A friend of mine had a misunderstanding with a guy on eBay about a pair of speakers that he paid the guy five, six hundred bucks for. My friend lives in the borough of Queens, NYC. The guy's in the Midwest somewhere. I told the guy at the time, wait around, I'll bet you he went down to Katrina-country, something tells me that he's down there. Why else would you suddenly be getting no answer and all this stuff, despite the fact that everything had gone well up to that point? Well, it was either that or he did get ripped off.
Soon after I said that, the guy finally got back to him. He was part of a ministry that had gone down to help out with Katrina aid, and my friend got his speakers with no problem. But the funny part was that he was on the verge of spending whatever it took to go out to the Midwest and knock on this guy's door, even though it would have meant a ton of money in gas or air fare. Just to make the point!!! Actually, coming from NYC and having grown up in certain neighborhoods, that's the way it's done a lot of times. I can dig it.
