What Did You Smoke Today

Chris and I share something in common, tried the Camacho triple maduro robusto as well and found it very strong, slightly harsh, but loved the earth flavor. Great cigar if you appreciate full bodied and heavy earth flavors. Very nice band as well :D

Today's choice was a Gurkha Fuerte Toro. Not too bad a smoke but I think it had a bit of an edge to it. I like the fuller flavored smokes but I think if I put this one up against the Olor fuerte it would come in at second place.

I read somewhere that the Olor Fuerte was rated as 'medium body, full flavor' and I'd have to say the Gurkha was more like a 'full body, full flavor'. In any case, I liked the Olor Fuerte better.

LGC Series R #4. Nice creamy smoke with a hint of spice. Full Flavor and body.

I smoked a very nice Omar Ortz yesterday afternoon, started creamy, got stronger, and ended nice and spicy - those are great cigars!!

Ya know the old saying "Even an old, blind sow finds an acorn now and then'? Well, I found one.

Based on the brand name, I had a preconcieved notion that the smoke I had tonight would probably be relegated to the 'dog rocket' category but, Boy!. Was I wrong! I had a FIRE by Indian Tabac and I guess it was the brand name that turned me off. I should have known better - after all, it's one of Rocky Patel's blends and I haven't yet smoked one of his and been disappointed with it.

It was touted as full-bodied but I didn't find it so. It was more a medium-bodied smoke but had very nice flavor and lots of creamy, white smoke with a smnooth, easy draw and an even burn. It was really quite good.

And, for a little different taste, try dipping the head of one into a big snifter of Knob Creek just before taking a puff. MMmmm! Very tasty. This one goes on my 'preferred' list.

Molto Bene.

Nice Marty! I do enjoy the IT Super Fuerte Maduro and the IT Cameroon Legend. I am not a big RP fan but these IT's are really a good bang for the buck!

Boy, that's nice to hear. I'll have to take a closer look at the IT items. Somewhere I got the notion that they were kinda low on the totem pole of quality. This one tasted pretty darn good, though, and I'm glad I bought a fiver instead of just a single.

Thanks for the input.

Today it was a Black Pearl Cobre. A delicious toro classed as medium-to-full bodied but I think it leaned a little more toward full. Had a great flavor, smooth, easy draw, and lotsa smoke. The only downside was that it went out with about an inch of smokeable stick left and my *&#$^*$% lighter chose just about that time to crap out on me. Oh, well, I'll buy some of these again and enjoy them even more next time.

Cruzado Robusto...these are not mild cigars. They will need some rest to show their balance, but they are very enjoyable; complex and full-flavored.

Hoyo De Monterrey Dark Sumatra Zavala No. 1. Long name good smoke great chocolate and coffee flavors. Also had a Cohiba Vigoroso (good as always)

I smoked my first Partagas black lable in a long time yesterday (thanks craig) I had forgotten about this tasit smoke and look forward to adding it back into my humi

Today I'm smoking a Cruzado (corona gorada). It shows wonderful tobacco flavors with notes of leather and earth.

Had a Monte Media Noche today while finishing the leaves (thanks Rob). I really enjoy these, a great maduro, nice and chewy with burnt choc flavors.

Well my mouth is finally healed and I think I will induldge in several cigars over the long weekend. I see LFD Double Ligeros in my immediate future. Can i get some dap on dat?

Well, today was a wonderful day for a Gurkha Fuerte here in Northern California. It's about 50 degrees out on my patio with a light rain falling and no wind to speak of. Just a great day to sit with a smoke and a cup of coffee and watch the leaves fall off of ol' Fred while puffing on this fairly robust stogie. Not a bad smoke, either.

Fred's a maple tree that first came into being here in California and is probably the world's best-travelled maple tree. I'd enter him (her? It puts out seeds each spring) (Frederica?) into the Guinness Book of Records if I could verify that.

Anyway, he's part of the family so we decided he needed a name. We first found him when his trunk was about 5 inches tall and he had one lone leaf. My wife was going to pull him up because she thought he was a weed but I told her if she'd put into a pot, I'd prove to her that it was a tree.

To shorten up this long-winded story, after potting him I was transferred to a construction project in Oklahoma and Fred went along. When that job was finished I was transferred to another project in Delaware. When Fred got too big for the pot we put him into a half whiskey barrel.

From there we were transferred to a job in Washington State where we built a humongous paper mill for the Weyerhaeuser people. And when I retired we moved him back to California and finally let him (her?) put down some roots. Now he's about 30-35 feet tall and looking good. Ol' Fred's been a heckuva lot more places than a lot of folks I know.

Okay, folks. I'm all done boring you, now. You can go back to whatever you were doing before I decided to wax eloquent.

Wishing all of you a wonderful Thanksgiving.

2 stick day! PSP2 and a SLR Series G (nc) I was really impressed with this full body smoke and would highly recommend them
