bar in the front end break ( not a bad record for a car with 155+K on it ) well I ended up needing 2 front tires , the rotors needed to be turned but I was able to get new rotors for the same price as turning the old ones so go for it I said, repack the front bearings & new pads , check the alignment & change the oil all for a nice tiddy sum of $440.00 , dammmmm thats a lot of cigars ! , I dont know if thats a lot of money for the amount of work they did , but I have known the shop owner for many years & have cooked for him his girldfriend /wife . his divorce party & a few dinner /breakfasts combo's for the girl dejour & he never complained about my charge of $350 . for an elegant candle lite dinner with a equally gourmet feast of breakfast the next morning , so I guess we both got the going rate for our services , I just wonder how much a few of the girls got hahahahaha
we have been gearing up for the loco electons , I think that should be LOCAL but they both fit ! hahaha , I put up a sign in my yard for a local ADA who is running for judge , maybe that will help me in the future if he wins , never know when I might end up in front of him for some stupid reason , like shouting down a a leftist protester bitching about me sitting in front of the shop with a cigar in my mouth puffing away watching the traffic go by or jacking up a kid against the wall for trying to set fire to MY AMERICAN FLAG proudly flying in front of the shop along with a POW-MIA flag , I didnt think I could move that fast , but when that little SOB pulled out his lighter & grabbed MY flag I went ape shit, when I grabbed the little SOB he went white with fear, well then i realised he was just a Punk kid & if I hurt him I was going to be in trouble so I just put him back down on his feet & didnt toss him into the traffic like I wanted to do , & let me tell you it didnt do my back one bit of good , I will be paying for that slight miscaculation of judgement for a long time , dammmm am i sore , good thing I had my back brace on when it happened, had I been with out it I might not have got the punks feet off the ground & scared him shitless !
my wife blended up a few differnt leftovers of coffee & made a Monkey mix the predominate flavor is a rain forest nut from Green mountain coffees , there is some Sumatra , kenya AA , & columbian supremo all mixed together but you can realllllly taste the rain forest nut in the blend , I seam to enjoy it better with the added flavor of the AA & supremo , just a little hint of the nut instead of the full blown frontal attack of it , kind of nice & mellow, but right now I an enjoying my Sunday morning Kona , soon to be fallowed with my buddy Don Carlos III , I have been hanging out with his little brother Don Carlos IV. BUT I go way back being friend with DC3 it is hard to go a different way.
it is way to hot to cook anything in the oven today so I think I just might do some dogs or brats on the grill & call it a day , I dont even want to fire up the grill it is so dammmmm hot out I might just MICROWAVE the dogs , dammmm is that any way for a GOURMET CHEF to cook hahahahaha
the wife has a Summer cold & has been fighting it for a week, the ragweed & polin count are all sky high we need a killing frost Soon to stop all this BS, but on the good side , the gardens are still producing peppers & tomatos , I have an eggplant that will be introduced to some of them today along with a little extra virgin olive oil & some onions, garlic & a weeee bit of FIRE , to hell with the microwave dogs , maybe a little pasta or some rice & that will be all right with me for today, I guess I am getting lazy in my old age , I didnt think I could ever get any lazyier that i all ready was but I have suprised my self at how slow I can go ! , just like a spinning gyroscope , just going fast enough not to fall over !!! hahaha
I did enjoy yesterday mornings scoccor game watching the grandson jumpmhing up & down on the side line & getting a few kicks in the game it self, this is his last year with this groupe of kids he will turn 10 in Jan & this is an under 10 bunch, the under 12 bunch is a traveling team & there is no way he will be going out for it , they dont have any home games at all & they play at 8 am , at a nutural field , whos idea this was is in need of a proctlogist to find there brain !!! or if it is who my daugher told me it was I guess she will need a Gynacoligest to find her brain , or maybe both ! , they play at 8 am on a Saturday & the closest game is a 35 minute drive up the interstate, I do love my grandson , but dammmmm ther is a limit to it , he isnt all that agressive a player & spends most of his time on the side lines jumping up & down cheering for the team, he likes to be there So he is he just isnt evergoing to be a starter , he will make a great chearleader when he gets to college , shades of GW , I can see him now porkpie had raccoon coat & a megaphone , harvard, yale ,Prinston, dartmouth Brown , penn or Comunity college it makes no difference the job is still the same , & right now he wants to be a fireman when he grows up , well me to . I just havent grown up yet myself. hahahaha
I guess that about all I have for now time for more coffee & a cigar ! have a wonderful Sunday & enjoy, Vince

thats one way to prevent a punk kid for setting your flag on fire.

my recomendation though...

taller flag pole ... and since the flag pole is taller might as well make the flag bigger.

I wish I could get a taller pole, it is in a bracket on the side of the buildong as high as I can reach , this punk was able to just get the bottom of it wih his one hand & dig in his pocket with the other to fish out the lighter, I think he was more suprised my me than he had thought about, I dont think he had premedittated it i, sort of a spur of the moment, kind of thing, he wasnt rady for anything that came at him, unless he was just STUPID hahaha Enjoy, Vince

VINCE!!!

Vince!!!

With Da Nooz Fum Da Burgh.

Well, I'll give yinze da nooz fum Noo Yawk. And the news is that it's always great to read about Vince's life and times, loco elections, gynecologists, grandchildren, Vince taking care of loco liberals, where would we be without the adventures of our very own "Chef?" For the 4 p.m. NFL telecast, I chose a Carlos Torano Exodus 1959 Silver Edition Robusto (4.75x50) with about 9-12 months age on it, and the news about the cigar is that it's very satisfying. I just love when a cigar has that hint of aluminum foil. Very nice touch.

Vince, keep it up. The world needs you.

AND I need you to read the BS I put out, I enjoy the comments & relish the idea that I have a "fan Base" ever since I stopped my broadcasting carrier I miss the feed back & the other Bs that went along with it . I still have the creative juices flowing & no place to let them out, this is as good as it gets , my grammer isnt the best, nor my spelling, I am a talker NOT a typer, so i do loose some thing in the written form that i have when I talk, I guess thats why I dont text on the cell phone, dammm I dont even have a cell phone hahaha, I have had the same land line for 37 years now, no reason to start now ! hahaha ! Enjoy, Vince

good morning , it is Sunday , 14 OCT. 07 , it is a chilly foggy morning here in da Burgh , we went from a record high of 91 last week to a record low for the high temp of the day just 3 days later when all we managed was 49 for a high , just like always here in da Burgh if you dont like the weather wait a few minutes & see if you like that, we run the a/c during the day & the furnace at night , , Go figure !
well the repoert will be short & sweet this morning, as I have to be in New Castle today for a POD cast ( check it out on http://www.burghhefers.com ) go to the link for POD casts, there are over 40 on line right now ( I think ) , well back to the new from da burgh, last night at 2:24 AM I got a call from the 911 center , the alarm at the shop went off the police were checking all the doors in town & when they checked the back door of the shop it opened & set off the alarm, well I dont have to tell you what a LOUD noise the alarm makes & it woke up the entire area , well I got the call & had to get out of a nice warm bed get dressed & go in to reset the alarm, ( not a happy camper ) well when I get there the answeing machine is blinking so I turn off the alarm, & listen tp the message, it is the alarm company calling the shop to see what the trouble was, they didnt call me at home but they called the shop, who would answer had it been a breakin , so I called the alrm company & they said they called the police & then the police called me, I asked why they called the shop & they told me it was the procedure, well I need to talk to some one about changing that, call the shop fine BUT also call ME ! , so I got home at 3:35 & by the time I was able to fall back asleep it was after 4 well I didnt get up at 6 for my morning walk Don carlos #3 & my pot of kona , I am just tired & want to go back to bed , BUT I need a shower & need to get going so I will end it right here & hope that I can elaberate more next week , but right now I got to go ! Enjoy, Vince

Sounds to me you need to retire from that job also! I have got things under control, I rubbed two Oven Stuffer Roasters (they got the pop ups) this morning. One with the BBQ rub and one with the Montral Chicken Rub. Both rubs are made by McCormick. Faet and easy. Sundat at Grandpa Toms is going to be just great.

Sounds to me like Vince needs to have a conversation with the alarm company. I read this thread on Sunday, but didn't have a chance to get back here.

Hello?

Hi, this is ABC Alarm Systems, is everything okay down at the shop?

Uhhhhhhhh YEAH, everything's great, we're having a 3 a.m. sale!!!

Can I get your name for reference? Are you the owner, Vince?

Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh YEAH, Vince, that's it, that's my name, sure, sure, that's it, don't worry, everything's fine, great work, thanks for calling, sorry for the false alarm.

The Real Vince gets there the next day and finds that the shop has been cleaned out, and the burglars left a note:

"Your alarm company is SO nice and polite!!! Thanks for the cigars, scotch and coffee!!!"

BWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!

Good morning to all you cigar smokers & readers of the Sunday Morning news from the dining room table , it has been a fantastic week here in da burgh , the weather has just been absoulatly FINE, highs in the 70's & lows in the mid 50's the trees are starting to turn from Greeen to red, gold orange & yellow the hill sides are a blaze of color , it is just a fantastic drive to work in the morning, hahaha, I say work, but it is a labor of love , where else do you get paid to sit , listen to Jazz , smoke fine cigars sip coffee & a weee dram of single malt scotch & get paid to do it , dammmmmm what a country !!, & speaking of what a Counrty , the congress DI NOT over ride the Veto by GW on the schip program Good for GW, good for the CIGAR industry, , lets face it the @$$ hats in DC have no idea what it is like in the real world it is time to clean house & vote out all the incumbants , do your 2 term s & get out NO pention for elected positions, get a JOB you blood suckers , Dammmm I hate to get political but they just frost my pumpkin , imagine wanting to raise 35 BILLION in additional revenue from an industry that has 2.2 billion in sales a year , I was never a math major but thats seams to me that it is WAY out of wack even for my 9 year old grandson he understands that you cant get almost 16 time the annual sales in taxes from an industry that will have sales fall into the PIT with the added taxes & the 2.2 billion in sales will drop to under 1 billion & thats even less money to tax even at the higher rate they are wanting to impose , well its all way beyond me what they are thinking, JFK had the right idea he was way ahead of Ronnie when it came to Trickle down economics , LOER the tax rate across the board, let the people keep more of there hard earned money & they will in turn save a little more & create new jobs by expanding the business & investments they all ready have , that creates more jobs & more people working pay more taxes & dont Suck from the public tit & collect wellfair , they have jobs & instill the work ethic in there children so that they dont grow up looking for a hand out from uncle sugar , dammmm thats enough from the soap box this morning on to the subject at hand, Cigars food & the finer things in life , I have 2 t bones defrosting for later today , the grill will get hot about 4 pm today , no marinade, just a little salt & pepper & on the grill, plain & simple, kind of like me hahahaha , it is just way to nice out NOT to fire up the grill, a baked spud & some salad , I am a happy camper !
breakfast this morning was a simple egg bacon cheese tomato on a toastd muffin along with a pot of kona which I am finishing up right now I have a peaberry to grind & brew next
sales at the shop have been going well, we had our first year open & will be having a birthday bash soon , but this comming WED. the 24th we are having a FATBOT party, all the 60+ ring size cigars will be featured & some 54,56 & 58's will also be included , but we have a large number of different facings of the popular new size 6 x 60, my self I dont like the big guns , I smoke a few Diamond crowns & they are 54 ' or 56s & & I just dont like that big of a cigar , Now I understand why the boss complains about her jaw hurting hahahahahaha , yea I wish hahahaha
I had to get 2 now tires on my car last week & since then I have had to get air almost every day, it is going back Monday morning for a check on the wheel, dammm thing might be cracked or chipped , I hate the dammmmmmm wheels , they look great , but they just dont hold up like th e old steel ones with a hub cap, might not look as good , but the replacement cost is about 1/10th 15 bucks at the junk yard vs 150 at the junk yard , ahhh I guess I have moved the point of reference to include looking good vs function , & they DO look GOOD !

ONE more Soccor game to go to next Saturday & that will be it ! the grandson will be 10 in Jan 08 & will be to old to play next spring season & the over 10 kids dont play on Saturday mornings , so I can sleep in next season , there is no score board at any of the games , they just want the kids to feel good about playing on a team , BS the kids are aware of the score & who is winning , I might not not care but the players sure do !

Yesterday was the fall fest in Monaca the main street was bloced off &* the crafters & vendors set up booths & tents selling all the fall junk, like apple butter & apple & pumpkin pies , there was a few plases selling meat ball sandwiches & pizza by the slice what that has to do with fall is way beyond me , but it was good hahahaha , there were 2 radio station broadcasting live fromm the fest 88.3 FM a low power FM station set up just for the fest, sounded great all over town crisp & clear but not a lot of range I was about 3 miles out of town when I started to loose signal in the car , not bad for the antena being between to buildings in the center of town, had it been up on the hill or even on a roof it might have been a lot better , the other station was my old place of employment the TWIN towers of AM radio in the Beaver County are a , 1460 WMBA & 1230 WBVP , to seperate station at oppisited ends of the county with the same programming on both stations execpt for high school foot ball & basket ball when they each do a seperate game , a few years ago the only thing they did the same was the news , both stations had seperate programming , but consoladatrion & saving $$$$$ are the way of business now & the 2 small towns lost there idenity with out there own radio station s.

we had a large gust of wind blow through here some time yeasterday as all the lawn furniture on the back deck was blown to the railing & the wind chimes were scattered all over the deck, looks like its time for the fishing line again & the tweesers & the magnafing glass to tie the line & hope the knots dont come out in the next high wind !

I dont have much planned for the rest of the week just show up at the shop , smoke drink & listen to some soft jazz , & in the words of Yokof Smearnoof , WHAT A COUNTRY !
Enjoy, Vince

An incredibly beautiful day here in the east coast headquarters of Political Correctness Run Amok, Intellectual Snobbery and Blame America First, Dot Socialist.

Cheers to you all in "Flyover Country" and you know who you are, you dumb cows you, hee, hee, heee!!! Ohhhhhhhhhhhhh, if I only had a penny for every time I hear on a weekly basis what a bunch of idiots everyone between here and The People's Republik of San FranCrisco is, I could start my own oil company and get turned down for drilling rights in Alaska like everyone else. There's enough oil in this country to run the place for at least a century without buying a drop from anyone else, but that's okay, we'll leave it there for our conquerors.

I'm not even going to go in to what they say about military people here. Oh okay, I'll go in to it briefly. Everyone here knows an active duty, or just returned military person who was in Iraq, says Bush is full of bull, the war is all about oil, and we should have never gone in there.

Oh, here's another thing. When you military folks visit New York, and you want to know what subway train to take to Yankee Stadium? Most of the people giving you directions, and just about everyone around you thinks you enlisted because you're a dumb cluck, you had no life down at the auto body shop in Alabama, or the housing projects in Newark, and you've been programmed like the dummy you are to believe in an imperialist regime, and to do its bidding like a willing toadie to conquer the world for Bush, Cheney, Rove, and the rest of the "Neo Cons."

But I digress, when I should be digesting. Speaking of conquerors, there's our Vince. I must tell you, when I wake up as early as I did on this Sunday morning, have a chance to actually enjoy the morning for a while before football, instead of waking up with 13:56 left in the first quarter of the first game, it's a wonderful thing. And on a day when it's yet ANOTHER one of the most beautiful days I've ever seen, and knowing that there'll be a SMS post by Vince to look forward to, my day is already made.

So there's the reading of the actual SMS post by Vince itself, and today's post is no less entertaining and informative than what we would expect from our resident Chief Chef, Cigar Smokeur Extraordinaire, The Sultan Of Single Malt, Conqueror of Cuisine worldwide, and Vietnam Era Veteran, who I'm proud to say I've received open invitations, cigars and messages on my answering machine from.

As for pizza and meatball heroes, that transcends seasonal Vince, them thangs fer ALWAYS!!!

I see your grandson was born on the same day as Elvis.

Uh, oh.

I won't even comment on your wife's jaw, but I am going to send her a letter and tell her what you've been up to, kissing and telling on the internet, HAW, HAW, HAWWWWW!!!

Cigars. I love them thick. Okay, I just opened the door for trolls and Wisenheimers, hee, hee, heee!!! Bloof can now be quoted as having actually said, . . .

"I love them thick." Have fun, haw, hawwwwwwwwwwww!!!

Vince, funny you mention a huge gust of wind, because yesterday some thick, gray rain clouds approached, and suddenly a huge gust of wind blew through my apartment causing a rustle, and blowing stuff all over the street down below. It was followed by a period of about a half hour or so of consistently high winds. I had a feeling it was a new front moving in, and that's exactly what happened. Although the temperatures are still up there, the summer-like conditions of the past few days have disappeared.

As for the radio Vince, . . .

we've got to get you back on. Maybe you could do internet radio casts, at your leisure, out of your house, with a DittoCam type setup like Rush has, so we can see you as you enjoy huge clouds of fragrant, aromatic, first and second hand cigar smoke.

Have a great day, everyone, salute our armed services, past, present and future, because without all the turmoil and crap of the past, and perhaps the present, you may not have been born, but as long as you were, if you're here, you're in the greatest nation ever created by the will of man, so let's build up, and not tear down. Appreciate our cops, firefighters, EMT's, sanitation workers, everyone has value, or as Sly and The Family Stone said, . . .

Everybody Is A Star.

Only in America. What a country, indeed.

Oh Sir Loin of Bloofington....

I think you just may be a dark genius.. :neer:

The Flip side of the Sly cut you just listed is soooo a propos for this occassion....

"Thank You (Falettinme Be Mice Elf Agin)"

From Wiki:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thank_You_ ... e_Elf_Agin)

"...released in December 1969, is a 1970 hit single recorded by Sly & the Family Stone. The song, double a-sided with "Everybody is a Star", reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 in February of 1970. Some music scholars consider it the first recording to feature the matured form of funk music"
