What Did You Smoke Today

I smoked my first Ashton VSG virgin sun grown. All I can say is I am very happy to have two more on the way.

La Aurora Cien Anos Bellicoso that had about a year of age. I listened (finally) to the C.com radio show with Alex and Jose Blanco as guests and when they mentioned the possibility of C.com having some 2 year old's in the aging room I decided to see what 1 year does to these. I give it three thumbs up, this was the best cigar I may have ever smoked Padron and Opus included.

By the way, Jose Blanco was by far the best guest I have heard on C.com, I could listen to that guy talk about cigars for hours. Great podcast for sure.

I enjoyed a Rocky Patel Edge Corojo Toro with my morning coffee. Later in the day I hi up a Gurkha Masters Select, El Duke with a glass of Glenlivet 18 year. A good day, however I'm not done yet. I believe a CAO MX-2 is calling my name tonight.

i smoked a CAO Italia ciao.

i found it to be quite good. It was a bit lighter bodied than i usually go for but it had a good taste. next one i smoke will have to be the piazza. this one was too short.

Last time I smoked the Piazza was when Italy won the World Cup...I need to revisit this cigar again real soon 8)

Lots of good cigars this week. 8)

RP 92 Torpedo
Fuente Chateau Sungrown Robusto
EO 601 Robusto
La Aurora 1495 Corona (my new go-to stick)
CAO Brazilia Gol

Every one of these cigars was thoroughly enjoyed.

Ciao, ok cigar

Piazza; an enjoyment

Kinda funny that this doesn't happne as much witht he brazilia line. I guess the italians are fickle.

Today, I was able to smoke one of the Cusano 18's that I was gifted from my brother Rob. It was a great smoke, and I thoroghly enjoyed every puff. Thanks Rob!!

Yesterday I had a Graycliff Espresso PG which was gifted to me by Alex a couple of years ago. Prelight draw was a little loose but once lit pulled perfectly. It's mellowed somewhat since the last time I smoked one, but that doesn't mean it was powerless. I had such a nicotine buzz that I thought I was floating. It was the culmination of a great night at work.
A prominent local family, their wine buyer, and some of their friends came in for dinner after looking at land to build a winery and restaurant on. They wanted me to pair the wines which they brought with their dinner. They were so excited with their dinner selections that they offered me a glass of their 1986 Chateau Margaux. As soon as dinner was sent out one of the servers shows me their dessert wine which they want a dessert for.
I made a white chocolate mousse, pastry creme and late harvest creme Chantilly napoleon. It was layered with thinly sliced fresh fruit between tuille wafers.
They wanted me to make an appearance at their table while dessert was being served, at which point they commended me and offered me a glass of 1990 Chateau D'Yquem...it was incredible...I could get used to it if it was in my budget!

I love to make people happy through food, but when someone takes the time to thank me and share one of their passions with me...that's really what it's all about 8)

NIIICE.

I had a RP Vinatge 1999 that tasted like burning leaves and had to be pitched. Its been becoming a go to cigar of mine too. Oh well.

Gurkha Grand Master 8.5" x 52: WOW! over 2 hours of smoking pleasure! Not one issue in burn or relighting! Had this baby resting since March (Thanks Kelvin!). Smoked it all the way to the cap!

Padilla Miami Belicoso Fino: Well, couldn't even smoke half of this as the wrapper was totally falling apart from foot to head in many places. The only thing that remained intact was the cap, which was probably trying its best to hold it together.

AF Hemmingway Classic Maduro: gave up on this midway into the cigar, as the draw was extremely tight and I just couldn't get it to open up.

I need to go in early today to start prepping three courses of our Christmas Day menu as well as work lead grill or lead sauté tonight.
I woke up a little late so I opted to go with a PAN Principe instead of one of my goto morning smokes. The draw was a little tight, but the volume of smoke produced was just right. It went great with the french roast I had to get my game face on and head out to work.

Have a good one everybody!

Tried the greycliff 99 tonight. Extremely smooth with nice thick smoke. I liked it a lot. Great deal last week. Thanks again Alex for putting that one together, and Donny for getting it to me asap.

Last night I had a bunch of family over for my grandfathers birthday, and my cousin and myself smoked a Due Mondi T. It's the one that you clip in the middle and end up with two cigars. I don't really know what I was expecting, but I have to say I was not prepared for the strength of this cigar. There is an ad for this on page 297 in the December issue of cigar aficionado. I picked it up at the big smoke and just kind of assumed that it was a novelty, but I was pleasantly surprised.
