What Did You Smoke Today

I smoked the mother of all cigars today. The gem of the collection that I swor I would never smoke until the time was right.

Ashton VSG Estate Reserve Double Corona - circa 1999. For anyone not familiar with this cigar, it is the old VSG blend, back when they were still a powerhouse, and it was topped with an OpusX wrapper. My god it was AMAZING. Well worth the wait.

Finished the night with a pueblo Dominicano. Love that cigar.

Perdomo Reserve La Tradition Maduro Toro

A very long name for an EXCELLENT Cigar. It went up to +6 yesterday, and so when I got home from work, I went out to the smoking shed and lit it up.

I still cannot discern all the flavors yet, but when unlit it had the wonderfull odor of slightly burnt coffee. It lit well and had lots of different flavors as it burnt down, got a good ash, and smoked it to the end. A good 45 minute smoke in the false spring we have recieved in November!! Highly recommended at just over 5 bucks a stick.

Thanks for reading!

5 Vegas A Artisan
Punch Rare Corojo Magnum
Bolivar '05 Churchill

And currently finishing the night off with a Drew Estate Natural Root Deluxx

Its been a good day

Love those A's!

I enjoyed a C2 and a Flor de Oliva Corojo. Oliva was nice, but I prefer the non-Corojo versions.

11/20

PAN Monarca
Opus X Perfexcion No. 5
Ramon Allones Privada "A"
Cusano Corojo robusto

Saturday I had a Rocky Patel 1990 "A". The extra length makes them even better. A little later I had a La Gloria Cubana maduro Wavell. Strong yet smooth with a lot of smoke. Had a kind of nutty taste if I remember correctly. With some age I think will be great smokes.

Yesterday I had a Don Lino Africa robusto. Was a good medium-full smoke with lots of smoke and a real pungent yet flavorful bouquet. Thing was I had the hardest time keeping it lit and burning properly. Was really too bad cause otherwise would have been a very high ranking smoke.

Those Don Lino Africa are pretty good.

Today I smoked a Pueblo Dominicano. Great smoke.

that is a good pattern to be in. I bet the wallet is getting fatter every day smoking those Flor de Olivas. What a bargain smoke. Bar none best bang for you buck out there.

Flor de Oliva Maduro Churchill is gonna be the first cigar I enjoy when I get home Wednesday evening. I have some errands to run and it'll be a great start to the evening.

Today:

Half a Short Story...I was pushing it trying to fit this one in during my break and paid for it :(

But I have an Añejo 55 lined up for this evening so I think I'll get over it fast

A. Fuente Hemmingway Short Story. My first one, and boy was it good. I was quite impressed.

Natural DE Root
Excalibur 1066 Dark Knight II
Prolly gonna finish the night with a Bolivar '05 Churchil

The "original" blend of the Ashton VSG. I see. Release a cigar that people can't get their hands on fast enough, get the name out there, and keep people coming back for years. Then, just when it becomes knowledge that it ain't what it used to be, it's discovered that the original release is in fact called something else now, a big, fancy name, and for probably even MORE money, you can still taste the "original" Ashton VSG.

Thanks for the information, Macallan. It's a shame, but I've learned to live with such things. What a shame. So now we're stuck with smooth, mild "regular" Ashton VSG's, is that it? I almost feel bad about the ones I sent out now.

Don't really remember the order so I'll list the last week's smokes.

Edge Lite torpedo
Casa Torano churchill
C10 robusto
C18 robusto
Ghurka Master Selects robusto
Sol Cubano maduro churchill

I'm sure there's been one or two more but I just can't remember.

Those Casa Toranos are some very good smokes and the Sol Cubanos cannot be beat for the money.

Last night we had a huge Greek dinner over at my Wife's Aunt's house. She is an awesome Greek cook!! After gourging on food I couldn't even pronounce (even though I am Greek) my wife and I headed up to the bar with a couple of her cousins. I smoked a Fuente Don Carlos #3. Nice cigar, but very delicate wrapper. After it was finished, I jumped into a Vegas A Anomaly. I am now headed up to the cigar shop to smoke a Cameroon label and the go drop off some venison to the butcher to have 45 lbs of sausage made.
