What Did You Smoke Today

Way to go Dustin! Those are a couple of nice smokes to be sharing w/the old man. I hope one day my father and I make ammends so we can enjoy a cigar (or a pipe) together.

I had a C10 tonite. Pretty good considering I'm not a fan of Cusano cigars. It was VERY similar to the Double Connecticut in that it had a strong floral aroma both pre- and post-lighting. It was a bit fuller tho.. I could actually taste it which is a good thing. Also enjoyed some pipe tobacco but that's for a different forum...

I had a Hoyo De Monterrey Dark Sumatra last night. It was a good cigar, not the best, but I will make some room for it in the Humidor.
Bane~ Give the PM another chance, I once had a bad one too, but i tried one again the other day and i changed my mind about it.
Dustin~ I know that feeling. There is nothing better than sharing a smoke with the old man.

Having our first rain since Labor Day here. So, I'll don my slicker (remember that word, Bloof & Vince?) and head to town with a PSP2.

Had a 5 Vegas Shorty at half time. I'll have the victory smoke tomorrow morning.

Oh and by the way... WAR EAGLE!!!

Today I tried a Carlos Torano Exodus..It had a very nutty flavor throughout and finished a bit creamy.

Yesterday I had a Carlos Tarano Virtuoso, today a Cusano Corojo '97.

Had a CAO Cx2 last night with some family friends and 20 year scotch. I really enjoyed it but it tightened up a good bit for the last 2 inches or so.

Today I had a Partagas Naturales. Was built well, but I must admit, I didn't enjoy it at all.

Today I had a Romeo y Julieta Habana Reserve. It was a pretty good smoke. Nice leathery taste with a bit of pepper on the aftertaste.

I really had a nice stroll down memory lane with this cigar. It reminded of one of the first good cigars that I had about 13 or 14 years ago. It was also a RyJ, however it was from Habana.

Anyway... overall not a bad cigar, and with a little age it will be a really good cigar. I think I'll pick up some of these for aging.

Supposed to have had a meeting and a doctor's appointment today. One was cancelled and the other was rescheduled. Oh well, at least there was a B&M nearby. Had a Fuente Sungrown Cuban Belicoso and an Anejo 46 while passing the time of my now free afternoon. The Cuban Belicoso had some construction issues but the flavor was there. The construction on the Anejo was flawless and tasted pretty darn good! :D

Today I had my first 5 Vegas Limitada 2007. I liked it. Actually I think I might like it better than the 2006. The 2006 is a great cigar for explaining complexity to a beginner, because the tastes change so blatantly, but the 2007's complexity is more subtle. I'm gonna need a few more of these to really get a grasp on this smoke.

I also had my first Rocky Patel R4. I'm so spoiled by his other cigars, that I didn't like this one as much. These are everyday cigars in the price point of the Cusano M1's, MC's, and P1's, and Cigar.com house blends. As a whole, in that price point, I would say the R4 is the best of the bunch. It has the least amount of unrefined tastes. All of the cigars in that price point are decent, but I have to give it to the R4 for the better tasting series.

I also had my second Padilla '68....just heaven.....

Beautiful evening here. I just finished an Avo Domaine 50. With health concerns, I'm only having about four cigars a week now

Let's not forget, it's the anniversary of Mark Twain's birth, and Winston Churchill's birth. A couple of slightly famous cigar smokers.

I have a Bolivar Coronas Gigantes tonight.

This was a great week for firsts...including today which consisted of my first Camacho Coyolar, and my first God of Fire. The camacho was interesting with a spice like cinnamon or something...need a couple more, and the God of Fire was definitely aged in mahogany instead of cedar. Ill have to get some more of those, this was the churchill, and was my first cigar of the day....God of Fire needs further attention. I also had a 5 Vegas 'A', 5 Vegas Miami, and a punch Gran Puro Santa Rita.

Smoked an Anejo 55 from 2006 while watching LSU win the SEC. Currently smoking an Opus xXx to continue celebrating.

Today was a 3 stick day. It started with a Cuaba Generosos then had a Gurkha Ancient Warrior and finished the evening with a Padron 1964.

Smoking another San Cristobal from Ashton/Don Pepin. I really like this cigar, about the same price as the 5V Miami but as I said in an ealier post, more spice and more of an earthy flavor. Kinda like a 5V Miami w/a shot of testosterone. I highly recommend this cigar, if you haven't tried one, do it!
