What Did You Smoke Today

5 Vegas Miami. Very good.
This is my current go-to smoke. Luv 'em.

Last night I had an Arturo Fuente Maduro. Just the regular Gran Reserva series, but man what a good cigar. A strong hint of anise with notes of caramel just a hint of spiciness, with a slight sweetness just like a good maduro should have. Screw the overpriced Hemmingway series, this and the regular Cameroon 858 are killer smokes and easier on the wallet.

Just after 11 here in Zone Improvement Plan Code 85638. The thermometer has been sitting at about 94° for the past couple hours. A tad warm to take the huskies for a walk, so I'll just haul my butt around town for a walk. I'm taking a Monte 2.

Yesterday I had a RP Conn. w/coffee, followed by a Padilla Miami 8&11 after lunch, then a Gurkha Fuerte after dinner that was gifted to me by Travis in a mailbomb. The Gurkha wasn't as strong as I thought but was pretty good, and the Padilla rocked.

smoked a AB Maxx while sitting by the campfire. It was a brisk 48-50* on the beautiful Skyline Drive at Big Meadow

It was a beautifull evening here also tonight, a perfect 68 degrees. I managed to nub a very nice Don Pepin Blue label - a great end to a great Sunday for sure!

Enjoyed a Cigar.com Purple Label Churchill for breakfast with a cup of coffee. I didn't care for the first one I had a few weeks ago, but letting them sit in the humidor for a month really made a difference. This one was a very nice morning smoke.

I celebrated the Cubs' win by smoking an Alec Bradley Maxx Fix during the Bears game. I got this one as part of a create-your-own sampler deal. Interesting cigar. It had a nice flavor profile, and it smelled unique. I've got another in the humidor that I'll save until my palate is a little more experienced.

Then I celebrated the Bears victory by smoking a Hoyo de Monterrey Excalibur No. 3 as I watched the Red Sox game. Not bad, but I think I liked the Dark Sumatra better.

Unfortunately, the Red Sox lost, or I would have probably had to dip into the humidor yet again for a celebratory smoke. I briefly considered a consolation smoke to mourn Boston's loss to the Evil Empire, but I decided that a 4-cigar day was more than I deserved.

Had my normal RP Conn w/java in the morning, and a 5V "A" apocalypse before bed, but after lunch I had my first Ashton VSG, the illusion size. I can't think of a single bad thing to say about this cigar. In fact, it may very well be the perfect cigar! I don't know why it took me so long to try it, but it was definitely worth waiting for. If you haven't had one yet I highly recommend you give it a shot. It will definitely be a regular in my humi from now on.

I am sidelined with broncitus, so I sleep most of the day yesterday and today. I had to sneak out and have a Romeo & Julieta 1875 this afternoon...a nice mild cigar.

I'm almost embarrassed as to how much i smoked today...but, here goes....

I really enjoyed a Cigar.com blue label this morning...b4 lunch i had 5V "A" torpedo. After lunch i had 5V Miami, and ended my day with a Cigar.com Corojo label in the late afternoon. cheers.

I had an Avo Domaine 50, another from a friend. I really like these, so much so, I just ordered a box.

I walked the dogs twice today. Brought cutter, lighter, dogs. Forgot cigars.

To make up for my stupidity, I'm having a Diamond Crown Maximus 3.

I'm having a Cuesta-Rey Centro Fino Sungrown Torpedo. If you've looked past Cuesta-Rey (since Fuente doesn't really market them at all), I recommend them. I like their Sungrown quite a bit and their Maduro's great as well. Haven't had a CT shade since I'm not a fan of that wrapper, but if you are, I'm sure you'd like that one too.

Started the week out with a Gurkha Dos Capas Grand Master and CI Legends Gray Labey by Cusano on Sunday, and a Gurkha Master's Select on Tuesday.

Only a 1 cigar day today, I was pretty busy after work. Decided to light up a Padron that RMPD109 sent me about 3-4 weeks ago from the F&G thread. From eyeing the size, I'd say it was a 5000. Was quite a nice cigar and now that it's getting cooler here in the desert after sunset, it helped me relax after a hectic day out back without working up a sweat just reaching for my iced tea. Fuller bodied, even burn, with a subtle spiciness and a bit of an earthy flavor. Burned even the whole way but I had to relight it with about 2.5-3" left because I was taking my time enjoying it.

last night, after i attended the local guitar center drumoff (that i didn't win but i knew i wouldn't, there was mad talent there, but the experience was great fun), I had a rocky patel osg from the aging room at cigar.com....

it was the smoothest cigar i have had yet...easily noseable with no harshness or spicyness, i didn't even know the smoke was going thru my nose thats how smooth it was...

....until i had some kind of brain malfunction and inhaled a giant puff....then my eyeballs splattered onto the windshield as i coughed what little life force was left back into my lungs. my fiance was not impressed...all in all...id do it again without the self abuse.
